We have an LP store at a local mall and... wow. It is BRIGHT. Hopefully I don't offend anyone here by saying this... but it's cute clothing if you're under the age of 7. At 30, I don't need to highlight certain areas of my body in neon pink...

Thank you - we are getting very excited! We usually do a Hilton Head/Savannah trip, so we're hoping this has a similar vibe.

Foley is nothing at all like Hilton Head/Savannah. There are pros and cons to both. Foley will have the Gulf waters which are generally calmer than the Atlantic waters. The sand will be finer so there will be no bike riding on the beach. Foley is closer to what we call the "Emerald Beach" to mean they can be as beautiful as the Caribbean at times. Hilton Head is one of kind with the big oaks, bike rides, Sea Pines and Ritas which is a must every visit etc. I like both but they are different One good plus is Foley has a Lamberts restaurant which is home cooking and is known for literally throwing rolls at you! Awesome food and great for families

Are there any requirements to what qualifies as a "large corporation?" I mean, I would qualify the company DH works for as such, but I want the Explorist status on my Hyatt account. Would that work if we put in his company email?

It was super popular when I was in college because they came out with sorority prints and my college is the mother of sororities. Girls were going NUTS over that stuff. Several of our sororities got prints so it was everywhere on campus.

All this talk about MBs today has me thinking again about planning a trip to WDW. Keep trying to pencil it in somewhere, but too many places, too little time. Though mostly it's because we're tied to the school schedule and it just seems like there are no good choices. So - which would you say is the least worst in terms of crowds?

Christmas week
New Year's week
Spring break - week before Easter
First week of June

I suspect it's first week of June, but that doesn't work well with our other travel plans. Second least worst too, please.

I don't even know what Explorist gets me now that I'm thinking about it... hahaha. But I imagine it would be nice to have for Japan next year.

imo no need to chill yet. I think your options for P2 to get a biz card is a good idea. and you could also get an amex or Citi biz card and still get the southwest cards in December.

I'm so afraid of being shut down. I see people with less cards than us so it makes me nervous. We haven't even been turned down for a card yet. Freaks me out.

I think I may wait on the Business Platinum for DH (player 2). We're finishing up a rental property but all the materials are really purchased already. We need a new driveway though, about $15k, soooo if that can go on cc, voila.

As for me, I may just get the Hilton AMEX. We really NEED it to get anywhere good with those points. I'm kinda kicking myself now because I see the offer is only 125k points, not 150k like it was.

How did Hunter do?

There was a Vineyard Vines shirt I was semi-interested in if it was in stock. I could have stayed up until 4am, but I didn't want to. By the time I checked and went to my store it was out of stock. NBD. I looked on eBay out of curiosity and some of the items are soooo expensive that you could get real Vineyard Vines stuff.

Better than vineyard vines but I think not as good as lilly. Though that could be because less stuff was sent with the whole boot issue. I think more of the hunter stuff made it to clearance than lilly. People that grew up here don't generally wear rain boots, use umbrellas etc. With the exceotion of if you are gardening in the wet/rain or something like that. You'll see kids in boots but I'm sure that's a combination of jumping in puddles and cute kids boots. It's not often I see someone wearing hunter boots but it happens more than seeing lilly or vv.

I would say the first week of June first. For a second choice probably thanksgiving week

Which AmEx Hilton? The personal ones will get you to 5/24 and lock you out of Chase for a while. The Hilton Biz has been at 125k for some time. P2 can refer you for an extra 20k HH points. Or if you have non-cobranded AmEx cards, you can get MRs.

This is AMAZING - thank you so much for taking the time to share all of this information! When you say get to Isle of Palms early, how early do you recommend?

I've been looking at both the Palmetto Carriage Ride tour and the Morris Island boat tour, so I'm glad to see you recommend both!

We've done the carriage tour and tried to do it when we arrived in Charleston late one day. We were going to have to wait awhile for the carriage (for our turn) so we put it off until the next morning. The guy suggested a time to get there and we were on an early and nice, cool ride through the streets. We really enjoyed it! They were very funny and entertaining and filled with trivia and historical commentary. I'll do it again some time. Also enjoyed a visit at Magnolia Plantation. As far as beaches went, we were on beaches many years ago and it was either John's or James's Island and we were accompanied by a local friend, who drove us there. I'm familiar with Hilton Head's beaches, but Charleston is more a 'city dining and history' outing for me. They also have the walking tours, as well as other already mentioned things to do. I've got a small selection of sweet grass baskets that were my souvenirs over the years.

You mean like Chase shutdowns? Those are typically when people get chase cards too quickly. If you get Amex or Citi Biz cards chase won’t even know about those. If the 15k driveway can go on a credit card I would definitely get the Amex Biz Platinum probably for you and p2. That would be 220k MRs. 100k for 10k spend each.

First week of June then I’d say New Years week. I think after the 1st it dies down.

I would urge you to consider HOW you would use MRs if you and/or P2 get Biz Plats. The AF for that is $595, and sometimes folks get caught up in getting a card, then they do, and they don't know what to do with the MRs they've earned. Since you're out of CVG then Delta could be used but as you know finding points flights for a large family is tricky, not to mention crazy pricing with Delta.

Also, Centurion Lounge allows the cardmember and up to two guests so unless both you and P2 have one, not all of your family will be eligible to enter.

I don't want to dissuade you from getting Biz Plats, they are just high AF and MSR wise and you need to know what the benefits for your family would be.

Totally off topic but my dd and her friend have checked in at ASMu and are heading to Epcot for the first ever young adult friends/no parents WDW vacation! I am so excited for them! And a bit jealous LOL.
