All this talk about MBs today has me thinking again about planning a trip to WDW. Keep trying to pencil it in somewhere, but too many places, too little time. Though mostly it's because we're tied to the school schedule and it just seems like there are no good choices. So - which would you say is the least worst in terms of crowds?

Thanksgiving week
Christmas week
New Year's week
Spring break - week before Easter
First week of June

I suspect it's first week of June, but that doesn't work well with our other travel plans. Second least worst too, please. :D
I have only been early June, Thanksgiving and Easter. I would rank our experience with crowds in that order. I don't know how New Years would fit in, but suspect Christmas would be VERY busy.

i posted a guide on how to get Hyatt Explorist and mLife Gold for free on our news and discussion page of dischurners. if u have any questions, please let me know.

DH was already temporarily Explorist till end of this month. So I have gotten to MLife Gold match. Do I go back and do the match Hyatt thing now? Or do I wait till it expires in 2 weeks? He hasn't stayed at a Hyatt since they gave him Explorist and his next stay is in June 2 days after it expires. Bad timing on his part. lol Not exactly sure what it does for us, but it sounds good.

Spoke too soon, looks like DHs (Edit: Barclays) AA Biz is in the mail today along with my employee card. So 5 days from app with auto approval to receipt of cards, including a weekend. 3 business days.

My app, on the other hand, is still pending.

I have now been pending since May 7th.

AAA opinions? Mainly signed up a few years ago for DHs peace of mind when I would drive back to NE alone. This is my renewal month and I'm trying to decide if I should, being as I've never used it really, maybe a hotel discount once or twice though I've never had to show the card. On the other hand, its $89...
Ours just came up for renewal and I didn’t renew.

I think I may wait on the Business Platinum for DH (player 2). We're finishing up a rental property but all the materials are really purchased already. We need a new driveway though, about $15k, soooo if that can go on cc, voila.

Just FYI, Amex may not be the best cards to get to put driveway spend on. How do you plan to pay for your driveway with your new Amex MSR? Plastiq's terms for what's an allowable payment on an Amex is rather limited, and does not allow for payments to contractors. Amex's terms give them discretion to deny points and bonuses for P2P payments like PayPal or Venmo. If you can pay for the supplies with a credit card, that might work.

We didn't go Thanksgiving week last year, but I would definitely rank First week of June as the best week to go. Christmas, New Year's and Spring Break were all crazy busy last year. Our least crowded trip was a rainy weekend before Memorial Day. After that it was last week of September. Even 4th of July week was better than Christmas, New Year and Spring Break. Have fun!!

u do not need to wait. match mLife --> Hyatt now if u like.

Great churning/travel day for me today. Informed delivery is showing my Barclays Jetblue business card and DH's employee cards are in the mail. Will use Plastiq targeted 1% Mastercard offer to pay my student loan then pay cable and phone to knock out the $1,000 MSR!

On Saturday, DH applied for the Amex Everyday and was approved and my referral fee of $100 statement credit posted today.

I also booked our tickets to Italy for spring break of next year. My dates are fixed so I didn't want to mess around and wait for lower fares. I booked what I could afford and now I can stop obsessing and just plan our tours and research our trip!:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

I budgeted $2,000 for flights and got that for 4 people on Non Stop Round Trip (JFK to Milan) on Emirates. We are spending Easter in ITALY!!!pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Robert from Mileonomics just returned from Italy so I'm taking a close look at his itinerary and the tours he booked using Chase UR. I know I definitely want to do the Colosseum Underground Tour and the day trip to Pompeii and Amalfi Coast. I also want to do the Roman food tour where you make pasta and pizza with a local. Our Airbnbs in Rome and Venice are booked as well.

haha, no, im going this coming Friday. am told they will force us to put our phones into bags so no pictures allowed :(
only task i have so far is to look for Ewoks for @Lain wife lol

I'm also interested to know about the ewoks! I think you mentioned no food available right? I'd be interested to know what the different milks taste like. Not really sure milk on a hot Disney day sounds like a great idea... but who can resist the call of blue milk.

I would say the first week of June first. For a second choice probably thanksgiving week

First week of June then I’d say New Years week. I think after the 1st it dies down.

Thank you all! Thanksgiving next year would work well with our other vacation plans. June I'd have to give up something. Have an Alaska cruise booked for next June and was thinking Italy June 2021. Though it'd be nice to make it a longer trip and do Universal as well. But weather should be better in November vs June?

I like this site for crowd levels.

Sorry, I couldn’t get the link to copy and paste. I feel like a failure at times when I try to post.

Found it, thanks! :)

I came across this one too. Don't know how good it is, but I thought the black color coding was funny - "Don't blame me", "so many people you can't hear yourself think". :rotfl:

This is also something worth pointing out - I know a lot of churners who don’t carry AAA or roadside coverage with their auto insurance BECAUSE their CSR or Plat has it. BUT - you need to remember that if you cancel all of those cards. It’s becoming increasingly common in our group to cancel or downgrade your CSR (and not everybody has an AMEX Plat) so if you were counting on this benefit, make sure you address that in some fashion IF you get rid of your CSR. :)
AAA Plus gives you 100 miles of towing. CSR and AMEX Platinum don't give you that.

Great, thank you! So stay away from Folly Beach? Do you think the aquarium is worth going to?

Folly is where we hung out in high school. I’d prob say no to that. Sullivan’s is where adult locals go mostly.

I’m the wrong person to ask about the aquarium b/c my kids get bored at that kind of throng in an hour. Tbh, I do too. So it is a hefty entrance fee to only kill an hour of my day. It’s fine tho, if you like that sort of thing.
