You said you stayed in the Marriott downtown, in center city Philly? If so it's not you. I didn't connect it before but I'm pretty sure we stayed there years ago and were unimpressed. Figured they'd have had to update by now though, as it was over a decade ago when we stayed, but sounds like not. Sorry I didn't remember before to warn you. But really would have thought it would have changed by now. Go figure.

Yep. It really didn't feel like a nice hotel. I seriously doubt it was updated in those 10 years. Thanks for the confirmation that it wasn't just me. DH took pics of peeling paint, out of order signs, etc. It was honestly a bit depressing. Our room felt nicer than the rest of the hotel and at least we had a nice view.

14 is a hard age. (I would send you the hugs emoji but I'm not seeing how to make that happen.)

I've spend the past few hours sorting through my kids baby pictures -- and realizing that yes, the oldest just does have ten times more pictures than the youngest and no, there is not anything to do about that now. Maybe I should skip ahead to the pictures of their teenage years so I'll feel less nostalgic . . .

I have a challenging 10.5yo. I had hoped he'd settle by now but he hasn't and he's encouraging bad behavior in his younger brother. It's so hard some days I keep hoping each age will bring an easier kiddo but so far it's not happened.

I was raised by a single mom so I know how much work that is and I admire single moms!! In my case, my dh leaves for work at 7am, before the 10yo is up. Dh gets home at 6:30'ish and goes to bed at 9:00'ish so it's pretty much me for the weekdays. I try to let dh deal with him more on the weekends but even a lot of the weekends end up falling on me. He's exhausting. I know one day that he will finally settle but he's rough now. My girls were never this hard so maybe it's a boy thing and I've heard boys get easier at adolescence.

Any thoughts on Swan vs Dolphin? I know Dolphin has double beds, which will NEVER work but I read we could do a roll-away bed there so if I did one for each room, that would be 6 beds. Swan would be tight since it's only 4 beds and no roll-aways. Is there anything else I need to consider?

Today was the Mondayist Tuesday ever. I’m mentally exhausted. We just went through huge reductions at my company and lost so many good people. My position is safe (for now) but it was like the scene from a post apocalyptic movie. Even those who were told they were staying were walking around like zombies all day. I’m still a bit numb and shell shocked. Grateful to remain but hard to imagine going into work tomorrow.

And to add to the fun of today, DH called Barclays regarding his new Aviator as it wasn’t working even though activated. Apparently they want to see his articles of incorporation or tax docs and some other nonsense. I applied as a sole proprietorship in his exact first and last name using his SSN. Can we send in a copy of a bill that comes to our address in his name? He’s also going to call back and talk with them to ensure they’re showing a sole proprietorship.

I’m so sorry about your workplace situation. It’s sad to lose a friend even when they are moving on to greener pastures and you can be happy for them. My heart is hurting for you my friend.

I haven't seen it in person, but it looks pretty cool. I would definitely wear that even if I wasn't at Disney.

Oh my gosh you guys......so I gave my cats a pill each tonight per the vet's recommendation. Tomorrow morning I'm giving them another pill each and taking them on a half hour drive. The point is to get them used to riding in the car and taking the medicine. They are literally crashed and look dead right now lol. The cat that's not normally as cuddly with me is on my lap and she's soooo warm, but also getting extremely heavy. That is all.

I'd wear this for sure! Love the tiki room theme and wouldn't care if I was at Disney or not.

ETA: My dd's and I wear Disney clothes a lot of the time...I really hope others do this too lol...On halloween, one of the office ladies at our part time school wore all disney clothes and a disney hat and when people asked her who she was dressed up as, she said she was dressed up as my dd16 lol

Haven't seen it but I wonder how thick it is because it doesn't seem like it'd be that much more than a poncho. It doesn't look comfy, like if it's raining and warm out that's sticking to my arms, making me hot and chafing my elbow crease when I bend my arms. I guess if it's big enough or not warm out it'd be ok or if you had long sleeves on. Otherwise it's cute!

Yeah this is getting them ready for Florida. They look super sleepy and are just laying anywhere on the floor right now. We'll see how they feel tomorrow after I give them the second one. One of them meows really loud and is skittish so I'm hoping this will help calm him down a lot. What's funny is this is the same medicine Dh takes for his back pain, but the cat kind you break apart and pour the powder on their food.

Dude sits on the floor behind my seat when we go in the car since he was a puppy, his choice I can't get him to stay in the front. Probably better this way. Last month Mom and I took the boys for a sunday morning drive so we could go through the new tunnel in Seattle and hit the car wash on the way back. I had thought I'd taken Dude through a car wash before but apparently not because the next thing I knew it felt like I was watching It's Tough to Be a Bug because he managed to scrunch down enough to get under my seat. I drive a 2 door coupe that's low to the ground so the seats also don't have a ton of room under. He stayed there til we got home and I had to pull him out, he was half under on top of the ice scraper, window brush and squeegee I keep under the seat. We laughed so much.

Anyway, all this to say that even a normally decent car riding pet can have something set them off. Buddy has been known to bark at the windshield wipers, especially in the dark with snow/ice building up on them. So hilarious.
