Any thoughts on Swan vs Dolphin? I know Dolphin has double beds, which will NEVER work but I read we could do a roll-away bed there so if I did one for each room, that would be 6 beds. Swan would be tight since it's only 4 beds and no roll-aways. Is there anything else I need to consider?

We had an upgraded corner room at the Swan. It had a king bed, sleeper sofa and we asked for a rollaway. I called in after I booked the room and upgraded on points. Not sure what configuration you are needing, so this may or may not help.

Here is what I wrote in January:
Swan - upgraded to the Deluxe Alcove room (booked for 14,500 SPG points before the merger). Great room with a view of the Dolphin/pool/beach area. We had a rollaway bed brought in so the girls each had their own sleeping space. It fit perfectly in between the pull out sofa and wall. The bathroom configuration is great with a separate sink outside the bath. Sink, toilet, and walk-in shower in the actual bathroom. A refrig in room. I really like staying here except for the walk to the Dolphin to get counter service food.

This is a major selling point for me. I think I'll have to try a pair soon!

Thanks, I will! It didn't even occur to me to check with the company since it's really my own fault for not watching where I'm going.

Your mileage may vary but the company may want you to be happy. And great service may mean you buy another pair.

@wendow we stayed at the Swan. The rooms were large (we just had a standard, didn’t get an upgrade, never get a Marriott upgrade errr, but I digress) especially for Disney rooms. Since your doing a split stay you’ll probably do Epcot/DHS so you’ll be taking the boat anyways. Dolphin’s lobby has way more as far as food and basically just liveliness. If the bed size doesn’t matter (we are 4 so it does to us) I would have been happier at the dolphin. But don’t get me wrong loved the Swan so you can’t go wrong!!!

Just had a really good experience with Ebates customer service bot. I bought some Rothy's, but since I stopped midway through my order and went and found a link on Dischurners, it seemed that the order didn't track (maybe a new window opened up and I didn't notice?) So I used the automated customer service chat thing- it took my order number etc. and matched it to my shopping trip, then credited me for the purchase - its now showing up in my cash back. Super easy and worked really well! So feel slightly better about spending $$ on another pair of shoes because at least I got a little bit of a discount between the link and ebates!

SO and I will be spending our first wedding anniversary on an ABD!!! we are doing the backstage magic one. I have a year and a half to save about 6k from credit card bonuses/msing/bank bonuses. I think I can do it lol I kinda want to do one of these every year. I know a bunch of you guys have done these. does anyone have any suggestions for what we should do for 2021?

Have you checked expertflyer .com?
I did so last night, but I couldn't figure out how to tell if/when award seats were available. Perhaps that's part of the paid option? I will keep at it, though, thanks :-)

So far it looks like our best option will be to take a positioning flight to Houston, then take the nonstop IAH-SYD flight. The good connecting flights from EWR that I have seen over the past 6 months have disappeared :sad2: Perhaps that's a seasonal change, perhaps not, but I plan on checking often for multiple airports. Our booking days will be in October or November.

I plugged a cute “Small World” skirt on ModCloth the other day, but there weren’t any sales going on. ModCloth just sent out an email promoting their early Memorial Day sale, 40% off everything with promo code 40FORYOU. ModCloth is paying out 1.25% on Ebates, and 5% on TCB.

If we have any moles sniffing around our thread from the card issuers...we definitely throw them off with our tangents on pets and women's fashion!! :D HAHA!

On that note, I pulled up the Rothy's pair I really love to show DH yesterday and saw that they are retiring, so I'm probably out of luck on them restocking my size

We've just been home for a couple of days, but it was nice to see this morning that we got the $300 credit from our Lux plus the $40 one (stay at a Marriott) we added to the card. So $340 off a bill that was slightly over $600 for a hotel we had to book anyway? I'll take it. Plus 3 nights in NYC and 2 nights in Philly that were totally free!!! Couldn't have done it without all of you, so I want to express a big THANK YOU to everyone here. :goodvibes

When you say suggestions, I am not sure if you mean bank bonuses or ABDs. If ABDs, then I can offfer suggestions. If you are looking at domestic ones I can highly recommend both the New York City one and Winter in Wyoming. We would do these again in a heartbeat. For the international ones, China is outstanding and possibly in provides the most bang for your buck on a per day cost of trip. Italy, with Rome, Venice and Tuscany was amazing as well and is another one we’d repeat in a heartbeat.

Yes, ABDs lol. I kinda don’t want to do any domestic after CA. I lived in NY so zero interest in that. I’m thinking of stuff I probably can’t/too scared to do on my own. China seems awesome and I want to do italy so bad but I was thinking I could do it on my own but it may just be easier to have Disney handle it lol. Have you done my short list Costa Rica, Galapagos, Vietnam, South Africa? I was thinking of those and China. But I may also only be able to afford a short escape. So I was thinking of doing the Rome and Paris or something.

While I haven’t done those yet, I can tell you that Vietnam and South Africa get listed along with China as the best ABDs by those who have done multiple trips with ABD. Costa Rica and Galapagos also get high praise but the top ones always mentioned by the people who have been on a lot of them are always China, Africa and Southeast Asia.

Oddly enough, on our NY ABD we had some locals and they really enjoyed it. I’ve also spoken to other New Yorkers and they loved it too. I think I’d feel the same for a Miami ABD so I get what you mean.

Haven't people closed their Citi Biz accounts via chat? I just tried and was told I have to call.
I closed DH’s card through backdoor SM. Went to do mine but can’t find the SM any more. Not sure if they took it away or I just am not doing it right.

Thanks so much! I mean if I had unlimited money id love to do the NY ABD but I can’t do them all and I think that’s the one that is on the bottom of my list.
