Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

Since you will be in your room less than 24 hours and for many of those hours you’ll be sleeping, visiting the outlooks to view the animals makes the most sense to me.
The animals are called into the barns in the morning, they do one savanna at a time, so for 1 - 1 1/2 hr.s of your one morning the animals wouldn’t be on your savanna anyway. Whereas if you see no animals on one savanna from one viewing spot you can just wander over to another savanna’s overlook.
Arusha savanna’s overlook is out the back of the lobby at Arusha rock - but there are also balconies w/ seating adjacent to Arusha rock. Uzima savanna’s overlook is beyond the pool to the left, that’s where the night vision binoculars are as well. There’s a viewing area for Sunset savanna near the lobby in Jambo but the overlook in back of Kidani’s lobby (by Sanaa) has a better view IMO. They used to have night vision binoculars there as well, not sure if they still do. There’s an overlook for the small Pembe savanna by the Kidani pool.
I’m confused about your Sanaa ADR question - if you aren’t landing until 5:30 & likely arriving at AKL until 7, how can you even make a 5ish ADR? You can always spend time at the Kidani overlook while you wait for your Sanaa dinner if you are a bit early for Sanaa.
Thank you for your detailed reply, helped a lot. Sorry for the confusion, we will stay 1 night at families post cruise, trying to fit in AKL as much as possible.

My mom and I will be at AKL - Jambo from 7/19-7/22. First time at the resort... so happy to be able to make one of her dreams come true for a change.

From what I understand you can't call the hotel directly. So I'll just call the reservation line and hope for the best.
Even though we didn't get our requests for our split stay none of the locations we did get were terrible. We were at Disney so we were just happy to be there.
Thank you! °o°

So I used to keep the "list" here and I let it get away from me so I just started over...

Our family will be at AKL December 5-12, 2020🎄:cool1:

i purposely use vacation as a time to initiate change with the kiddos as I find it much easier. We discuss on “vacation things are different because we aren’t gone and that’s the fun part “before we leave
This worked to have the littles try new foods whatever you need.. vacations you can stay up late etc ...
That said after a long day st the parks I need a hot bath
Good luck

Just booked our vacation 01 October 2020 for 10 nights standard view at AKL. Never stayed there before although we have dined there. We had to cancel our plans this year so decided to pick this location. Now to get the research done and get to grips with everything for the trip. :flower3:

Are all rooms at Kudu Trail complete and will they beginning with Zebra trail? we have request Zebra Trail by Fax :-(

Any pictures of a Giraffe standard room view ?
Do the Giraffe standard rooms also have balconies on the higher floors ?
I am fond of AKL and want to stay there next time we go to WDW
But need the least expansive room.
The Giraffe side looks close to the buses and eateries.
Plus I like Giraffes ;)

I will be arriving at AKL Villas Jambo House standard view studio a week from today! Staying 4 nights and then transferring to BWV and then one night at POFQ (I know, I'm insane).

Super excited to enjoy both Jambo & Kidani with my husband and our 5 & 3 year old daughters.... we will definitely hit up the splash pad area at Kidani on our resort day. My girls get excited when staying at a Comfort Inn in Mason, Ohio, so seeing giraffes and flamingos behind the hotel should blow their mind. :)

Mason, Ohio??? That is near me! I know what you mean though! My girls love staying in any hotel. Although, since we have been going to Disney they’re starting to expect more out hotels!

We live in Indianapolis but try to get to King's Island every summer and hit up Planet Snoopy. Although it is certainly not Disney-level, it's a nice little vacation in which I don't have to secure ADR's 6 months early or Fastpasses 2 months ahead of time! ;)

Disney resorts will most certainly ruin my girls for anything else. Sorry, little ones, the Holiday Inn Express lacks a zero entry pool and theming. You'll just have to cope.
