Canadian Buffoon's Semi-EPIC Vacation - 10/29 - Link to new TR!

Finally joining into one of your reports somewhere near the beginning!

Susan! Hi!
:welcome: to the TR!
Sounds very Air Canada ish.....
Ha! Yes it does.
I traveled in your lovely home airport as I was visiting my aunt and cousins (River Heights and Charleswood...see I know my Winnipeg neighbourhoods!)
You do!
You should've said something,
we could've said "Hi". :)
That extra space is awesome!
::yes::
I love the Plus seats.
I get 'em whenever I can.

This is the first time I have ever felt good about flying directly through Toronto>
Oh? How so?
No harm done.
Camera was fine,
and who cares about

a little cranial trauma?
Crabcake looks great!
And the fritters.....
and the chowder! You picked everything I would pick.
It was all good,
but the winner was
the chowder. :)

Love my mom! Greatest person I know.

:goodvibes
I didn't miss it for a lot of years. I was happy to be doing my own thing in the summers but as I have gotten older I miss the carefree days of playing playstation in the cab while he drove, playing i spy and other driving games, and just hanging out with dad while seeing the country...oh and falling asleep to the rumble of the diesel engine and the a/c blasting on my face. I always slept against the vent.

Great memories right there. :)

Well, I made it on page 8. Ugh. I am still not done getting caught up on the last TR. Well, think I will just read through that one and not so much comment and try to start fresh on this one (even though I am already trying to get caught up).

Well, hi there!

Hello back!

Does that clear that up?

Yup, once again, clear as mud!

I'm me, pkondz, and she's her, Elle.
A father and daughter from the coldest
reaches of Canada.

Are you sure she is not pkondz and me is not Elle?

NO! HERE! HERE!
START HERE!!!

I didn't fall for it this time. I knew to look for another stop. But I did go back and read, cause inquiring minds gotta know!

With a surprise appearance by...

oops!

Did you constipation finally end?

I'm getting ahead of myself.

What's new?

April 29th.
It snowed this morning.
There is nothing else I
can add about this day.

What the crap is with all the snow in April this year? Ugh, just go away already!

Sure, I can say that I was
incredibly relieved to finally
be getting some time off...

But...

It snowed.

Right? What is time off if you have to shovel and de-ice!

April 30th
The alarm woke me
at a very pleasant 1:30
in the morning.

This sounds about like my travel day!

"Is it breakfast already?" look,
or a "Are you insane? Do you
know what time it is???" look.

Think it is the second one! They have been with you for a while now, so they know!

She'd waited until the last day to
take out the money.
Not just the last day... but the last
night.

Sounds about right!

Don't have kids, folks.
You heard it here first.

Then who will I have to dirty all the dishes and clothes so that I can spend countless hours washing stuff!

we headed out
and arrived at the airport
at 3am, two hours ahead
of flight time.

Deja Vu

We headed over to security
where we were met by
two unsmiling men who
informed us that security
wouldn't open until 3:30am.

This sounds exactly like my flight. With the exception of no one else there, it seems like we were mirroring each other only, a few days apart.
The major difference being, when I got into the airport, there was a line about 100 people long just to drop off luggage as there was a group of tourists from a corporation who had been gifted a trip and they all had matching shirts and everything. I kept getting asked by the people running the tour where my shirt was. I had to advise them that I was going to Disney, not there petty Punta Cana!

Have you ever seen
a more empty airport
security area???

No. I can't say I have.

(always travel with clean underwear.
umm... always travel with underwear.
I'm looking at you, Liesa.)

:rotfl2:My exact thoughts as well!

We were the first to board.
She looks happy about
her extra space, don't you think?

She sure does!

All I know is I was not on a
plane piloted by Frank and Beans,
or Frank and Stein.

BOOOO

In hindsight, I wish I'd put it
over someone else's head.
Because about 5-10 minutes
after we got going, it fell out
of the overhead bin and landed
on my head before falling into
the aisle.
There was a collective
"oooohhhhh!!!" from the
seats behind me.

I would have been one of those people behind you too. Sorry to hear you hurt your head!

I can always replace the plate
in my head, but a good camera
isn't easy to find in Disney.

If you could find a good camera in Disney, it probably would have cost you more than having a plate replaced in your head. Now I know that might not cost much up north, but here in the states, you would have to sell your left arm, right foot, your dog, your first born, and maybe even your spouse to have that plate replaced.

And...
Did you see it?

Nice Leather!

Talk To The Hand

Apologies in advance.
This is not a short update.

When we last left our
dynamic duo,
(Old timey shout-out
to Adam West)
we had just finished a
right tasty meal at Olivia's.
We had stowed our
carrions (shout-out
to Nebo) and were ready
to hit the parks!

Er.. park.

So... anyone know where
the bus stop is?

In my experience, you usually
head out the door and it's
either to the left or right.

When we set out in search
of the elusive OKW bus stop,
a DME bus was sitting right
in front.
Those things are the proverbial
best of times and worst of times,
aren't they?
They're the best thing in the world
when you arrive in Florida at MCO...
But on your departure day?
Would it be so bad if the engine blew?
Or it had multiple flat tires?
"Oh, gawrsh (shout-out to Goofy),
looks like we're stuck in Disney for
a little while longer!"

A quick look to the right revealed that
the bus stop was not in that direction.
That leaves... left.

We set out with alacrity and a song
in our hearts.
We were going to Disneyworld!
(No comments about how we were
already in Disneyworld.)

We marched smartly along...
Until we figured out that we
had no idea where we were going.
A quick 180-degree spin
(on tippy toes, of course)
and we reversed course back
to our point of origin.

I asked the CM at bell services
if he could tell us where the
bus stop was.

He pointed straight ahead.
"It's right there. You just can't
see it because the DME bus
is in front of it."

oh

We sheepishly moseyed over
to the bus stop and looked up
at the displayed ETAs.
It was 2:15pm.
"Hey!" I exclaimed.
"This is perfect! Our bus will be here
in 2 minutes and 46 seconds. Sweet!"

Stop laughing at me.

When a couple of minutes passed by
and it still said "2:46", I figured out
that it wasn't coming for half an hour.

I had forgotten to activate my
VIP bus pass before I left home.
I had been lulled into thinking
I had, because of our zero wait
for DME, earlier that day.

Oh, well, we took the opportunity
to explore the resort a bit while
taking absolutely zero photos of it.
(Not to worry. Those will happen later.)

Eventually, we wandered back to the
bus stop and at almost exactly 3pm,
we found ourselves...

Here:

Is there anyone who isn't
affected on some level by that
first view of the castle?

I didn't think so.

It was around this time
that I got a text from @docsoliday1
He wanted to know if we'd gotten
checked in.
Nice of him to make sure we got
settled and everything.
I told him we were in MK,
and that our room would be
ready when we got back.
He then texted that he was
at the front desk and was
leaving a few things for them
to put in our room. Surprise!

I was very shocked and flattered.
He texted that there were:
"3 things I wanted to do the
first time we met
1 for Elle
1 because of a movie we both like."

I had no idea. And told him so.

Okay. We're in MK.
It's 3pm.

Hmm... 3pm... people waiting
on the sidewalks...
I resisted the ridiculously large
urge to ask a CM what time the
three o'clock parade was.
I mentioned to Elle that the
parade was coming and it was
definitely worth seeing.
She loved the idea!
We were lucky to find a shady
spot right in front of the train
station and didn't wait long
before the parade arrived.
(In the above photo, you can
actually see a float in front
of the castle.)

I've never been a big fan of parades.
But this one is just so over the top
with the colours and designs of the
costumes and floats...

I love it.

So... prepare thineself for a
surfeit of sub-par parade photos.

DSC07130_zpspp1hdgcb.jpg

DSC07134_zpsasuuelcu.jpg

Is it just me?
Or does Belle look a little...
crazed, psycho-killer-esque?
"Ha! Ha! Ha! I love wearing
this massive gown in the
Florida heat and humidity!
Thank goodness I'm not also
pawed by a giant fur rug!
Because that would drive you insane!"

Oddly enough, despite the preponderance
of flowers on the float,
there was... this... odor...
emanating from it.

Well... to be frank... it seemed
to be coming from Cinderella.

"Cindy!" I called out.
(We're on a first name basis.)
"Did you scrub the loo with
your hand again?"

Sure, it was gloved... butt it wouldn't be
the first time she's done that.
(You can take the maid out of the scullery...)
Not only are we on a first name basis,
but we can tell each other anything.

Anything.
In fact, she relies on me.

"I don't think it's me!" She nervously
cried out.
And to prove it, she showed me her hand
while laughing uncontrollably.

DSC07137_zpst1l3ont1.jpg

"I can't really tell from here." I called out again.
"Maybe take a look yourself!"

She did.
Laughing hysterically the whole time.

DSC07139_zps04f2atwm.jpg

"I don't see anything!" She screeched.
I called back to her. "Well, there's something
that stinks! Did you smell your glove??"
She quickly raised her hand and took a whiff.

DSC07138_zpsdou8vuzw.jpg

Just then, Prince Charming fell
on his sword (so to speak) and
proclaimed for all to hear:

DSC07140_zpskrergfo7.jpg

"It is I! Prince Charming!
I am the owner of the smelly glove!
I fell in a pig's trough this morning
and soiled it thusly!
My bride, the Princess Cinderella,
smelleth not!"

Methinks he doth protest too much.

Don't you just love putting "th"s at
the end of wordths?

I digreth.

The firtht float is a veritable cornucopia
of royalty on wheels, with Tiana and Naveen
bringing up the rear.
(No offense to Cindy or her glove.)

DSC07142_zpsl2njijlb.jpg

The mark of a true prince.
Shielding his princess from
over-zealous paparazzi and
small, slobbering children.
"Back! Back, I say!"
I'm not sure Naveen gets the whole
"You're in a parade" thing.

Shortly after, dancers celebrating
gay pride came by.
I could be wrong about that.
But they were pretty flamboyant.

DSC07146_zpsqrwkxq3x.jpg

I'm gonna give 'em the
benefit of the doubt.

Finally, after an eternity of waiting,
(elapsed time... less than 5 minutes)
my fiancée made her appearance.

DSC07150_zpslqwt4hkk.jpg

If you're not familiar
with the story, allow me
to elucidate.

Ariel and I had a rough
start to our relationship.
First, my kid tagged along
making it awkward to put
my moves on... uh...
woo her.
But I solved that problem.

DSC09609_zpsjsvuekxz.jpg

Then I tried again when
I wasn't... encumbered with child.

PhotoPass_Visiting_MK_7804263630_zpshczddy07.jpg

Came on too strong.
Ariel's just not that kinda fish.

Finally, I realized what I had to do.
I got down on one knee and proposed.

ariel1_zpshpp2pwza.jpg

Sure, my kid wasn't too happy
about it, but she'll get over it
when Ariel brings her fresh
lobster and stuff.

Ariel and I are good now,
I think.
I just have to make sure
I introduce her to my
other kid some day.

Meanwhile, here she is,
gleefully showing off her
engagement gift:

DSC07153_zpsnuzzw11n.jpg

It didn't take her long for
her to spot me in the crowd.
I didn't want to bother her while
she's working, but...

DSC07155_zpsihhgp2ui.jpg

She blew me a quick kiss
and coasted on by.
We weren't worried.
We knew our time would come.

DSC07156_zps3nzhljs9.jpg

Okay...
More photos.
Because it's almost like
you've never seen this parade
before...

almost.

DSC07161_zps8okldxfg.jpg

"Gotta air out the ol'
armpits! Gets sweaty under
there in the Florida heat!"

DSC07162_zpshneac1wc.jpg

When I first saw Captain Hook,
I thought. "Must be hot wearing
a coat in the heat."

marvin-hook_zps4ublhche.gif

But have you ever tried unbuttoning
a jacket with only one hand?

I'm betting his seamstress must
be pretty busy.
"More holes? Can't you get Smee
to do your buttons?"

DSC07170_zpsvpsveqnv.jpg

Okay... so the question is.
Why is Tink holding a wand?
Maybe she's heading over to
Universal and Harry Potter land
after the parade?

That's probably it.

DSC07175_zps0vf8n6pv.jpg

Yeah, yeah.
I know it's a bagpipe
but I always think it
looks like a tea-pot.
(but thank goodness
they don't play it!)

DSC07178_zps8kussqpd.jpg

"Oh-ma-God, did you see Cindy?
I used her glove to clean the outhouse.
Hi-lar-ious!"

DSC07180_zpsj9bvqfca.jpg

"Look! I'm Madonna!
Strike a pose! I'm Voguing!"

DSC07183_zpsolsrrkeq.jpg

Of course she spotted me
and blew me a kiss too.
I get that a lot.
It's my rugged good looks
and killer charm.

Eventually, the dragon hove
into view.

DSC07185_zpsvpqnga54.jpg

I told Elle how about a year earlier
the dragon caught fire.

DSC07187_zpsu92yhogh.jpg

She was quite sad when I
told her that I didn't think
that it breathed fire anymore.

I took this shot, as a condolence:

DSC07189_zps3scmy0bb.jpg

And of course, as soon
as I took that picture and
put the camera down...
it breathed fire.

Oh well.

More photos.
Because you've never
seen this parade before!!!

DSC07191_zpssbcogyax.jpg

DSC07192_zpsump8zixz.jpg

DSC07194_zpsziyp4fdd.jpg

Why are you holding your hands
about eight inches apart, Alice?
Alice! You naughty girl!!!

You did not catch a fish that big!

DSC07195_zps1uyqd0ok.jpg

DSC07197_zpsh39ifzu3.jpg

Don't you think it'd be great
if the pantsless duck posed
by the pantsless prince over
at BOG?

Took this next shot for @Pluto0809

DSC07200_zpsmrzgjld5.jpg

Finally the head cheese
and cheesette came along
which meant it was now
safe to use the streets again.

Safe being another term for
exceptionally crowded.

Still... castle.

DSC07204_zps5l2hd84m.jpg

When we got to the top
of Main Street, we paused
for a bit to listen to some
ragtime outside Casey's.

DSC07209_zpspdta7sgj.jpg

This is one of my favourite
things in MK. It just... fits.

Even though I didn't get it
until later, I already had a
sneaking suspicion that I'd
be getting an AP.
So what do AP-ers do?
PP!
And get their photos taken, too!

420361016_zpsnexjqtfh.jpg

We wandered over to the
wishing well and I told Elle
to go and make a wish.
She told me she thought
she had a coin.
Perfect.
"Just let me get my camera
<Plink!> <splash!> ready..."

So instead you get this photo
of her looking in at her tossed coin.

DSC07211_zpskljerujn.jpg

We had a little bit of time to kill
before our first FP was due,
so we popped into Laugh Floor
where neither of us was "That guy"
or anything else.
We enjoyed it more than we
probably thought we would.

DSC07213_zpsanbj49em.jpg

When we got out, it was time
for our first FP of the trip!
The first time Elle came to Disney,
she was too little to ride the
"big people" rides.
The second time, she was pumped
about riding Space Mountain...
And it was down for refurb
the whole trip.
So this time... she was determined
to get her Space jam on!

DSC07214_zpsighfg34g.jpg

She was over-the-top excited
about riding it.
She wouldn't. Shut. Up!
Finally, we got on the ride
and I thought for sure she'd
pipe down.

Nope!

So as the ride started,
I reached over and choked
her until she stopped talking.

420408223_zpsadhgy41h.jpg

It was lonely visiting the parks
without her for the rest of the
trip, but much more peaceful.

Okay, okay. I didn't choke her
to death.
I stopped after she passed out.

To this day, she still thinks she
passed out from the excitement.
I don't disabuse her of the notion.

Once the ride was over and she
regained consciousness, we had
the better part of an hour to kill
before our next FP would come up.

We set out in the general direction
and were passing Storybook Circus
when she said she wanted to see it.

Sure!
Besides... I'd been looking for
Big Top Treats and hadn't noticed
it the last time I'd (hurriedly) been
through here.

And lo and behold. There it was.

DSC07216_zpsxu4ypzlv.jpg

IMG_1672_zpsm5gxim2s.jpg

mmm...
Except we didn't
get anything.
Not exactly sure why not.
But at least now I know
where it is.

"Dad? Can we ride Dumbo?"
Well, of course we can.
We got in line and I cracked
up when I read this woman's shirt:

DSC07218_zpsjckswoxq.jpg

In a very short time, we were on
the ride.
I remember when you'd wait an hour
or more for this ride.
Or have to rope drop it.
Not anymore.
Or maybe we just got lucky.

DSC07225_zpsxgvafenm.jpg

DSC07236_zpsgft0ub4a.jpg

It was time for our second FP
of the day. Any guesses where?
I'll give you a hint:
It was 7DMT.

420447990_zpsj45zalje.jpg

420448667_zpsrjcmpjow.jpg

Gonna go out on a limb
and say we liked it.

The ride itself is a coaster with...
Oh. Right. Nevermind.
You already know all that.

We headed back down Main Street.
Yes. Down.
Main Street slopes down,
away from the castle.
We had an ADR to get to,
but we did have enough time
for a short detour into the
Crystal Arts shop.
We saw this gentleman slowly,
precisely engraving a glass.

IMG_1673_zpsg8pfl4ry.jpg

The steadiness of his hands
was something to see!

I'd been told that they did
glass-blowing there and wanted
to see for myself.

And we were in luck!
Elena Taylor has been working
in glass for a little over five years.
She was creating a vase
for some guests.

IMG_1675_zpsj80sljls.jpg

IMG_1676_zpsg8ysciri.jpg

The process was a lot slower
than I expected.
It was fascinating, but we didn't
have the time to wait for the
finished product.

Minutes later we checked in at
our ADR, at Tony's.
We got there on time, but waited
twenty minutes before we were seated.

IMG_1680_zpsd4salhog.jpg

IMG_1679_zpsiiddtrza.jpg

I ordered something that I hadn't had
for over two months.
A Coke!

IMG_1681_zpscgysp7dr.jpg

I know... not Earth shattering.
But I'm pretty much addicted
to the stuff, so it was a big
deal to me!

Um... I may have had two and
a half glasses.

Okay, okay... two and a half
months isn't that long.
Felt long to me...

We got our bread service
while we waited for our
meals to come out.

IMG_1682_zpsjxdmc7sf.jpg

Okay, oil and bread is the
trendy thing to do I suppose...

But where's the good ol' fashioned
butter??? Amirite @vamassey1 ???

We didn't wait too long for the grub
to get plopped down in our faces.
(I'm trying my hand at TR reporting.
How'm I doin' so far?)

Of course, when at Tony's,
one must order the
spaghetti with meatballs.
One simply... must.

IMG_1684_zps6drooan4.jpg

Unless you're vegetarian,
like Elle is.
Then you have to decide
if you want marinara or alfredo.
Then you don't decide and order both.

IMG_1683_zpsntkvwvzh.jpg

Hidden Mickey spaghetti!
Now, I'm going to blow your
collective little minds here...

Elle mixed the two sauces together...
and not only did she love it...
but today I asked her:
"What was your favourite meal
at Disneyworld?"

Her answer?
"Tony's!"

You just never know
where your next favourite
thing will come from.
Take chances and try new
things, people.

After dinner, we rode a few
more rides.
You didn't think we were heading
out just because we hardly slept
did you???

Silly reader.

We popped on a quick ride
on the wildest ride in the wilderness.
This caught my eye.
I'm sure I've seen it before. Still...

IMG_1687_zpswgtm9znb.jpg

We skipped over to HM,
where I had not heard that
they were taking photos now.
Which explains why I look
like a moron and Elle looks
confused.

420571271_zpsgbewrute.jpg

Okay, I look like a moron...
more than usual.

After we exited the ride,
we paused to read the
engravings on the crypts
and to see the pet cemetery.
To which Elle remarked.
"Meh. We have one in our freezer."

So... up here, we have snow on
the ground for almost half the year.
When a goldfish dies, and you have
an overly sensitive kid who won't
let it be "buried at sea" or a hamster
bites the biscuit and she refuses to let
Hammie go to that dumpster in
the sky...
Your freezer becomes a temporary morgue.
Last rites included for an extra fee.

It was getting late and we didn't
feel like standing in line for anything,
so we checked for FPs and hopped
on POTC and got another FP after
for Jungle Cruise.

We had a great skipper.
She even made me the captain!
Nope. Not kidding.
Then she told me that if the
boat sinks, the skipper skips out
and the captain goes down
with the ship.

Dang it!!!

At one point we were surrounded
by hungry hungry hippos.
But our skipper said she would
scare them off just like she did
with all her relationships.
She called out "I love you!"
and it worked!

Okay, enough rides.
We need some sustenance!

IMG_1688_zpsxdjrrre7.jpg

Time for some Citrus Swirls!
I hadn't had one before and...
Well, it was good, don't get me wrong,
but it wasn't nearly as good as a Dole whip.
Still good, though.

Soon after, the fireworks started
and we watched them near Casey's
over some trees.
We couldn't see the castle,
and we were both okay with that.
We'd have another chance later
in the week for that.

I asked if Elle wanted to leave
or try for another FP, or... ?
"FP Pooh!" She said.
So I did.
But when we got there,
the ride was down.
No Pooh for us.
Kinda like when I cross a border.

Okay, we can't go anywhere from there
but... down.
We took a dive and got to meet
some fish.
(Sorry for the poor quality,
Was only shooting with my phone.)

IMG_1693_zpsya1melka.jpg

IMG_1695_zpssvmqw8bo.jpg

"Hey boys. I know what you like.
No backtalk, right?"

IMG_1698_zpsymcbpih8.jpg

I always feel so bad on this ride.
Poor Ariel, being conned into
marrying that cad, Eric.

I've said it before and I'll say
it again.
That fish's drink was spiked.
I mean... just look at her!

IMG_1700_zpsd2ehjkfy.jpg

"I'm so high... where are we?..."

IMG_1701_zpsz75pcqla.jpg

"Whoa... look, your hand is in 3D..."

IMG_1702_zpshtuunv3c.jpg

"My Dad's a fish too, you know. Is that cool?"

IMG_1703_zpsbf75zhl6.jpg

"I don't know what's going on,
but it's all so groooovy."

We left the poor girl to her fate.
There was nothing I could do.

For now.

Leaving Ariel to a fate worse
than death, we headed out
of the park and to the bus stop.
We arrived at 9:55pm and the
bus was already there.
There was a line, but we just
managed to get on.
I think we were the last ones
allowed on.

I love my VIP bus pass.

We arrived at the resort at 10:15pm.
We got off at the first stop,
which was only a minute walk
from the main building,
which in turn was only a minute
walk to our own building.
We were in building 64, room 6433.

DSC07238_zps4ireysue.jpg

Notice the package on the table?

DSC07239_zpsf1voyvic.jpg

Behold the throne of wonders!!

DSC07240_zpsizadurii.jpg

After doing my TR duty
and photographing every
nook and cranny of the room,
I turned my attention
to the small pile on the table.

On top was a magnet from
"the movie we both like",
A Christmas Story.

IMG_1707_zpsbbjpmwbd.jpg

I was so excited, I almost
shot my eye out!
Underneath were these Peach Buds.
Hard candies that he'd tried to find
for me the first time we met in Atlanta.
Oh ho! Sot that's what he meant!

And I don't have a photo of it,
but he bought a mug for Elle.
He'd asked what her favourite
movie was and I'd told him
that it was Lady and the Tramp.
(Which also explains why we
ate at Tony's now, doesn't it?)
So Doc got her one of those mugs
that are all black but when exposed
to heat, reveals a picture.
It was a very well done, intricate
scene of the village where the
movie takes place.
We boiled some water and
watched it appear.
Elle loved it!
As a matter of fact,
we had spaghetti for dinner
tonight and she used it.

I don't remember why now,
maybe I just wanted to see
if it was running or not,
but I opened the fridge and...

Gross!!

Someone had left their leftovers
in there!
I could see a tinfoil wrapped object.
I was glad that at least it didn't stink,
but who knew how long it had been
in there?
I hoped that it was only from earlier
that day when the previous guests
would've moved out.
I picked up the offending package
and...
Well, if it doesn't stink, I can just toss
it in the trash, but if it does, I'm going
to have to find another trash, outside.

I unwrapped it and...

Oh. My. God.

Doc had baked us a cheesecake
and had given me some of what
he described as "the best bacon
you'll ever eat."

IMG_1709_zpshltgtaqp.jpg

By 11:30pm, Elle and I were
both relaxing in bed happily
munching on a slice of cheesecake.
(And wow was it good!)

I can't think of a better way to end the day.

And...
If you missed it in
the last update:

IMG_1649c_zpsvdrvlszr.jpg

Did you see it
in this chapter?

Are you still reading
after all that?
Congratulations!

Coming up... A little moisture.

I was able to read all the update before I left for work, but no time to reply. Maybe I'll test out this whole easier to mutiquote on phone theory. :lmao:

You know...he's a lot easier to see when he blinks.

Apologies in advance.
This is not a short update.
We're used to your long win...err...wonderful updates.

Glad it's not short, then I'd have to stoop down to see it.

When we last left our
dynamic duo,
Just please, no zap, bang, pow, biff.

So... anyone know where the bus stop is?
It's right in front if you.

When we set out in search of the elusive OKW bus stop, a DME bus was sitting
It's on the other side of DME

A quick look to the right revealed that
the bus stop was not in that direction.
That leaves... left.
Not that way! You're walking towards your room.

We marched smartly along...
Until we figured out that we
had no idea where we were going.
Ever get the feeling people aren't listening? I told you it wasn't that way

I never get lost, people always tell me where to go

He pointed straight ahead.
"It's right there. You just can't
see it because the DME bus
is in front of it."
See???
I kept trying to tell you

They're the best thing in the world
when you arrive in Florida at MCO...
But on your departure day?
Would it be so bad if the engine blew?
Or it had multiple flat tires?

Nope, would not mind being stuck in Disney for a bit longer. Although I would rather be stuck at the hotel than stuck along the side of the road on the way to the Airport.

He pointed straight ahead.
"It's right there. You just can't
see it because the DME bus
is in front of it."

:rotfl2:

"This is perfect! Our bus will be here
in 2 minutes and 46 seconds. Sweet!"

Stop laughing at me.

When a couple of minutes passed by
and it still said "2:46", I figured out
that it wasn't coming for half an hour.

:rotfl:I think I'm going to be using a lot of laughing smilies on this reply because I laughed a lot while reading it.

Is there anyone who isn't
affected on some level by that
first view of the castle?

If they aren't then they are no friend of mine!

I've never been a big fan of parades.
But this one is just so over the top
with the colours and designs of the
costumes and floats...

I'm not the biggest fan either but I do agree that this one is fun to watch. Especially the Maleficent dragon, she's just so awesome.

"It is I! Prince Charming!
I am the owner of the smelly glove!
I fell in a pig's trough this morning
and soiled it thusly!
My bride, the Princess Cinderella,
smelleth not!"

I laughed throughout the entire parade at all your descriptions of what the characters were up to. I will admit that Cinderella does have the "something stinks" face in a few of the pictures.

When I first saw Captain Hook,
I thought. "Must be hot wearing
a coat in the heat."

And he's being spied on by a little alien!

Eventually, the dragon hove
into view.

There's my favorite! I was so happy to see her back again and breathing fire. Like you, I didn't think she would do that anymore. Hopefully Disney put in some more safety measures so she doesn't burn again.

Took this next shot for @Pluto0809

Yay! There's my guy. pluto:

Continued Next Post

It should read "Continueth Next Post"

When we got to the top
of Main Street, we paused
for a bit to listen to some
ragtime outside Casey's.

I need to stop and listen to this more often but I never seem to be there at the right time to catch a performance.

So as the ride started,
I reached over and choked
her until she stopped talking.

:lmao:

Besides... I'd been looking for
Big Top Treats

Mmmmmm. I could use about half that case right now.

I remember when you'd wait an hour
or more for this ride.
Or have to rope drop it.

Since they added the second Dumbo, I don't think I've ever seen the line more than 30 minutes. Plus if you do have to wait, there's indoor seating with air conditioning!

I'd been told that they did
glass-blowing there and wanted
to see for myself.

And we were in luck!

Another thing I never seem to be there at the right time to catch. And I always visit that store to look at the jewelry and for any new Pluto stuff.

I ordered something that I hadn't had
for over two months.
A Coke!

I tried that this spring, decided I wanted to be healthier so I cut out fried food and soda. I lasted about 2 months before I went back to drinking Coke. I'm still doing OK with the fried food, only eat it once or twice a month.

"What was your favourite meal
at Disneyworld?"

Her answer?
"Tony's!"

Meh. I found my meal there kind of lackluster. It was OK but if I'm going to have Italian I'd much rather eat at Mama Melrose or one of the restaurants in the Epcot Italy pavilion.

We skipped over to HM,
where I had not heard that
they were taking photos now.
Which explains why I look
like a moron and Elle looks
confused.

:rotfl2:There were some great photos from our group on this ride since very few people knew where the camera was. Sad thing, I did know where the camera was and yet I'm staring randomly at the ceiling in the picture. :confused3

To which Elle remarked.
"Meh. We have one in our freezer."

:scared1: I was picturing some kind of horror movie with a freezer full of dead pets. But I do get it after I read your explanation. I guess though that I can't say too much because three of ours are in urns on our mantel.

Did you see it
in this chapter?

Yep!

Are you still reading
after all that?
Congratulations!

Of course! With all of that you are sure going to have a lot of shout outs to do. ::yes::

Y'all are wimps! I've gone years and years without drinking coke.

I drink Pepsi.

Although, not often for that either...1 maybe every 4-6 months.

Meh. I found my meal there kind of lackluster. It was OK but if I'm going to have Italian I'd much rather eat at Mama Melrose or one of the restaurants in the Epcot Italy pavilion.
That's why I haven't gone to Tony's...most of the reviews I've seen were meh or yuck. I've seen a couple good ones, but they're rare. Since my wife is Italian and makes killer home made stuff, I'm hard to please and if most reviews are meh or worse, not gonna risk it.

So...where is the photo? I think I know where it is, because it seems a certain picture in the first hallway flashes for every doom buggy, but the last couple times I rode it, I tried to pose at that spot and it doesn't seem my photo matched. On the other hand, I want to say there was at least twice where I got NO picture at all.

Yep, you are correct, it's in that first hallway where the pictures change. The flash from the camera is masked in the "lightning" flashes. I'm pretty sure it's right at the last portrait but I only rode it once in May. @missjackiemcg may be able to answer better because she got an awesome ride photo when she rode it again later that week.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Tony's. We are doing the parade package in Oct. since it gets us a little more value out of our dining credits and I really want to watch it as I have not seen it yet.

Thank you for the parade commentary, loved it! I wondered why Cinderella was always waving her gloved hand :rotfl2:

We are trying Tony’s in August because of the vegetarian choices and of course Lady and The Tramp!

I am loving all the hilarious HM photos!

Thanks for giving the Building and room # at OKW, I am going to request that area for our January trip

I tried a piece of Doc’s cheesecake and it was so delicious, not to heavy just perfect!

Does Ariel have a restraining order yet:lmao:🤣

Apologies in advance.
This is not a short update.

You're not lying!

We marched smartly along...
Until we figured out that we
had no idea where we were going.
A quick 180-degree spin
(on tippy toes, of course)
and we reversed course back
to our point of origin.

Kind of sounds like you're going around in circles.

We were lucky to find a shady
spot right in front of the train
station and didn't wait long
before the parade arrived.

Great spot so close to parade time.

I've never been a big fan of parades.
But this one is just so over the top
with the colours and designs of the
costumes and floats...

I love it.

I love this parade too!

Finally the head cheese
and cheesette came along
which meant it was now
safe to use the streets again.

I really enjoyed your commentary on the parade. I laughed hard & I laughed a lot.

This is one of my favourite
things in MK. It just... fits.

Yes it does. It's been years since we stopped & listened. I'm hoping to do this on our next trip.

You know you're doing the pointing thing wrong?

We enjoyed it more than we
probably thought we would.

We enjoy this too! It's in the AC and it's funny.

What did Elle say when she saw this?

mmm...
Except we didn't
get anything.
Not exactly sure why not.
But at least now I know
where it is.

I hope you got something later in the trip.

In a very short time, we were on
the ride.
I remember when you'd wait an hour
or more for this ride.
Or have to rope drop it.
Not anymore.
Or maybe we just got lucky.

I remember planning our morning around riding this at rope drop. It's kind of sad that it's not a big deal anymore.

Gonna go out on a limb
and say we liked it.

I would agree with that.

The process was a lot slower
than I expected.
It was fascinating, but we didn't
have the time to wait for the
finished product.

I need to try to catch this someday.

But where's the good ol' fashioned
butter??? Amirite @vamassey1 ???

I was just thinking the same thing!

Hidden Mickey spaghetti!
Now, I'm going to blow your
collective little minds here...

Love it!

Elle mixed the two sauces together...
and not only did she love it...
but today I asked her:
"What was your favourite meal
at Disneyworld?"

Her answer?
"Tony's!"

I agree with mixing the sauces. Years ago we would get chicken parm at a place her and both sauces were on their dish. Since then we always ask for some of both. I know Tony's gets a bad rap but we've always had a good time there as a family. Not the best food but it's not bad and we enjoy ourselves.

I think this looks like you've made friends with a ghost and Elle is being skeptical about your new friend.

So... up here, we have snow on
the ground for almost half the year.
When a goldfish dies, and you have
an overly sensitive kid who won't
let it be "buried at sea" or a hamster
bites the biscuit and she refuses to let
Hammie go to that dumpster in
the sky...
Your freezer becomes a temporary morgue.
Last rites included for an extra fee.

Wow, I guess you have to do what you have to do.

No Pooh for us.
Kinda like when I cross a border.

:rotfl2:

"I don't know what's going on,
but it's all so groooovy."

You're right, she does look stoned. I'll never be able to look at this ride the same again.

I love my VIP bus pass.

I'm so glad you found it.

Doc had baked us a cheesecake
and had given me some of what
he described as "the best bacon
you'll ever eat."

I've heard him "talk" about both of these. He really did you up right.

By 11:30pm, Elle and I were
both relaxing in bed happily
munching on a slice of cheesecake.
(And wow was it good!)

I can't think of a better way to end the day.

Me either.

Did you see it
in this chapter?

I did! I think he was winking at me.

WOOOOOHOOO UPDATE TIME!

He pointed straight ahead.
"It's right there. You just can't
see it because the DME bus
is in front of it."

Probably missed the first bus looking for the stop.

Is there anyone who isn't
affected on some level by that
first view of the castle?

Ah it is so purdy!

He then texted that he was
at the front desk and was
leaving a few things for them
to put in our room. Surprise!

What a nice guy!

I digreth.

You had me laughing out loud in class with this one.

So as the ride started,
I reached over and choked
her until she stopped talking.

It's not child abuse if nobody sees you....I guess....I am just trying to protect you.

Except we didn't
get anything.

Wow I am drooling.

I'm sure I've seen it before. Still...

This is what makes Disney great.

After we exited the ride,
we paused to read the
engravings on the crypts
and to see the pet cemetery.
To which Elle remarked.
"Meh. We have one in our freezer."

Ally says stuff like this to me all the time, dang pescatarians.

No Pooh for us.
Kinda like when I cross a border.

Again I am laughing out loud in class.

Well, I made it on page 8.
So you did!
Infinitely better than
page 9!!

:welcome: to the TR, Jenn!!
Nice to "see" my pizza

buddy again. :goodvibes
Ugh. I am still not done getting caught up on the last TR.
Sorry!
But it's in hiatus right now.
Well, think I will just read through that one and not so much comment and try to start fresh on this one (even though I am already trying to get caught up).
Sounds like a plan. :)
Yup, once again, clear as mud!
I have a knack for that.
Are you sure she is not pkondz and me is not Elle?
me is not telling.
I didn't fall for it this time. I knew to look for another stop. But I did go back and read, cause inquiring minds gotta know!
Did you constipation finally end?
:lmao:
What's new?
This feels like a joke...
"What 'snue'"?
"I dunno, what's new with you?"
What the crap is with all the snow in April this year? Ugh, just go away already!
So glad that nonsense
is over for a few months.

Right? What is time off if you have to shovel and de-ice!
Correct. :sad2:
This sounds about like my travel day!
Oh?
Think it is the second one! They have been with you for a while now, so they know!
::yes::
Then who will I have to dirty all the dishes and clothes so that I can spend countless hours washing stuff!
Aren't they a blessing?????

I'm trying to be positive here.

I really am.
Okay... now you have to
tell me about it.

I had to advise them that I was going to Disney, not there petty Punta Cana!
oops. sounds like you did
tell me about it!

Punta Cana? Ptewie!

Disney's where it's at, baby!
:rotfl2:My exact thoughts as well!
 She's not gonna
live that one down!

Right???
Tragic.

I would have been one of those people behind you too. Sorry to hear you hurt your head!
Oh, I was okay.
I have a fairly hard noggin.

If you could find a good camera in Disney, it probably would have cost you more than having a plate replaced in your head. Now I know that might not cost much up north, but here in the states, you would have to sell your left arm, right foot, your dog, your first born, and maybe even your spouse to have that plate replaced.
I just remember Liesa's
story of looking for a tripod.
"That thing the camera sits on?"

I'm thinking I ain't gonna find

a camera at Disney!
Nice Leather!
;)
I actually saw the time-lapse video of the Frozen plane some time ago. You might enjoy it...
