I'm so tired of this insurance company the other party had when they rear ended us back at the beginning of the year. They shorted our repair shop $1000 on the charges. $900 of it is challenging the shop's labor rates. I feel like this is a game anyways typically, when it comes to the insurance, the repair shop or home repair or whatever it is, starts high on hours and rate and then hashes it out to something agreeable with the insurance adjustor. But it feels incredibly frustrating right now as we've used 3 other insurance companies with this shop for things and none have ever challenged the labor rates of this shop.

Is anyone working on any good $250+ bank bonuses at the moment? Just finished WF and thinking about doing the Citi $500 ($400 for $15k deposit + $100 for direct deposit) for DH. I just closed my account last month so will need to wait a few months until I can apply again.

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/citi...lable-nationwide-direct-deposit-not-required/

I also just did the WF. It was my first bank bonus! I'm considering either doing the WF for DH or I was looking into the BMO Harris $700 bonus ($400 checking, $200 Money Market and $100 for doing both). I need to look into it a bit more though. I also need to look at the Citi one you mentioned above. That sounds good too.

@mmmears, I hope you didn’t select “Educational Services, Colleges/Universities/Professional Schools” during sign up. If you did, I’d consider canceling this app and reapplying in a month under a different category.

Several reports on r/churning and then DoC reported that Chase was force converting rewards earning business cards like the Chase Ink cards under this category to the no rewards Chase Business Capital because they are ‘government entity clients’ and want to avoid a potential conflict of interest.

Yikes. She said it was tutoring since that's something she has done over the years. I hope that is ok.

That's what I told my ex when he asked me to take my dd to the University of Chicago (over my dead body is she going there and my dad has a PhD from there so I know it's a fantastic school). We're wimpy Virginians. Chicago winters suck and I don't want to have to visit her in the cold:) Although the shopping is good.

My CA girl wanted to try out a real winter, so we let her apply wherever she wanted. It worked out well for her, and she wanted to spread her wings and become more independent so we weren't visiting much anyway. Now with Norway winter coming I think she's actually a bit worried. That makes US winters look like child's play. :rotfl:

Educational Services > Colleges, Universities, and Prof Schools is what was getting targeted for forced conversion.

Educational Services > Educational Support Services is ok. > Other Schools and Instruction (where you'd find Exam Preparation and Tutoring) should be fine too.

FOMO is real. Saw the chatter about the Barclays Arrival+ and zombie links so I applied and got approved today! Used the updated link on DoC that @Lain posted earlier. Thanks for that, Sir :cheer2:!

Got the "Your application is being reviewed" message initially. Called recon 1-866-408-4064 after a couple of hours, verified that I was the one applying for the card (DOB, SSN), and I was approved. I also confirmed that the 70K offer was attached to my application. I was at 4/24, so now I'm 5/24 until August. I have an ancient Barclays Upromise that hasn't seen any spend since August last year (~$25 then). I have now technically churned this card, although the last time I had it was in 2013 lol.

Tagging @kayteekt and @KPK02090 - maybe you can call in like I did, if you're impatient like me. :teeth:

I had previously asked about the Discover It Miles card on here using it to pay my mortgage, and realized that I could get the same amount of cash back for the MSR on the Arrival+ so that won my 5/24 slot. Plus I can still use it to pay my mortgage - win/win!
Thanks for posting this. I was impatient too and finally got a chance to call. They transferred me to security, asked my mother’s maiden name, my street address, how long I’ve lived here, my middle name maybe one or two other simple questions and then told me I was APPROVED! Woo hoo!

Congratulations to everyone with approval and bonus posting news today :cheer2:

Well I can’t get squat out of Amex but guess what just showed up in my SW account tonight? 15k bonus points for the 15% bonus offer in feb/mar/April! Guess the bonus miles did work!
I went and checked my dh's account since he had the promo too. He only got 9,112 bonus miles from it. Definitely not 15% since the bonus points were 110k and then 5k MSR, but I am not complaining about a free 9k points!
Yay, Dh got 9,177 points. His personal card points had posted before the promotion started so I knew he would only get 9000 something. Maybe yours also posted before it started.
I got 9,650 bonus points today. I'm pretty sure I had met MSR on the personal before the promotion started and maybe the BIZ statement had cut once. But hey, Im pretty happy to have a higher balance today than yestereday!
I thought I remembered that! We were in Naperville on that family trip, because my sister had a show choir competition

DH got 9128. I know one of his bonuses poster before the promo period. I had a moment of, wait hes got 30 more mins in the air for his Chicago flight and that's twice as many points as he should earn for it! Lol
Yay! You guys are right, I was totally not expecting that! I only got 7832, but I'll take it!

I got in on the Ebates 10% back with a couple hours left, using the Saks credit on DH's shiny new Plat. I almost completed the transaction until I realized "Hey, do I need to enroll in the Saks benefit to get the credit?" UH, YES, YOU DO. I chatted with Amex, and felt like I was certain to have a fail when the rep said it could take up to 24 hours for that status to be updated. But after a couple minutes, the rep confirmed I was approved for the enrollment and I took a screenshot of that chat just in case. I also used a first-time Saks user 10% promo code. Totally bought stuff I would never buy but for this "free" Saks credit.
Yay! DH got his as well.
DH received almost 14000 RR points for the SW promotion! Now I'm really considering that quick trip to WDW before school starts up again.

I'd most likely use AA points for the hotel, but here's the problem. My MSR is 5k and my CL is only 3k. Closing date is 6/19 and I've spent about $2300 so far. Question - if I pay the $2300 balance now and hit the MSR by 6/19 so my points will post, is that going to send any red flags to Citi? If we go, it will be around 8/23, so I want to book in time for the 60 day window.

And I had 15000 RR appear overnight! :woohoo:

Went on the DVC tour and was ready to buy because he said he would check about getting me a room at the Grand Californian for my birthday trip in September. He ran my credit but I could not get the stay at the Grand Californian. Waste of a hard pull. Now I’m moping around the magic kingdom wishing I was a dvc member. One day guys one day...

Any thoughts of CIP #2 as a business or "business"?
Both DH and I have/had 2 CIPs and all are "businesses". No problems. Yet I'll add, since this is a loophole they can close any time. I am planning on trying for CIP #3 for me (2 open at same time) on June 22nd. The CIPpy cup :drinking1is too good not to try. I think shut down is very, very small possibility; almost none. Rather the worst thing to happen is decline on the application.

Any thoughts of CIP #2 as a business or "business"? Last week I cancelled P2 CIP #1 from our business. Wondering if I should apply for CIP #2 with just his name and SS#. He won't like having to call in to talk about his "business", but won't bother him to talk about the business. Like most of us, he doesn't like having to talk to them.
For me I applied name and SS number twice

Sorry that happened to you, but it's not super surprising. They can't make up points to get you your Welcome Home booking, the most they can do is pull from the cash side - if there are even any GC villas left. Given how small the resort is, that doesn't surprise me.

I've always been very happy with our guide. She's been direct and I never felt like she was hiding anything (which I verified thanks to research). If you aren't happy with your assigned guide, it can always be changed. Feel free to message me if you want a new one.

The resale restrictions with Riviera are worth consideration as well if you're buying that resort direct.

HSBC also has one for $350 for $10k. I did the Citi one about 9 mo ago and was only going to take enough out to open a new at HSBC but honestly i very much dislike Citi and had issues transferring to my main bank which is Chase so I just transferred everything to HSBC.

My AC has been out since early Sunday morning. Fortunately it's been a cooler week here, but even still it was 85 degrees upstairs when I got home from work yesterday. The HVAC guy came out today since he's been swamped with work all week. The good news is he figured out what's wrong with it and my home warranty has now paid for itself because it's covering the $1400 part that has to be replaced. The bad news is the part won't be here until Monday 😭 He's going to see if he can get it here by Friday, but said it's more likely Monday. It's supposed to be 88 Sunday and 90 on Monday.

I think DH has turned the corner becoming a willing P2! He grumbled about going through the CIP verification process over the phone, preferring his "CFO" handle those matters. However, he just texted, letting me know about a Marriott Bonvoy Visa email he received, and included the SUB amount! I wonder how many of those he's deleted without a second thought in the past year?

Great news that your warrantly is covering the part! But a full week with no AC - no thank you! Could you consider temporarily installing a window unit? We've been able to survive a couple of hurricane-related power outages using a unit hooked up to a generator. Held onto the unit & pulled it out of storage when our AC decided to die on an August Sunday, and couldn't get a tech out until Tuesday.
