Well, as you know I am BRAND NEW to ebay selling, and you may have read my post a few zillion pages back where I was contacted by an International buyer and asked if I would be willing to ship it to him (shipping was gonna cost him more than the item itself, but I digress).

It's my first ebay sale ever, and it hasn't arrived yet but the tracking shows it to be in Warsaw (he is in Poland although I don't recall which city... not that it matters because I know nothing about Poland's geography). I will update when he has finally received it but I can tell you that at least on this end, ebay made it seamless as far as the shipping portion. It auto-calculated the shipping costs and all (which I didn't know it would do). I did have a few bad days when it appeared to be sitting in LA for three days with no activity but then suddenly it was in NY and then in Warsaw.

I am not sure that is useful as I have nothing to which to compare international vs domestic shipping... hopefully someone with real experience will chime in.

Thanks for the report. Your crazy buyer is actually the kind of person who might justify the hassle of shipping internationally -- someone abroad who doesn't have the same access to things that people here do, but really wants something particular. In the past, IIRC, eBay's estimates of shipping costs were not especially accurate but maybe that has improved (it has been many years since I relied on eBay for shipping estimates).

And maybe I'm just a bad person, but once I've delivered the item to the shipper (and it's insured), I don't worry about how fast it gets there -- that's the shipper's issue. If it gets delayed, not my fault.

No - this was just an issue a few weeks back.

You’ve been here a long time. You’re one of “us”
:)
AND we openly invited that person to continue to be a part of this here (and meant it). We just wanted to make sure that the detailed and thoughtful responses that some of our experts were providing were actually being read. It was just disheartening to see paragraphs of valuable information being disregarded. :)

When was this? Was this during the week I was traveling because I think I missed all of it, and I do try to read every post every day, but I know there were about 9 days when I didn't get online at all. Just curious. I always miss all the drama...

Wow, 2 hours! Eek! We picked ours up there in Jan 2017, Saturday early afternoon and it was just a few mins wait. I would never have thought it could get up to 2 hours.
Well have to keep in touch Thursday. Current plan is uber from MCO to Swan, Epcot for Illuminations merchandise, then MK. But this week is kicking both our butts :faint:
IMHO the GS at Epcot IG is rarely crowded...that might be an option too-since you're at SWan anyway

I agree that it's just ridiculous these days, yet they are filling the parks. DH and I saw the last round as a sign that we should look elsewhere for our vacation fun and voted with our $$$. As you know there are lots of nice places to explore out there, and we are going to try to see a few of them. The parks will be there when we want to go back and by then there will be new things to see and do. I will say that I'm glad I'm not locked into Disney vacations at this point since the park tickets alone have gone up so much over the last 10 years.

I'm sorry if I sound negative, because I sometimes see this as a positive in that there are some great trips we've had that we never would have taken if we hadn't started to think that going to WDW or DL wasn't a great deal. And I am so so glad we took those trips.
I’m right there with you. I think seeing the rest of the country and beyond is a lot more appealing to me. We may just stick to ticketed events and leave it at that.

This is so hard to call since I haven't seen any reports of people missing their bonus. Until we get a "met MSR on day 94 and 2 statements closed without bonus, Chase said too bad so sad" it's hard to say the 90-92 day time frame is enforced. That said, who wants to be the DP on this one???

Down in one of the comments DoC referenced u/JerseyKeebs posted about their close call that happened just in the last 2 weeks.
Charge that put it over MSR has a transaction date of 92 days but posted fully a few days later, and (sigh of relief) got the bonus. Either the buffer zone still exists and it's just not being advertised, or it's going off transaction date rather than posting date (which would be fair) and most MSR windows will be around 92 days per the tracker calculations. (which is just adding 3 to the month)

This does make it a little more critical to track approval dates unless you plan on knocking out MSR's way ahead of schedule. Also need to plan opening cards too, to adjust your window. I applied for the CIP a little ahead of schedule because I saw an opportunity to shift some spend around for a greater good, and with the 115 day window was still very covered to meet the MSR. If it really is the 90-92 days then I have to move up a payment a bit. Nothing ground breaking, fortunately, once I got the first statement date it was looking like I'd fall into the same statement cycle anyway so paying it a few weeks early won't make a difference.

Y’all. My dh has gone more cray-cray than Disney. Anyone who is very knowledgeable about dvc willing to pm and chat? Don't want to clog up the board with a bunch of very newbie questions but I'd rather ask my friends here than go to the dvc forums...

I’m loving this DVC talk though lol I’d love to see the questions and answers from the pros if people don’t mind.

Just want to make sure you are aware that you can use United miles to book Air Canada flights since they are both Star Alliance members. We have done this in the past.

Our trip dates are June 15-July 1, so ahead of the Olympics. We will be at Tokyo Disneyland at the beginning of the trip. Hilton bookings for Tokyo Bay opened on Sunday, but no points reservations were available. From past experience, I knew it can take a few days (or up to a couple of weeks) for Hilton to release points availability, so I went ahead and made a cancellable cash reservation just in case and cancelled that one this morning after making my points booking. Outbound air should be booked later this week.

I would love to fly Air Canada. I check flights daily on United.com just to see what the saver award landscape looks like even though my dates aren’t available yet.

It’s going to be a struggle accumulating enough URs for the return flight back in business but I definitely have enough miles to fly out there. The question is do I pull the trigger on the inbound flight as soon as I see the fare I can afford. Then I just hope and cross my fingers that I will find a reasonable fare on the return once I do have the miles . My husband said he doesn’t want to fly all the way to Japan if it’s an economy so that could present a problem.

@Haley R nooooo the worst! They better hussle and not break anything in the process! I honestly find dealing with movers the worst part of moving (but a necessary evil especially at that distance).

@mefordis I am learning right now too and I lurk a lot over at r/ churning. I don’t have a reddit account I just google the forum and read through their daily question and discussion threads. Feel like I learn a lot by watching other people get yelled at over there :rotfl:
I’m seriously about to cry. Apparently they are just telling us TODAY that we weren’t in their schedule book. Are you $&@*ing kidding me?!!!!! So if we didn’t call we would’ve sat here all day wondering when they would show up and they wouldn’t have come. I’m so pissed it’s not even funny. Our relocation agent said she’s extremely upset also and the moving company is “scrambling to find someone else”. You’re damn right you better be scrambling your *** off. Sorry for the language but this is our life they’re messing with. We close on this house today so we won’t technically own it anymore and have to leave.

OMG!! Im so sorry that is awful

I remember @Ngwira got some kind of upgrade. Said they were celebrating maybe.
Thanks! It is my birthday vacation so maybe I’ll give it a try although our flight doesn’t arrive until 10 pm and we’ll be heading out in the morning to grab our car and head to Clearwater. So really just a place to rest our heads for the night.

Both girls (on our insurance still) need to have wisdom teeth removed---dd19 only has 2 and dd24 only has 3. Oh boy.

DS is getting his out at end of month. I hope my CIP comes in time. I think I have to put $300 down day of and last time with DD I got almost all of it back via check after insurance. I wonder if I can ask them to take $1000 just in case. Lol

@Haley R - I'm so glad your kitty is ok. I hope the movers get there and take care of your things. And woo hoo for moving to Florida!!!

Don't worry, I started off my churning adventure back when the CSR/CSP double dip was in full swing still, but I consulted no one and applied for a CSP and then for a CF 30 days later lol. Added DH as an AU on both haha. It definitely takes time to learn the lingo and pick up everything. I am guilty of skimming over posts on stuff that's not really applicable to me. I couldn't really tell you what a SW companion pass is or how it works. If I ever decide to pursue SW miles, I'm sure I'll have to come here and ask the same questions that have been asked a thousand times before haha.

Haha I had no idea what I was doing when I stumbled upon this thread. Up until then DH put me as an AU on every single card he opened, and we wasted slots on a couple of store cards for the discounts. Ugh.

I don't know how I don't know what you guys are all talking about, lol. I'll need to go back and look...

Glad I'm not the only one!

OMG I'm so sorry to see this. I hope they find someone. Taking it all in a UHaul yourself wasn't part of the deal. :(

I would definitely pull the trigger on the outbound flight if you see availability. With United, you can pay a fairly modest re-deposit fee to cancel and get your miles back, so I'd view that as an insurance policy while you see if you can find something good for the return.
