AP prices increased [6/18/2019]

Get out of here, really? How did they even know when you purchased the voucher though or how much you paid?

Don't know but they saw there was a difference in price. Maybe the CM was new. I was at the window for 20 minutes explaining to him that the AP was already paid for but he insisted I pay the difference.

On new bookings .... stays booked before today are grandfathered into old resort fees

Only if your DVC

POP will have skyliner so a larger price jump was honestly at least to me expected

It wasn’t until this recent AP structure that free parking was a perk for the majority of passes it was free for the ‘annual’ pass equivalent to today’s platinum but was still full price for ‘seasonal’ which is equivalent to today’s Silver

I’d expect that to be announced any day to be honest

I just wish that with all these price increases they used some of the $$$ toward paying CMs better wages at least it would make me sleep better at night as I pay nearly two months of my own pay on my AP come the fall

I love POP, but it isn't worth $200 a night. Skyliner or not.

I see this as a crowd control method, not financial. Yes they'll make more money, and yes costs keep increasing for the mouse, but the theme parks make a very healthy return on revenue. They didn't need the increased revenue from this. This to me seems like nothing but trying to control the crowds IMO.

I welcome any crowd control measure. I would rather go once every 2 years (if it was that much more expensive) and have a better (less crowded) experience, than go yearly and fight massive crowds all the time. Disney isn't a "right" for anybody. They are a business and they can charge whatever the public will tolerate. Every price increase will lose them some visitors, but gain them others like me that prefer lesser crowds. They are proving this with extra ticketed events. Honestly, if I could just go to after hours parties on my next trip I wouldn't even get regular park admissions. I would far rather avoid the masses.

Honestly for us, we're going a lot in the next few years because Disney is pricing us out of being able to go. We suspected that there will be a time in the future that we won't be able to go, so we're going out with a bang. It's too bad because it's what we've done as a family every year but trips cost us thousands more than they ever have. So we're unfortunately going to be getting very expensive APs but that's probably going to be the beginning of the end. Not sure if Disneyland is really an option. Their APs are for now cheaper, and it's closer, however there's less to do and it's not our favorite park.

I am the opposite. Disneyland is by FAR my favourite park. However, we live in Ottawa now (originally from Victoria, BC), so unfortunately Disney World is closer for us now.

I just bought my AP voucher from Sam's. Thanks for posting this! It was cheaper than renewing my current AP, which had I just done yesterday.... Makes me sooo mad! Anyway, my current AP expires July 20. Should I wait to link these new vouchers until after my current AP expires? We don't plan to use the voucher until November.

Wow. We bought weekday select APs last fall because I knew the price was going up. Bought an additional pass this summer for another family member and paid $40 more than the original purchase price. The fact that they are going up again, just months later, is insane! The cost from the original purchase has increased 25% in just 10 months.

Glad inflation in general is not following the Disney pace!

You don't have to wait to link it. I had vouchers in my account when my other APs were active. It's fine.

I can live with the lower crowds for more money options. I have my doubts that is how it will play out.

Not sure they are worried about the crowds infringing on the experience. If they were, they would have cast members remove those without tickets from the parade route during the special events. Nothing like paying over $100 per person for an event and knowing those who didn't pay are lingering on Main Street and taking prime space away from those who shelled out the cash for the "crowd managed" party.

Did you have to do an in store pick up? That was the only option I saw when ordering.
I just bought one. I did the email version. It sent me a confirm email and says certificate comes by email with in the hour. I will then link that to DME. Disney parks mom panel did say sams clubs are linkable so hopefully it will.

Did anyone inquire about 2020 AP room discounts yet? Curious to see if I can recoup the cost this way...

Still waiting for the email from Sam’s so I can link them. Anyone get their confirmation number yet?

I get that, there are a lot of things I like WAAAYYY better about DLR, but we love living in the Disney bubble at WDW and the resorts/transportation of WDW are very important to us, and DLR lacks in those aspects. Without that, DLR wins mostly (aside from ToT).

I have an AP now. I also have DVC. Had several days off in May. Could not get a DVC room. Priced out a room at Swan/Dolphin and added in meals.

Priced out an all inclusive in Mexico (5 star, wonderful service, no extra charges...)

Went to Mexico! It was cheaper! LOL!

No, we won't. I have gone from 600 DVC points to 200. Those may go soon. AP expires the end of July, it won't be renewed.
My next vacation I want to go to Xcaret in Cancun, not Disney!
