Mom - can't think of someone offhand...
Dad - Maureen O'Hara and Rita Hayworth - and Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, but I put them in a different category, hard to explain...

HOWEVER...I ended up marrying a family friend after my mother passed away and she absolutely adored him (but obviously didn't know I married him), so can I count him??

She truly did! Stunning! My dad adored her! Ok, I have a ton of answers for my dad, but blanking on my mom? I went to see a production of Oklahoma! this weekend, more dad memories, lol! Still thinking on her...

My parents are both so anti pop culture that I truly don’t know.

My mother wasn't anti-pop culture per se but similar in that she didn't seem to be into it all. I mean she could tell me about people - Elizabeth Taylor, Shirley MacLaine but never idolized anyone.

More leaders -

Queen Elizabeth and certain politicians

Father -

Shaquille O'Neal
Patsy Cline
Faith Hill - besides my mom, he thought she was the most beautiful woman
Nick Cannon

My dad: Johnny Cash, Roy Clark and Donna Summer.

My Mom: She had a personality disorder, so mostly herself. But she had a thing for an MTV vj, Adam Curry and singer Kip Winger lol

ahh, so dad brought you up to love the game and your deep insight

Nope. :rotfl2:

Get this my father didn't follow or really watch basketball. He just LOVED Shaq.

My brother lived in California and my father would come home wearing Lakers championship gear. He thought Shaq was the greatest man.

My dad passed five years ago. But we bought him an O'Neal jersey not that long ago and there he would be this old guy cutting grass in his Shaq gear!

You're being kind low-key. Deep insight is very very generous. Laughing. Loudly.

I would say timing of the Raptors/Grizzlies. And an ex. Although I watched before a bit. I played softball and tennis from childhood to that point, so I really leaned there as a fan - to both. The 1994 baseball strike changed me. Seems very weird, but it did. I was a huge Montreal fan and they were having an outstanding season. Plus I was overseas at the time. When 1995 came for NBA Canadian expansion I simply gravitated to basketball.
