Disney's POLYNESIAN VILLAGE RESORT Information & Questions

Has there been any update on the refurbishment that was supposed to be starting at the Poly??? I recall reading that test rooms were being done....but that was months ago, and I have not seen anything since! I am hoping the rooms get done soon. It is needed! (and Boardwalk too!)

When we have checked into other hotels there is a letter on the bed with an email for the general manager. Does anyone happen to know what that email is at the Polynesian?

Thank you, usually there is an email like www.gm. @ Disney on the letter. Would anyone happen to know the email address?

Yeah, Poly’s letters just have that URL code thing, not a direct e-mail like the other resorts. I’ve often wondered why that is. :scratchin

Just back from a week at my favorite Disney resort. :beach:

Poly is always such a fun place for our family to spend some time.

Had great boat and monorail transportation all week; used Minnie Vans on occasion when more convenient due to weather or just when we felt like it.

Lunch at Oasis Pool Bar & Grill was on point as usual. I could pretty much eat the Oasis Salad with Chicken every day and be content.

Tambu Lounge was rarely crowded, even during the height of Ohana dinner. One bummer, it seemed like the Lapu Lapus were pre-mixed. They’ve either always done this and I have never noticed, or this was new to me. Didn’t seem quite as good as prior trips, but maybe it was just me??

Lava Pool was the usual people soup some afternoons, but storms are pretty effective at clearing things out. We enjoyed the 11pm closing summer hours to extend our pool time a bit.

With the exception of a spot too far out on the main beach area, fireworks audio seemed to be on point from various spots all around the resort. You have to be careful on that main beach area as you can get too far off the path to hear well, but you can usually shift around to find better audio conditions if needed. Audio was quite loud around the grassy lawn outside of the Pineapple Lanai, Trader Sams Tiki Terrace, the pool deck, in front of the Hawaii longhouse.

Poly certainly has some nits, just like any resort, but it hit the spot for a mid-summer trip.

Happy to answer any questions!

Nice to here you had a wonderful time! Thank you for your thoughts/ tips. I’ll have to check out that oasis salad with chicken. Sounds like something I could eat everyday of the trip. :) What longhouse did you stay in and how did you like the room location? Since you have stayed before, what is your favorite longhouse,if you have a preference, and why?

We were staying Club Level so were in the Hawaii longhouse.

No real right or wrong answers to your question as people have so many individual preferences and how they view things, but on the resort-side I like the longhouse towards the middle of the resort... Hawaii, Samoa, Niue, and Rarotonga, for example. If you have weather like this week (lots of showers)... one could make a strong case for Rarotonga!

But a lot depends on personal preference, view category booked, etc. Hope that helps! :-)

Checking for next August on the website and showing sold out for 1 bedroom suites. Could that be possible already? Are there few 1 bedrooms at Poly? We have never stayed here before and the kids have their hearts set on it. We may be able to settle on two standard rooms if this is actually the case. Any thoughts? Thanks!

We stayed at Raratonga, and we loved it.

There is only one 1-BR suite at Poly. The suites are located in the Tonga longhouse, which is very small, and also has a few other suite types that don’t show up online (the 1-BR is the only one that shows up online) but connect in various ways. I’d suggest calling to check availability, that building is tricky.
