Flight delayed because our plane came in late. Still shows us landing early though so there must be some good winds up there.

Just hoping I can sleep, way too many kids on the flight. I know sometimes you have to do a red eye but why would you to FL? I hope they sleep or are having a relaxing day tomorrow.

When my ds8 and I flew to FLL a couple weeks ago, we took a red eye. He’s a fantastic sleeper, me not so much, so I thought, “why not?” First off, the flight was packed with kids and babies and little people of every age. I did not see that coming. Way more kids that the evening flight we just took to MCO. Second shocker, none of the kids slept, including my ds. It had to be one of the loudest and liveliest flights I’ve been on. Didn’t see that coming either lol!

When my ds8 and I flew to FLL a couple weeks ago, we took a red eye. He’s a fantastic sleeper, me not so much, so I thought, “why not?” First off, the flight was packed with kids and babies and little people of every age. I did not see that coming. Way more kids that the evening flight we just took to MCO. Second shocker, none of the kids slept, including my ds. It had to be one of the loudest and liveliest flights I’ve been on. Didn’t see that coming either lol!

That's nuts. Things have quieted a bit so we'll see.

And crazy winds because the flight time is 4 h 42 min and it should be closer to 5 h 20 min. Which is good since we're still waiting for them to load cargo though the app says we departed. Just want to get in the air so the wifi comes on and I can put a movie on my phone. Annoying that they offer it but we can't use it before like the seatback screens.

We did the red eye from Seattle to MCO with our five in February. I prefer it to day time flights because the kids just sleep or are quiet and tired. Although I think I have unusually good travelers, the flight attendants always comment on how surprised they are that they are so good. I do get a ton of side eye boarding the plane though. People just expect five kids will be terrible I guess.

My kids travel well too and flight attendants always seem surprised. My ds did great on his first red eye. Most of the kids on the plane were great too but they were just awake. Sleeping was not on the agenda lol. We had a couple babies on the flight and one cried the entire way

Once we pulled out from the gate it worked. I got a tiny bit of sleep in the first and not the other two. It was awful. Plane got colder as we went among other stuff. Saw some cool lightning off in the distance.

OMG that is too funny. I love London--it's my favorite city in the world. We actually bought a time share there last year in Mayfair and with my daughter going to school over there, we go all the time. I've never stayed at the hotel, but we've eaten at Trader Vics there. Our time share is a few blocks away so we walk by all the time. It's a fantastic location.

Is your daughter doing a semester abroad or going to school there full time? My son wants to study in England for a semester hopefully next year. He is going to be researching and talking to his advisor about it this year.

When we flew to SLC our first leg was Pit to Denver. I have never in my life seen such a line for family boarding. It was half the plane. We had B20 boarding and we able to snag 2 seats fairly close to the front and DS sat behind us, but it didn’t look like there was any empty rows left in the back that early in the boarding.

Tried to go back and find who told me about messaging Barclays to close my account and now of course I can't find it. I sent the message last night and just got an email that I had a message in my account. I immediately went to my computer and logged in and it won't let me view any messages and says "Access to online services has been restricted. Please contact us immediately. Depending on the status of your account, your online statement may be available." What the heck does that mean? It's closed? It's still showing I owe $95 for the AF.

My Barclays account FINALLY updated - now it says Arrival. So it's finally fixed... a week later. Chase and Amex make their card switches automatic and they excel here. Still waiting for the new card to arrive in the mail.

ETA - they did put all my straggler points back too, so I guess I get to keep them.

For those of you who’ve been able to extend Bonvoy free night certs, how long have you been able to extend them to?

I have two 35k/night certs, one expires 5/2 and the other 6/25. What do you think the odds are that I could extend them for a July trip? The chatter a few days ago on using them for DL got me to thinking I’d love to use them at DL for another July trip at the Fairfield Inn (I wasn’t getting the Residence Inn to pull up with the dates I was using). The other option would be to try to go over spring break in March, but DH can’t take off work then and flights are usually super high. TIA!

They're testing the skyliner, running it and stopping it. It looks so cool as you drive under or by it. Bummed it's not open yet.

@kandb Is this a standard Amex offer that you added to the card? If so, yes, it can be via more than one stay. I had paid one night and then another night at a different hotel and AmEx totaled the 2 and gave me the $40 after that 2nd stay.
