Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Also, I was really surprised that for what is kind of a convention/business hotel that there is no secure wi-fi connection for guests. I asked the front desk about it and the lady looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about. I brought my work laptop with me and cannot connect it to an unsecured network. The unsecured network is all that is available though. So for anyone wanting to use their computer here, you may want to be aware of that issue.

Thanks for alerting us to that. I wasn't aware of that. I'll update the info on Page 1 with your warning.

Does anyone know if there is a way to get to a secure connection at the resort?

:badpc:

Soooo excited. I booked YC for Nov 17th-23rd for my birthday.:Pinkbounc First time ever at YC, and even though we were WAY spoiled to BLT 2 room we had in April, I can't wait to stay at YC. Do you think it and the other Boardwalk area hotels will have holiday decor up by the time we stay?

:welcome:

I'll your trip to the list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

Just back from 2 nights/3 days at BC. We arrived around 9am and the room was ready. We stayed in room 3710, standard view. Biggest complaint was the view. All we could see was the roof. Also we did not receive housekeeping services on Thursday. We were out of the room from 11-3 and again from 3:30pm-2:30am. I was looking forward to a shower after returning from MK but we had no towels and was too tired to call and wait for them. Stormalong Bay was wonderful, and we opted for more time there rather than going to the water park. We had breakfast at Cape May Cafe, which was fantastic. Probably my favorite buffet experience on property. Hurricane Hanna's was decent and the kids liked getting their food in the sand bucket. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

So sorry that you were disappointed with the view. The Yacht & Beach do have some less than ideal standard views. Unfortunately, reports on housekeeping have been hit or miss, sorry you experienced unacceptable service. Please pass along your comments to Disney's Guest services and to the management of the resort. Regular and email addresses can be found on Page 1, Post 13 or 14, can't remember which. Search "Kim"

I'm glad that you were able to overlook some of the shortcomings to enjoy your stay.

:goodvibes

Can anyone give details on some of the activities listed on the recreation calendar at the Yacht and Beach Club. Specifically Kitchen Sink, Dance Party and Critter Round-up.

Also what family activities do they have in the SandCastle club?

Thanks

BUMP!

I must have missed when it was announced that the resort parking rates are going up in cost next year.

Thanks for posting this. I never have a car while at Disney, so I don't pay any attention to the parking info and fees. I'll update Page 1.

:car:

Here are a couple...they don't have much of the beach so I don't know if that's what you're looking for.

Thank you!!!

Not sure the lure of the balcony, which I would only be using in early morning hours (could be cold in December), is worth $40 a night to me.

:goodvibes

Thank you for all that info and the add. It was $40 more total not per night.

Can I request a rollaway cot? We'll need a room with 2 queen beds. If we don't get a room with a day bed or a fold-out sleeper chair, can we request a rollaway cot?

6 days away and I’m nervous! I try to plan down to the finest details, checking every potential opportunity, EMH, painting hour, cabana rental, ordered cheap matchy shirts from Old Navy, my mom was sweet and called to order us all matchy shirts- I assumed they were Mickey or Minnie- but they were all Auburn University shirts (our 2 girls go there) and my Dad and I went there- so now we will be advertising football kickoff and must get family pics decked out in our orange and blue...I guess it’s just getting real and it’s bringing up scary memories from our last failed family trip. Does anyone have any positive vibes/pixie dust/or ideas to blow away these jitters??? I know we will love BC but I think our whole family is a bit apprehensive for things to go well- kind of like driving again after a bad wreck...are there any fun things your family does that is a tradition that makes you smile?? We need more of those to consider!!❤❤❤

My wife and I (before kids) would always start our stays at BC by watching the fireworks from Stormalaong Bay. Now that we have kids, I doubt we'll be in the pool that late, but it was always a magical way for us to truly appreciate that we're in Disney. We'll be arriving on Saturday!

We just completed a split stay at Yacht and Contemporary. Aside from the unbeatable theme park view from 4747 at Contemporary, our YC room on the 5th floor (Crescent Lake view) was one of our favorites we have ever stayed at. Super impressed with the refurbishments, especially the walk-in shower. Also, the staff is far superior and much friendlier at YC than Contemporary’s from our experience.

We also just completed a split stay between the Contemporary and YC. We were in room 4748 at Contemporary, so we were neighbors! You are right, that view is spectacular! We were in 2112 at YC, which is a garden view facing the tennis courts. The view wasn't anything special, but the room was quiet the resort is beautiful.

We arrive in 5 days for our first part at WL and then a week later we'll be at BC - I'm working on my packing - I read on another thread that there was not lotion being provided in rooms any longer. I want to make sure I pack appropriately - I do LOVE the lotion from WDW so I normally just use that but if it is not given any longer, I'd like to bring my own. Has anyone been recently and have had or not had lotion? I know that this is a trivial thing to worry about - I just want to pack my own lotion if I need it! Thanks!
