Here's a question. 2, actually.

  1. First of all, am I imagining that I did, at one time, see Hilton properties on the Chase UR travel portal? At the moment it's not finding any.
  2. Second, if Hilton isn't visible on the Chase portal, is there a way for me to see how many Hilton Points I need for a particular property/dates if I don't actually have any Hilton points yet? I have an "Honors" account but I don't see a way to change it to points view or whatever... only actual money.
You can see without having points. I don't even have to log in to check.425010

@Lain @calypso726 The Hyatt Regency is not to far from the Park Hyatt and if it's less points I'd perhaps recommend that hotel over wasting your points at the Park Hyatt Tokyo. I just don't think it's on par with hotels like the Park Hyatt Syndey, Park Hyatt Place Vendome and the Park Hyatt New York (stayed at all of them and it's not even a close comparison). Just my $0.02 of course. We had also come from the Peninsula, which is not only in a much better area of town (for what we wanted to see and do), but blew the PH out of the water (and we had a base level room at the Peninsula vs a one bedroom suite at the PH).

I know we have a lot of SW fans and most of us use points for our flights but...my friend had to cancel a flight last Aug so she had the SW credit ($200) for the flight. She then booked a flight in March that she applied that credit ($200) to plus an extra $150. The relative that she was going to visit passed away before her March flight so she canceled that ticket and got the credit but rather than having a credit for $200 that expired in 8/19 and a $150 that expired in 3/20, SW reverted all of the funds ($350) to 8/19. Is that not crazy? I would have fully expected a split of the funds.

Unfortunately that’s the way it works when you use a credit...SW let’s you know when booking, but she must not of noticed

Thanks to this hobby, DH can visit his brother for a day for his work trip with it being no big deal. His company scheduled him to fly in the morning before he would have (it was going to be just a day trip). I booked him a Sheraton with my 25k Marriott cert and used 7600 URs for a rental car. All the hotels in the area are going for either <$60 or >$200 for the night, including the Hilton ILs were at (it's 40k points or $205 + taxes).

We had a great trip to Florida last week. Just wanted to recap for you all what we did from a churning standpoint. We paid some out of pocket for the trip, but not much.

-SW flights CMH-MCO - Used RR from SWbiz and SW Priority SUB for 2 tickets, CP for 1, Amex Plat travel credit for two, paid for fees with SW Priority $75 credit

-Rental car from MCO - Used UR for full size vehicle from Thrifty, was upgraded to a minivan, which was great since there were 5 of us. Put a small $ amt on my CSR just to round off and conserve UR

-I forget how I paid for the kids’ Universal tickets from last December (previous visit they got stormed out and couldn’t use them) and I’m too lazy to look it up.

-VAH tickets, paid for on the Disney site with discounted gc’s

-Rented points from a Dis member for a SS studio preferred room. Used Swagbucks/PayPal for this. Side note: we loved this location being so close to Disney Springs! The rental car made it so easy to get to the Lime parking garage, and we could also easily walk. I requested as close as possible to DS which we got. The closer rooms were being refurbed. You could tell our room was ready for a refurb. It was clean but just worn and outdated. We landed at MCO at 9:10 am last Weds. and got our room ready text upon landing, which was awesome!

-DS1’s gf stayed at the Wyndham - Used UR for this also. Paid for the resort fee with CSR. Another excellent location for us for an off property stay. It was walkable but also only about a 3 minute drive from our room, even with traffic.

-Food, souvenirs, bowling at Splitsville - discounted gift cards

Anyways, we had a great time. Timed things to stay indoors in the afternoons, and didn’t spend a ton of time in the parks. Next up: driving DS2 to move in to his dorm room this afternoon. Not looking forward to the Cincinnati and Louisville traffic!

Also hoping for decent rates on SW for DD and I to fly to Ft Meyer over a long Presidents Day weekend. I booked us for 5 nights at the Hilton on Marco Island.

Click open 'SPECIAL RATES' and click use points. You don't have to have points or even sign in.

Does anyone know if you use a certificate for a free night with Marriott, does it count toward your nights stayed with them. I had used a certificate and paid cash for another night and only got credit for the night I paid cash.

I'm staying at at the Hyatt Regency next June. While I'm certain it is not as fancy as many hotels in Tokyo, it looks to be more than adequate for two adults who want to spend most of their time sightseeing in Japan.

Yes, it counts. I had one that credited from May and I just booked a night for my son for this Saturday coming and I expect it will credit. You can send an inquiry.

Yep certificates count towards elite nights. There should be a link for a missing stay, I thought you can see it on the activity page.

I love reddit. I post the story above here, have 4 likes so far. I post on reddit under the TR thread... I've gotten just enough support clicks there to keep me coming back for more, also I'm a glutton for punishment obviously, post currently is -1.

Gee, sorry this hobby has allowed my husband to visit his ill brother :confused3

Is he even flying first class there? Are you even a Titanium Marriott Elite?

So lame.

I think the Hyatt Regency is a better use of your points (I checked a random date in February and it's 12,000 points versus 30,000). I put a lot of value on my Hyatt points and I feel like I wasted them at the PH Tokyo. Plus we had to pay cash (used a cash / points rate for our suite). I think our bill still came to around $2,000.00 (which was room charges save for the 1 breakfast we had at the *extremely* overpriced restaurant and 1 drink at the New York Bar), which just wasn't worth it. Live and learn I suppose :headache:.

I was very pleasantly surprised that the rooms were 12k a night for our June stay too. I had 60k Hyatt points hanging out from picking up that card in January on a whim, so it worked out great. We're spending 4 nights there and then switching over to Hilton properties for the rest of our stay (Conrad Osaka and Hilton Tokyo Bay). As long as I can get my second free weekend night with Hilton through meeting the 15k spend, then all of our hotels will be free on points and nights.

OMG! Got a maintenance request that the tenant put a foot through the floor and it's weak. The house is almost 100 years old but I can't imagine, unless there's termites, what could cause it. Nevermind the cost to fix it with money I don't have. That CIP 0% is looking super helpful at the moment.

Happy last day of vacation.

Darling Daughter's first house was turned into a rental property in 2012. This year is the year of new bathroom fan, new toilet, new heater and ac unit and now new basement toilet plus it's special pump because it's in a basement. And it's only August.
