I wasn't golfing...but I wish I had been. I was largely distracted this week as we got our driveway re-done and a basketball court put in the back of our house. The project went REALLY well and I'm pleased with the outcome. So between watching that progress and trying to pretend to work, my DIS time was limited. Today I was planting grass and being a cheer dad so that again took up most of my time.

For those who don't care, another huge win for the lions on Friday. This was the 44th consecutive game I have attended. According to my spreadsheet, that's my record for consecutive games. (It's possible that I attended more in a row when I was in the band in HS but I don't keep records back that far). I can't remember if I ever missed a game in HS or not. Yes, I know this is way off topic and you might think it's weird...I love my alma mater, lol!

So Friday, they beat the team who is potentially 2nd best in the conference. 7 games left in the regular season, but the next 2 are non-conference (so they mean nothing). Nonetheless, both should be easy wins.

Next week I should get back in the "churning groove" and be posting more frequently.

Anyone have suggestions where to go for Thanksgiving for 5 nights on Hilton points.
I booked SW to WDW using the trick, but I could move those dates and we could do something as a family for thanksgiving.

So far I looked at:
Aruba- Hilton not available
CHS- DH said no
NYC- DH said no
PHX squaw peak resort- resort looks nice, but what do you do in PHX? Flights about 100k points so not cheap.
Marco Island- viable option, but is a repeat for us

Any thoughts?
What about other Orlando destinations? Sea World or Universal? I love me some Orlando!! haha!

:offtopic:Anyone else sad to see Club Cool, Innoventions, and the Nations Fountains close tonight? I really wish I could have schemed my way to a trip last month so I could have seen them all one last time.

Of course it does not help that I just finished tonight the scrapbook of our April trip where DH and I did the Undiscovered Epcot Tour. Seriously sometimes I just do not get Disney management these days...
We're sad here too. Said our goodbyes a month ago. I don't get Disney mgmt at all these days either.

@Pooh2 - Do you have Private Messages (PMs) or "Conversations" on the DIS turned off? I was going to send you a PM inviting you to our DISchurners reddit group but it seems I can't. You have plenty of DIS posts so that isn't the issue. 🤔

I never did get to check this yesterday...but I am happy to report that AAvacations shows Disney 2020 availability as of right now...

Perhaps they went away briefly but all looks good again. I'm checking 3 different dates in January to verify this with varying stay lengths. Just to reiterate - this is only mods and deluxe. Values no longer appear there dating back to spring 2019 when that change occurred.

However, @PolyRob - I am glad I jumped on CR when I did because they do NOT show theme view rooms any more for my dates on the AA site!! Super glad I have that locked in :D
So happy you got it when you did!

I am looking at all the AA links... I think the highest public offer I am seeing is 70,000 in 4 months

Would it make sense to go for this one first? I have to figure out what 70,000 points would equate to in a deluxe/mod in the event I am only able to earn one bonus.

I’m not up on what all bonuses are out there right now so I won’t give bad advice. What I can say is that 74,000 points equates to approx. $300 in Disney gift cards and approx. $600+ towards Disney hotels.
Thanks! I went through the Reddit links you shared a little while back and it seems to be the highest that I can find. I was playing around with aavacations.com and useaamiles.com. I saw POFQ for 3 nights was $1,063 and would take about 106,300 miles on aavacations.com with car rental vs 134,000 on useaamiles.com so that valuation definitely makes sense! I doubt I would be able to accumulate two SUBs and have availability to book for January starting now, but I should probably start sooner than later if I want the points.

ETA: I guess the $300 towards a DGC really isn't that bad either. It is like a 7.5% return on the $4,000 spent. It would be the equivalent of $4,000 spent on 5x bonus categories with Chase redeemed towards travel on a CSR.

Yes we enjoyed watching the fountains and enjoyed club cool. Doesn’t coke realize that’s how they got us buying pineapple Fanta all the time Bc of trying it there. Store stocks some after I asked but apparently it’s just us and another family that buys it. Well they keep beating me to it. Good thing family is going to fl soon and will bring up a few cases when they come back.

We enjoyed both too very much. I am sad. We will be going down in November. Luckily I will have the food and wine booths to distract me. 😎

I made our reservation at DLP last night! 2 nights/3 days at the Disneyland Hotel with their 25% off room plus park tickets plus half board deal. I went ahead and booked through the US site. It was actually cheaper than all the ones I checked except for the UK site, but only by <$100 so decided to go with that since I’ll be paying the majority of the cost next spring and it will be nice not to worry all winter about the exchange rates. I used P2’s Cap1 Venture and will use the travel credit to erase that charge, which was just under $500. We got the room with two doubles and a sofa bed, for which my teens will be very grateful.

So I just have London to square away now for hotel/Air Bnb and then one or two single nights. Can’t believe how it’s coming together with so little out of pocket expense. Thank you again everybody!

I don't think this is talking about the same thing I am asking about. This is for the annual airline credit on the premium Amex cards. I was asking specifically about the one time sign up offer, not an annual thing, on the Delta Amex for a $100 credit after your first Delta purchase.
Cheese and rice I forgot about that, does it need to be purchased within 3 months?
Nevermind @SouthFayetteFan answered already!

I logged into my mom's Marriott account since she's letting me use her Bonvoy points for our DLR trip next summer. I noticed that she has 2 35k free night certs. Most of her points come from a personal Chase Marriott card she got last year. Any idea how she has two certs? She said she hasn't even paid a second annual fee yet. I could see one, getting it on her card anniversary and not getting a bill yet for the AF, but not sure where the other could have come from? Did she get reversed Bonvoyed?!?
Did she spend $60k that looks like another option for getting an additional FN

Ugh, why does Employee Express need to be down all weekend when I need to stop by DD to BOA? Now to keep it on my to do list for tomorrow.

Hey there - I did not do a review of that hotel...until you reminded me :D I enjoyed writing up this review for some reason, lol - put a lot more effort into it than I expected to. I liked the hotel!

In Philly, I stayed with my sister. I could see if she'd host you, but it might be awkward :P 😂

Here's the review (which is in this thread).
Just an FYI. It has the link to the Doubletree at Universal and mentions Hilton points instead of Bonvoy :)

Thank you! In an earlier Ocean City trip this year I was at the hotel. I didn't get to go in and look around as the problem was parking. I couldn't find a spot close enough to warrant walking two car seat riders from, not that it was really far, just inconvenient for me.

Anyway, in watching the rates last winter, I saw nights as low as $118 with dinner for 2 included in the onsite restaurant. Not going to happen in season, but for my purposes - a windy walk on the beach, bird watching, a nice place to stay, an indoor pool, driving access to shopping and Assateague, I'm going to be haunting the website watching for good rates in late November, December and January - the time when I love the beach! For summer, this would be an optimal use of the 50K certificate, if they don't raise the point value.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much the past couple of days.

Purchase a Delta Gift Card on your desktop computer and you will get your credit. The credit on the American Express Delta Cards is for ANY Delta purchase and a gift card purchased from the desktop site will count.

Official Wording: Additionally, earn a $XX statement credit after you make a Delta purchase with your new Card within your first 3 months.

Lots of DPs and information here if you want to see it:

Sorry there was a lot of confusion here - it seems people were missing that this was the Delta credit card from American Express and not a Gold or Plat credit. I feel very confident in this answer for you!
Thank you! I have done it before but with the rules changing so quick I wanted to make sure it still worked. Assuming the car actually was approved and shows up.
