We cant take ILs anywhere anymore. It's too stressful. Things always come up.

Yesterday BIL had a doctor's appointment where they told him that they think his progress is so slow because his immune system is still attacking itself, so they want to start a new treatment. Then this morning DH wakes up to a middle of the night text from him. Why are you up? Because SILs father had a major heart attack last night.

Of course I waited all of this time to buy their non refundable tickets (MIL and Aunt) and just bought them last night before we got the news. And we're in the non-refundable territory - think it's one night for the cancellation penalty :(

Again, obviously everyone's health is most important but could anything just be easy and go right for once? Part of the point of this was getting MIL away for a couple days to not worry about things. This is like the cruise all over again :(

I toooootally feel you on that. My mom's boyfriend's dad passed away this morning. It was not unexpected, but the timing could not be worse. They don't know when they will do the visitation or anything yet, but my mom's boyfriend has repeatedly told her, even before his dad passed, that she was not to fly home if he died while we were on vacation and that she should not worry about it if his family sets the visitation while we're on our trip. I feel bad about it, but I talked to him this morning and he assured me that even if it's set while we're gone, he's not worried about it. They're not having a funeral, only a visitation, so I guess that makes me feel a little better? My best friend said if they do hold the visitation while we're gone, she's going to go, which is super nice of her. I'm just emotionally exhausted at this point.

I hope your SIL's father is ok. What a nightmare.

I used last month’s credit on a Pineapple Upside Down Cheesecake at the CF! So good! But I think it was a limited time offering. I’m really tempted to swing by sometime this month to see if it’s still there.
Funny - that was my other possible choice!
CF’s pineapple upside down cheesecake is delicious! It was the new release for national cheesecake day this year and should stick around! The part where CF donates $0.25 for every slice sold is limited and goes through Feb 2020.

Yup. And first check this morning I'm seeing they've loaded but I don't see any savers. And nothing in points in first at all on the non stops to SNA. So they were either grabbed overnight, or who knows. This is making nervous! If they don't release aug 20 before I go to bed on Friday, I could miss out.

Oh United. I thought a 1pm EST (or so) release time would work really well, better than midnight for my schedule anyway. But if it's just any time after that time, what a crap shoot.
Oh how frustrating! Definitely something to monitor. I can’t believe they all sold out that fast!!

@Haley R Dining is working again (did I mention I was impatient earlier today?! LOL)
I saw that, but there aren't any Palo brunch reservations left for our cruise :( I'll keep checking every day, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I heard you can wait in line on embarkation day so I might try that

Definitely get down there as soon as they open and see! It's worth checking. We went because we couldn't get brunch or dinner for ILs but were able to add them to dinner at least.

I forgot about that. They consistently shorted customers a little bit in each can. I think I was supposed to get cans of tuna (or coupons for them). Is that what you got, or was there a cash option too?

It was supposed to be $25 cash or $50 in coupons for tuna. I opted for cash since we don't eat that much tuna. Looks like you'll be getting $5.03 as a coupon.

I like Palo brunch, but it gets overhyped online (which is why it's getting so hard to book these days). So, yes, try when you board, but don't feel like you're missing out on something so special that it will ruin your cruise. I also like Palo dinner, and that's always easier to book. I hope you do get that reservation, though. :)

It is really easy to make it homemade, and won't have all the chemicals in it. Plus you can tailor it to your preferred thickness and tartness level and sweeten with honey or just less sugar than they feel the need to use. Do you have an instant pot?
But I'm with ya...no chunks.
I have an instant pot, but it's not a very good one. The only thing I've ever cooked in it is little smokies lol

Yeah. Like, I was not wishing any medical issues on SILs family... but she is so dang USELESS anyways, that all I see here is that she puts a bunch more stress and pressure on BIL and he's not supposed to have that as it could cause a relapse. Her uselessness I touched on before continues. BIL has even slipped up talking on the phone mentioning doing things his doctor told him he is not allowed to do, ie taking out the trash or carrying in a lot of groceries, things like that.

That all sucks. It's a good thing thry don't have kids and I hope this opens his eyes more to how it'll be if they do.

It's literally a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. What's not to like? It's not like I'm eating cow tongue or something lol

But pb&j is the easiest thing to make and with better quality and less crap than the uncrustables. Nevermind pb&j is better fresh with non dry bread.

We have missed out on the baths both times to Tortola b/c we had toddlers in tow both times, but I'd love to go one day. I researched it a bunch and apparently it is easy and much cheaper to do on your own. You can get there before the excursion so you aren't stuck in a group of people as you explore. I'd definitely go that route. You'd have to search on the DCL forum for "baths on own" or something and find all the info. I'd also ask on the DCL fb pages.

ETA: if I recall, you take a ferry (speedy's) over to the island and then a cab or something.
I think since it's our first cruise we're just going to pay the extra to do it through Disney. I'd rather it be hassle free that way we don't have to worry about getting around. If we do another cruise to the same place I could see us doing stuff on our own instead
