Avoid Single Rider Line on MFSR

Was just at DHS this past week and while I was there I was able to ride MFSR during EEMH going thru the regular line a little after 7:00am with little wait. Got to see Hondo and the details in the normal line. Later in the day around 2:00pm I went to go ride again this time went to the single rider line since I was at the park by myself. The posted wait time for the ride was 45min. I waited and waited in that single rider line. The 45 minutes that I would have waited in the regular line came and went and I still was no were close to being near the loading area they hand out your positions. I had to end up leaving the line an hour after I started waiting along with quite a few other guests who were not happy about how long this was taking. I asked on the way out if this was normal that single rider would wait so much longer then the regular line and was told yes. I have done other single rider lines in Disney and never had such a wait like this. Test Track that also has a single rider line and has a ride vehicle with 6 passengers just like MFSR never had any issues with such a wait. I have experienced before when the single rider has had a long wait without moving they will fill vehicles with just single riders. This never happened at MFSR. I did make a stop at Guest Services on my way out and told them what happened. She said she hadn’t heard of this happening before but took down my complaint. This happened to be my last day at the parks and was going to be my last ride of the day and was a really disappointing ending to my trip. So even if your traveling by yourself I would wait in the regular line. Save yourself the frustration of that Single Rider line.

Thanks for the warning! I'll also be watching for other's reports on it, since the few early reports I heard were that single rider was usually under 30 minutes. We'll be there a few days after EEMH ends, and I was figuring single rider was a good back up plan if wait times go up after EEMH ends. Maybe not, though!

I did single rider 5 times at the start of July in Disneyland California. The trick is to be observant on your first single rider and make note of the time and where the end of the line is.

I dont know if it is the same in Walt Disney World, but in Disneyland there is a corridoer which splits to a left and right wait line. At each wait line there are 2 levels of steps, then a turn, then one level, then the loading area.

For me, if the end of the line is
  1. still in the corridor before the split left and right I wont wait
  2. is at the bottom of the first level of steps I wont wait
I will only do single rider for Smugglers Run if the end of the line is at the top of the 2nd level of steps, where the turn is.

That's interesting, and I don't know if it's because they just don't really have empty spots much for a single rider or what the story is. Since single riders typically fill in the empty spots, maybe the CM's were just so focused on getting the groups of people into the ride and doing their positions. Thanks for the heads up though.

FWIW Rock n Roller coaster also has a single rider lone that is routinely longer than standby. Yours is the first complaint I've seen of this...will have to watch to see if its an anomaly or not. Thanks for the heads up!
Also had this experience on RnRC, had not heard till after that the SR line was not great, since TT and EE had worked fine for us before. Good to know!

Had a similar experience on Splash Mountain, wife was shopping, messing around so I said why not, she ended up calling me asking where I was, it did take about 45 mins and the line was slow moving.....oh well it happens.

I think its the same here. I walked right on once. Another time there were maybe four people in front of me, was just a few steps from the top and I waited about five minutes. Third time was halfway down the last set of steps and waited about 15 mn. So I won’t wait if it’s more than halfway down the last set of steps.

I waited a VERY log time in this RnR single rider line. They have to wait for a single spot to open and slide you in. If all spots are filled, then no movement. It's hard to predict and I would expect it's usually quicker, but not always.

Well, two weeks ago a friend and I went (on Thursday and Friday afternoons) through a rather sparse crowd at WDW's Galaxy's Edge and did the single line on both days in mid afternoon. We waited NOT AT ALL both times. As single riders we were shunted to the least desirable spots in the "Falcon" and were thoroughly disappointed by the lackluster ride--- both days running! It just isn't particularly compelling. Afterward we went over to Star Tours and, without a long wait, had the always delightful experience of the C-3-PO hosted flight with new material all the time-- and in 3D too. This is a regular stop for us whenever we go to the Hw Studio park. It's terrific every time. Sorry, folks, but the "Falcon" is a bust.

It can be but it all depends on the the pilots, the first time we rode it and it was like being on the Indiana Jones kill your guts ride, man those 2 should have NEVER been the pilots and the second time couple of teenish kids were the pilots and it made a HUGE difference, it was fun and no where as near bumpy, I was in agreement with you after our first run but then those 2 kids made me change my mind, funny on how your fellow riders can make a huge difference!

There isn’t a single rider line on splash.

I'm quite the opposite; to me Star Tours is a bust, while the Falcon is much more enjoyable. Star Tours just jerks you around from side to side, and I can't really appreciate what's going on. I enjoyed my time in the Falcon much more. They're similar rides, but different.

But that's just my opinion, much like yours :)

I believe you are both right. DL SM does, WDW SM does not.
In my experience, TT, RsR and EE all have very good single rider lines - can usually be on the ride in under 30 minutes NMW. Incredicoaster can be hit-and-miss but the regular line usually isn't that long anyway. RnRC single rider usually doesn't save you any time.
I really wish FoP had a single-rider line - I think that would work really well.

This, that single rider line is the line from hell!

wondering what day you did SR?
My daughter just told me that last week they had 3 of their turntables down so maybe that affected the SR queue even more so as the CM are trained to give priority to the standby queue

lets keep this thread on talking about the SR queue of MFSR. Any opinions on the actual ride can be discussed in the attractions thread

OK... I repeat: "Well, two weeks ago a friend and I went (on Thursday and Friday afternoons) through a rather sparse crowd at WDW's Galaxy's Edge and did the single line on both days in mid afternoon. We waited NOT AT ALL both times."
