My first DS..... We were told with THREE ultrasounds he was a girl:cutie::rotfl:......NOT!!!! We had a closetful of girl clothes, and cute name picked out...and in those days they made pink or blue diapers..... When he was born we were SHOCKED. (Never disappointed, just shocked) And... he wore cute pink jammies for the first week at home, until we went to the consignment shop with a HUGE pile of baby girl clothes to consign and bought him a manly baby wardrobe! (I still have the tiny pink jammies he wore then)
With 2nd DS, we didn't ask ahead for obvious reasons lol. It all worked out but I never got to use my 'girls' name I had chosen lol.
Oh yeah.... we had to pick our boys name out on the fly! ( still not sure it suits him but whatevs lol)
Lol, same thing but opposite. Our boy was a girl. Nothing but boy clothes. She wore Notre Dame pj's home from the hospital.

I gained 20 with my 1st, and 23 with my 2nd but only weighed 123 when they were born. I weigh 17 pounds more now than when I was 9 mons pregnant . I think of it as delayed baby fat.

Same! I was tiny back then and I have pictures to prove it! Trouble is nobody believes it's me: from long dark hair to mid length white hair plus the body increases....

Disney+ question. DD uses it on her iPad which is WiFi only. She mainly uses it to watch pre downloaded shows in the car. At least a few times a week when she goes to click on a downloaded show (which we've confirmed has been fully downloaded while on WiFi) it won't play. The only solution we've found is to let her connect to one of our phones via a hotspot and after a min or so she can disconnect and everything plays normally. It's almost like it wants an internet connection to verify account or something.

Has anyone run into this or have any recommendations?

If I don’t use a GC then I’m using Apple Pay. Assumed if they had Apple Pay they had chip readers.

Seriously banks suck. (No offense @SouthFayetteFan ) Communication is so bad. IT is so bad. Doing a bank bonus at First Midwest (read: crappy tiny local bank). They locked my account after DHs paycheck was direct deposited into the account. So they had all my money and didn’t bother to tell me they locked it or why. I call to tell them my debit card won’t work and they tell me they never got the copy of my DL, sent snail mail. Then they tell me I can take my DL to local branch (a mile away and next to the Aldi I shop at every week) and they will unlock my account. Why couldn’t they tell me I could take the info to the local branch in the first place instead of snail mail.

I’m usually in the same boat. My big fat check is usually $5-10 but I hit it hard this month and did all my Christmas shopping online. I’m currently at $145 for my Big Fat Check!

My nieces initials are OMG and EEG. Poor nephew is KAG with 31 total letters in his name including both X and Z.

Our Chicago Tribune delivery person does the same. We only get Sunday and half the time it’s wet or missing so No.

But my Instant Pot has slow cook and pressure settings. So you just always use pressure?

@Haley R my Instant Pot looks like thisView attachment 457213

So you can use any of the functions. I don’t tend to use recipes that are ‘a can of this and can of that’ so I look on Pinterest a lot. My sister just Googles. Lol. Like “instant pot chicken”. One site I like for a number of things is Pinchofyum.com
I've never used mine as a slow cooker, mainly bc I don't need to- I just pressure cook it,and it keeps it warm till we're ready to eat! I like it b/c I tend to walk away from cooking, and it doesn't burn lol

What kind do you have? I've never seen on with cast iron on the inside. Is it removable to clean it?

I have seared in the Instant Pot, and don't like it much for that. It seems to just have one temp for sauteeing, so I'm usually turning it on and off and back on to keep things searing but not burning.
mine has 3..... when sauteeing you push 'adjust' for one of three levels of heat

Oh boy..... slow cooker vs IP? I could go on all day... :rotfl2: I use my slow cooker to transport food now basically..... I consider my IP one of my prime kitchen tools and use it at least every other day! There are instagroups as well as many on FB to get you excited with recipes etc. To me it's like a fast slow cooker....(I know, makes no sense lol) But when I was making my Olive Garden copy Zuppa Toscana one weekend,I did a batch on stove, and a batch in the IP. The difference was HUGE.... all the ingredients seems to 'melt' together better with that bit of quick pressure, and now I don;t have to start dinner at 8 am anymore! I like how quickly it cooks things too. I've had a few fails, but mostly wins. Now the slow cooker is rarely used,as my lazy nature works better with the IP,and last minute dinner thoughts. (example, I can set a full pot roast dinner with potatoes etc in the IP at 3:30 and it'll be perfect and ready to eat before 5:30) Don't even get me started on the bone broth and chicken possibilities:woohoo:

Hmmm, have not used mine for soup. It seems just as easy to do stovetop. Will have to give it a try. Which recipe do you use for your Zuppa Toscana. That is one soup I have not made. I go on kicks with mine. Use it 3 times one week and then not again for several weeks. But I rarely use the crockpot anymore.

And wrong on 3 ultrasounds! Wow, that is crazy. Give a kid a complex. lol

Zuppa? pinterest has so many to choose from.....I actually found two,and sort of combined to get what I wanted.... it's a staple around here! Yeah once in a while I tease him about it still.... altho I always reassured him that surprise is very different from disappointed.... :thumbsup2

Dh and I have been wanting an outer space bookshelf off amazon for the nursery. It was $85 but we weren’t quick enough and it went to $115 for the last 2-3 months. It’s like $140 from target. Well today they had one in stock for the $85 price so we jumped on it with our discover card. We have it on our registry and can get 15% off after December 17 but we didn’t want to risk it being gone again

I gained well over 30 with my first, and he was 6 weeks early LOL.

update on DH, he had major sudden pain, and then a bit of relief. He is pretty sure it made it to his bladder now, so he feels much better. They finally took him to x-ray to confirm but now he waits for his results.
As for my dad, I am struggling because we do not have the greatest relationship (not with him, my mom or my stepmom, long long story, years of divorce trauma), and I see him once a year at most, for a couple days and that is usually to much. Hard for me to process right now. I can only get there for a couple of days, but I will make it there, and take the kids too. Thank you all for your thoughts.

Oh, I can confirm the Target circle 20% off coupon, is separate from any that we got from black Friday purchases. I just used the Target circle and the one I got in an email from my online purchase, in two separate transactions. No issues. Now, to spend the 3 paper ones I have left...:-)

Driving home from MVMCP and it was a blast. Apparently it was sold out but we didn’t find it too crowded at all. We stayed in the fringes of hub for castle lifting and fireworks, Liberty Square for the parade, and lots of rides. I was trying to balance my husband wanting to see the extra Christmas things and my son wanting to ride all the rides. Weather beautiful, hot at the beginning, cooling down late. The people dressed in onesie pajamas were hilarious - next year I will bring all the kids and make them dress up. Loved that the parade had scents, I don’t think I’ve experienced that in a Disney parade before.
Stayed till 12:30 so exhausted today. The skyline from Caribbean Beach was great and a fun way to get around and the poolside bar had delicious drinks for pre-party.
I have been watching the weather also. We are there the 14th-18th. Looks like mostly low 70's. ( I was so hoping that we would not get the 30's they had when @wendow was there). Haley - how has the weather been at night? Ok to wear capris and sandals or does it cool down too much. Have to figure out what to pack...
Last night was low 60ish. Most people were fine in a hoodie including us Floridians.
We actually still used a stroller this past Aug when my youngest was a new’ish 8yo. We didn’t plan on it but our open to close touring combined with the heat did him in. He overheats super easy and was getting to where the heat was making his stomach hurt really bad so he wasn’t eating or drinking. Bad combo! After two days of him whining and us worrying he was dehydrating, I went and rented a stroller. My dh was totally against it but after that, the trip was so much better. If ds was doing okay, we’d all throw our backpacks in to give us a break. But he ended up riding a lot. I’d get a cup of ice water and pour it on his head to help cool him down. No regerts! We saw kids much older in strollers.
In the last year, my 6/7 year old has developed horrible Disney rash on our April and May trips. Bad like huge welts/rash up his legs, swollen lower legs and huge blisters around his lower legs from the swelling. We had to rent a stroller each time even though he’s a big kid and looked hilariously ridiculous. My thoughts on strollers are to do what you need to do for your kid. I push my kids to ride a lot and we start early and end late so if a stroller makes it more enjoyable for them, then I’m enjoying it more too. I don’t care what anyone might think.

ETA: I push them to ride a lot of rides, not ride in the stroller!

Just caught up here. It’s been an emotional roller coaster of a week for me. My grandmother passed away and the funeral was yesterday. It wasn’t a surprise and we’d been waiting for her suffering to come to an end for a very long time now. I told my family I was going to cancel our weekend trip to DLR and they all insisted that I don’t do that. So, now I’m sitting at the Centurion lounge waiting on our flight. This weekend is our 23rd wedding anniversary and we are traveling with friends. I’m looking forward to the distraction.
So sorry for your loss 🙁 Will be thinking of you. Hope your weekend is going well

This is a lot of what I am thinking with DD7 this summer trip, being early June its going to be hot and she's going to tired fast. This will also be our first trip without going back mid afternoon for naps, tho DW might still need a nap. :rotfl2: I am leaning more to bringing it and just parking it in each land with the cooler in the bottom part so we have water bottles with us and I am not carrying that and the backpack all day.

That Disney rash is no joke!! My aunt gets it every year. I’d never gotten it until this last trip. Mine came up towards the end of the trip and was mild but I know how bad it can get. Your poor kiddo!!

I get it too. It’s horrible!!!!

Just got off the phone with Sears, after an hour and a half call, I have another escalated case to management that I have to wait 24~48hrs for a response again. I have requested a check be sent this time since the last escalated case response was just dispute the charge. So much wasted time in this.
