Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Hi everyone!

I have another question that I don't even know where to ask it, so please direct me to the right spot if you don't know the answer. 🙂

My travel companion is training for a half marathon and on one of our days she needs to do a long run. We are staying at Poly. Does anyone know where I might could suggest to her to run?

Thanks!

There is a path that goes from Poly to GF. Not sure if that’s long enough, but that would be my suggestion. Good luck!

I've never seen Frangelico at AKL CL, however, that doesn't mean it's not been there before. Maybe someone there now can give input. As for requesting things, I think that's referring to requesting items or beverages that they already have on hand but just not out, such as the Sangria or certain types of beer. I will say that you will LOVE the lounge and all of the offerings at AKL. It's my home resort for a reason. :lovestruc
Thank you Melissa. I have stayed AKL CL twice before, but not since 2013 or 2014. I don't think they had Frangelico then, but have seen it mentioned at other CL. And I think you are right about requesting things. I didn't realize you could when I stayed there before, learned that here. They ran out of Diet Coke everyday (not just me drinking it all) and I never thought to ask for them to restock it. I just went down to Mara and/or the store and bought it.

AKL CL just put out a watermelon feta salad, breads with dips, trail mix fixings, banana bread, gummy bears and jelly beans, sugar and chocolate chip cookies, chips, and both chicken coconut curry and butternut squash soups.
Wow gillep, that sounds great! Last time I stayed AKL CL, it was just cookies, gummies and trail mix midday. Can you please tell me what are the cordials? I am specifically looking for Frangelico, but interested in what all they have. Thank you.

I think she needs 7 miles total. I'll be drinking coffee. :rotfl2:
She'll need to run it multiple times but she can do a route from TTC to GF and back, as many times as needed. They'll eventually expand that to reach MK. If you are there after that she could run all the way from GF, to MK, to CR, to TTC, to Poly and to GF.

If she wanted to travel, there are longer routes at some resorts. One goes around the lake at Epcot, and can even include a leg to HS. The measurement is there somewhere. Resorts have routes too, like at PO resorts or CBR.

Yes, you will be able to enjoy breakfast your first CL morning. Your bands may not work in the elevator to access the 6th floor though if you haven’t checked out of your standard room and into the CL room, and if you check out of your standard room you may not be able to retrieve your bags from your standard room. In the past I have been given a key card at AKL that only works in the elevator when doing a similar switch to access the lounge without abandoning my first room super early, so when you check in you may want to ask the CM the easiest way to transition in the morning.

Yes, you will need to store bags with bell services. You can either take them down yourself or call to have them picked up.
Thanks for the idea.

She'd have to leave the resort, but Fort Wilderness has a 3.1 mile jogging pathway that's pretty scenic.

Hope it's ok to chime in.
You should try the Amarula cordial if you haven't had it before. It's lovely over ice. Not too sweet, creamy, subtle. AKL CL nearly always has it. :flower:

Having done this... it’s just a lot of back and forth from Poly to the GF and back. It will vary depending on the exact path you take, but from the TTC side of Moorea to Sago Cay (just about the furthest point at GF you can run) is around a mile. You can do various loops around the GF grounds (eg, around the Courtyard Pool) and Poly (around Moorea) to avoid dead ends. It’s a great spot to run, especially early in the morning before the resorts wake up and people are milling about. I don’t like running there as much (or really, at all) once things get going for the day as you’re sharing walkways with others and can require more dodging and weaving in parts.

It’s not the most direct / straight running path in the world (since you’re sort of turning/winding along various segments), but it gets the job done. And heck, you’re looking out over the Seven Seas Lagoon and MK during most of it, so hard to beat the location.

Diet Coke is definitely something they can handle. :thumbsup2 I'm the type of person who doesn't like to be a bother, and initially had a difficult time asking CMs for things that they had run out of or just weren't out to grab, but once they informed me that I was supposed to do that, I got much more comfortable with asking. Everyone is so friendly, and some of those CMs have actually become friends of ours over the years.

Hope it's ok to chime in.

That sounds yummy! I'm not a good drink mixer upper, so most of the time I stay away from the cordials because I don't really know what to do with most of them. :rotfl:

Self serve tonight at AKL CL:

Red wine
Indaba: Mosaic Red Blend 2018
Excelsior: Cabernet Sauvignon 2017
Fairvalley: Pinotage

White wine
Two Oceans: Moscato (2017, I think, my picture is blurry)
Indaba: Chardonnay (no idea year the lighting by the white wine was not ideal)
Fairvalley: Chenin Blanc

Bottled beer:
Sweet Water Extra Pale Ale 420
Stella Artois
Angry Orchard Original
Michelob Ultra
Blue Moon
Tusker Lager
Orlando IPA
Hi gillep,
Hopefully you are still there, and can tell me what the cordials are tonight.
Thanks for all you posting.

Dang...busted speaking ill of BWI CL outside of this thread! Lol....

So your question... I sort of chalk it up to one of those things that proves life wouldn’t be any fun if we all agreed on everything or had the same travel opinions/preferences. I am certainly in the minority around here when it comes to BWI, so I’m the oddball.

I think most of it is that BWI as a resort just doesn’t speak to us all that much. Love the location, the theme and layout isn’t my favorite. The pool is fine, we just like others better. No zero entry pool and no true kids splash pad are dings (my kids are younger). I’m not one to be too concerned with room style, but the rooms are sort of Grandma’s house’ish for my taste (love you Grandma!).

While this can happen anywhere, we had a bout of crowded lounge conditions during our stay. Seemed like every time we tried for evening apps there was nowhere to sit. In fairness, this was during the Princess Half Marathon weekend, which I sometimes think inspires more folks hanging around the lounges given early wake up calls.

Food and beverage were great and worthy of the high praise they consistently receive on the thread. I did find the cooking odors in the evening odd (it’s pretty overpowering all over the halls depending on what’s cooking), but I don’t really count that as a big deal.

We didn’t experience any CM interactions or attentiveness that were different than any other CL (if anything it might have been below-average), but that is also often mentioned as a major highlight around here.

I love this thread, but sometimes I think I let the chatter build expectations too much in my head for some CLs before trying them. I think it happened to us for BWI, like it happened for GF RPC. Both nice resorts and CLs... but at the end of the day, just Disney CLs - complete with their various pros and cons.

Full disclosure - we only have one BWI CL stay, Feb 2018, so that has some age to it. We were there for an adults only trip and were really excited to try it as we had a vision that it would be a great spot with no kids, but left with the conclusion that we just like other places better. I think one stay isn’t enough to make a fair assessment so I do hope to return someday, just haven’t found the right trip to do it again.

Sorry that was TLDR!
[/QUOTE

Oops, sorry! ;) I booked it based on reviews here and my friend loves it. I'm just not excited for it. I was curious for your thoughts since we have similar opinions on others. I'm thinking possibly sugarloaf. NJ just so confused!

Does anyone know if the AK CL has Frangelico? I thought there used to be a specific thread for AK CL, but couldn't find it. I read in post 26,268 that BC CL has it and Baileys.
I don't think all the club levels have the same liqueurs. I sure would like AK CL have Frangelico when I am there in July. I have read of people requesting things, do you think I could proactively reach out to them and ask them to have it?
You’re in luck! They started putting out Frangelico as of November or so and we had it consistently every night last month. Goes really well in next morning’s coffee, if I might add. I love Frangelico as well so I was really excited! It replaced the Courvoisier.

BWI CL deluxe room and standard rooms are available for an upcoming trip. Price difference is $110 more per night for deluxe. There will be 5 of us (3 adults, 2 kiddos). We stayed standard CL before and thought it was a great room with enough space for 5 of us. Underwhelming garden view (we were basically in a tree at the end of the hall). Extra space would be nice, water view would be lovely, but not sure $110/night is worth it. Any input? We will be doing 1/2 days in the parks and resort time otherwise.

we stayed in the deluxe room at the BWI and LOVED it! The water view was nice, but it was the additional space that we really liked. So nice to be able to spread out and relax. We thought that it was worth the upcharge.

It's not just extra space, there's 2 TVs, if that makes any difference to your group. For that, with a lot of resort time, I'd go with the Deluxe

The BWI deluxe rooms are fabulous! They are much roomier than the Beach Club deluxe rooms. They are located on the 3rd & 4th floors. The lounge is located on the 4 th floor as well, but has smaller balconies than the 3rd floor rooms. We prefer the larger balconies even though it’s further to get to the lounge. There are “shortcuts” from the 3 rd floor to get to the lounge. So you might want to consider your preferences before requesting your room. It is definitely worth extra $$ & I know you will love it!

Those rooms are awesome! They are very spacious, and they have a beautiful view of Crescent Lake.
My vote is book for sure. :flower:

If they finally finish that GF bridge, then runners will finally be able to run around 7 Seas Lagoon. I think this is the main reason why my DH does not like the MK resorts: nowhere to run to. My DH always has some type of long run scheduled and from Poly, he usually runs out to WL/FW, does a few loops in the trails there and then heads back. Must be careful because there’s no sidewalk from Poly to the WL/FW area (which is why he doesn’t love the MK resorts). Tell her to google view it in advance so she has an idea.

Just noting that trail from WL to FW is closed at the moment given Reflections construction, FYI.

Your DH is bold getting over there from Poly! :earseek: Far more brave than me!
