I actually went back to look, because I figured you probably posted about your experience previously. I see your truly awful experience happened on January 3, which was a horrible day for many. I just wanted to point that out, because being ready to get a boarding group by 7 will nearly always get you a regular boarding group. Your experience with getting a backup at that time was just a particularly awful day that hasn't been repeated since those 3 days in early January. Hopefully no one will ever have that happen again. I feel for everyone who was there on those days!

Are the "no bag" lines not at the usual corner location (where the canopy curves from facing Skyliner to facing the parking tram)?

There were 2 "no bag" lines that were both the closest to the Skyliner and resort bus drop offs. Regular lines were just beyond that.

Couldn’t agree more. Today’s numbers weren’t that much different than my 1/2 day and it certainly proves that anyone trying on/around holiday weekends should be prepared for BGs to fill very quickly (and that it’s possible for our early Jan experiences to be repeated, or at least be very close).

We finally made it on and all the way through the ride this afternoon. Awesome ride but we put in a lot of effort to get there.
My recommendation would be to be prepared for anything as far as getting on the ride. I’m sure our experience was outside the norm.

To top it off while my DS got a great BG, he did say that HS was so crowded that the lines at other attractions were super long. He and his one buddy are AP holders, but the other guy in their group had only bought a one day ticket. If you are traveling at a high crowd time, my DS's advice is to buy a park hopper.

Not that it would ever happen, but I am so, so glad I am not planning my trip for a Holiday weekend! This is stressing me out for a supposed "low attendence" time. I'd never survive a Holiday weekend!

Personally, I think it’s just the crowds and not related to EMHs. Yesterday BGs went in 6 minutes. It’s just a very busy weekend. You’d assume today would be the busiest day of the holiday weekend since all length trips basically coincide with today.

Yes but if you don’t have a hopper you pick HS today of all days. As one here with boots on the ground, emh has totally made a crowd difference

This could not have come on a better day considering that today will likely be the busiest crowd levels resort-wide from 1/6 thru 2/14!

We're going next Sunday. Not thrilled about going on an EMH day (especially because we are not taking advantage of it) but don't have a choice.

Quick question- the trip is only DW and I. Our MyDisney app lists the two of us and our two children (who will not be on this trip). I know I can call and have them taken off the account but was wondering if it really speeds up the process. My understanding is I need to click on either my wife's name or "select all". Either way, it's just one click. I understand taking people off the list if you had to search through 10 names but with only 4 listed does it make a difference?

I should add that our intention is to spend as much of the day as possible in EPCOT so we are really hoping for a low BG. We will probably ride SDD, then if our BG isn't isn't called wait in line for MFSR. We really don't want to be waiting in the park until 2 or 3 PM because it will cut into the EPCOT time. That's why I'm wondering if deleting the kids from app will actually speed things up when there are only four names listed.

There is a tweet showing that the VQ return line to RotR is backed up to what appears to be the tunnel to enter SWGE. It seems they really went all out with loading up the line tonight.

Leave them on. You'll just click the one name. It's not like you have to click on several names or click on Select All then delete several names. You'll be fine.
