I have a bonvoy points question,do they still let you pool the points? I tried with Dh's acct, and they didn't do it,used the link to transfer on their site....it's annoying b/c I have some 'orphan' points just sitting there....
You can transfer 100k points per year to another member, but that's it. I think I did have to have DH call to transfer from his account to mine (gave him the phone number and both MR account numbers) and it worked.

Can't be done online.

Bonvoy!

P2 needs to call (801) 468-4000 and have his and your Marriott account numbers ready. (Or vice versa.) They'll probably ask him some questions to confirm his ID, ask how many points he wants to transfer (max 100k per calendar year), and to what account (yours). Done. There's no fee to do this.

My ILs live there so we have spent quite a bit of time in the area. We went one summer and my MIL said never to come again in late July/early Aug as they hibernate since it is just scorching.

Last week I canceled and rebooked a car rental through Chase. Original price was 17,923 UR, second was 16,574. So when I get done with the transaction I log out and log in to make sure my point total is correct. It was, it went up to 125,***, the difference between the two car rentals, 1349. The next day I'm looking at my account and I have 143,***, exactly 17,923 more points than I had the previous day. Nothing shows up in my rewards history except the 16574 that I redeemed for the car rental. So it seems like my 17,923 got credited twice, right? Am I missing something? Anyone else ever have this happen?

Just booked our March 2021 spring break cruise on RCCL Harmony of the Seas using URs via CSR.

I shopped around for cruise and room I wanted then called Chase Travel. She took my info, pulled up the cruise and booked the room I wanted. I paid about $250 extra for a fully refundable deposit and added ~$400 in prepaid gratuities to the total. Used just shy of 300k URs for a Central Park view balcony for 4 (we add one of my nieces to our room so SIL doesn't have to book a cabin for 5). I'll monitor prices and see if I can move to an Oceanview balcony as the cruise gets closer. I may also check out the savings of doing an onboard booking during our cruise in July. One of the benefits of the refundable fare is I can keep price shopping.

Now to replenish my UR balance which is looking so sad.
on the price monitor (I still can't wrap my head around HOW to do this) I did similiar, thru the portal.... so if I see a price change or ,say a better room at the same price, do I call Chase and they can adjust it? Do I monitor my sailing,so I can do that?

To add on to these fine answers, it's a minimum of 1000 points to transfer. @hsmamato2

I believe you can transfer them still. You might need to call though. I’m actually not familiar with this transfer link...interesting although it seems it didn’t work.
Yeah,so I tried the 'account merge' feature on their site.... got en email response "Membership in the Marriott Bonvoy™ program is based on individual participation. The account, the account number and any earnings associated with it are assigned to that individual at the time of enrollment, and the name on the account cannot be changed to that of another individual, nor can accounts in different names be merged or combined. This includes the account of a spouse, partner, family member, friend or colleague."

...Not sure what that feature is for then......maybe we can try calling in.... I still have the Bonvoy biz,and it's the card with all the offers so points are still trickling into my account!

So sad it’s off Netflix 😢
They have lost everything good. I was one season from finishing Fraiser when I lost it. Followed it to Hulu got distracted by Burn Notice and now I see Hulu has White Collar. Honestly if I didn’t use Netflix as a gift for two different family members I would have dropped it this month (after years of being a subscriber).

up to 100k? can it be done multiple times, until that 100k ceiling? I don't have nearly that many lol

Yes, some travel agencies do that for you but I doubt Chase does. So you need to the one who proactive.

Haha because I was literally coming here to talk about this :) You have to call, only thing you can do online is merge your SPG & Bonblah accounts.

Yesterday a family member offered me a few thousand Bonblah points because they were expiring. We called up Marriott, he gave them his info and they asked how many points he wanted to transfer. I took the call from there with my account info and the points were in my account today. Idk if I needed to be on the phone. There was no charge, he had no status but I am Bonblah gold fwiw. Phone call took 5-10 mins.

So in order to re-book you have to do a refundable deposit? I was thinking of just waiting for the President's Day sale, but I know nothing about Royal Caribbean.

Interesting because last year I had SW as my airline, charged 5.60 x 12 flights all reimbursed. Plus EBCI x6.
Man AMEX likes to make credits unusable.
Amex loves to make credits unusable. What worked last week might not work this week. For the like 3 things left that are legit you can chat and they’ll credit it. If not you’re crossing your fingers it goes through and they don’t claw it back in 2 years.

Ok, yeah - The purpose of that is to merge accounts. If one person ended up with multiple bonvoy accounts that would be a request to combine them. That’s not for transferring points between people.

Yeah, I'll be looking around the DVC boards where I used to post quite a bit, but after 20 years I don't get much excited about it.

The Fire thread just moves so slow, along with the hotel thread, that I forget about both. Still interesting when something new gets going.
I joined the boards when I was thinking about first buying DVC . The DVC boards were a great help for me. I still go on them occasionally.

My SW biz statement closed yesterday- however my pending points still hasn't posted. My personal SW closed earlier in the month and they posted right after the statement closed, within a couple hours.

How long does it normally take the SW biz points to post?

Update! LOL- points just posted, yay! Wonder how long until I am able to add companion now?

I think the account merge was to merge one person's old SPG and Marriott accounts into the new Bonvoy account. Or maybe if you accidentally had 2 accounts but with the same name.

You *might* be able to update your existing booking even with a non refundable deposit. I know I've done that in the past. However many of RCCL's sales are for new bookings only and that's where the fully refundable deposit can come into play. You can essentially cancel your existing booking, get 100% refund (points, cash, combo, all back to original form of payment) and then rebook at the new lower rate. There could be a delay in getting your URs refunded so not sure exactly how that would work timing wise.

I know on the previous cruise I booked through Chase on NCL, I could only upgrade my booking, they wouldn't allow any refund due to a sale. So in this case I was able to upgrade to a mini suite for about $250 more than our current booking.

They don't make it easy so for me the refundable deposit was worth it. I know I'm free to cancel or rebook for any reason even if it is a bit of a pain to rebook.
