I’m pretty peeved off right now. Everything from our amazon order arrived except the crib mattress. It was supposed to come today and UPS showed tracking. I looked this morning and see it now says undeliverable and won’t even show up on UPS’s website. I’ve been chatting with someone from amazon for about 40 minutes and he said it’s been damaged. Why can I not see this? If I hadn’t chatted with amazon I would’ve had no idea why my order was suddenly “undeliverable”.

We got it at a discount with our baby registry and the Amex 20%. He said he can’t replace it, only refund it. I told him we got a bunch of discounts and he said just reorder the item and they’ll deal with the price change. I took screenshots of everything to make sure this actually happens

ETA: They issued a refund for the first one. We ordered a new one and should see a $25 gc in our account soon to make up for the price difference. I’m mainly upset that there was no communication about our product being damaged. What if I was someone who didn’t know to check these things?

It was time to renew SiriusXM this month and I won't get into all the rigamarole we went through to come out ahead, but wanted to put out there they have a 1 year offer for about $10 a month with a free Echo Dot. If you choose that option it's the monthly charge subscription and not a pay up front that gets the promo code for the Dot. That'd be good if SiriusXM keeps putting out those $5 CC offers I have on every card now.

I can't report if there was the better $30 for 6 still available. Despite my urging to hubby that he's got to really cancel once to get the best offers, or at least sound like he really means it, he tends to jump on a reasonable one.
Yep we're subsidizing all your cheap contracts, y'all are welcome. 😔

Question on redeeming from the barclay Arrival+. I am wanting to use our points for a vrbo rental for my daughter's college graduation this spring. I'm somewhat up in the air as far as how many from my extended family are coming, so I have two big houses rented for the weekend and may end up needing only one. I've had to put the refundable deposit down on them and I was planning to use the Arrival+ points to "pay" for the weekend. If I use points to erase the charges now and end up cancelling one of the two houses, will it mess with the refund on my credit card? It would be fine with me if I got the points back instead of an actual credit since I didn't actually pay money for it anyway, but I just want to make sure I don't lose out on the use of the point.

After re-reading, that seems confusing, so I hope you can follow what I'm trying to ask lol!
I did something similar on the Arrival+ last summer. When I cancelled, they did not take back the refund. Not sure if it's changed since then, though.

I thought @Jen and Ashwin mentioned getting them discounted before. Maybe she or someone else familiar can help out :)

I have purchased RC gift cards from Swagbucks in the past and used them without any issues. That said, they had changed the language to say that it could only be applied to new bookings and I haven't tried them since then. I have used Chase UR points to pay for my last 3 cruises.

My husband got approved for CIC yesterday morning. Says will be here within 10 business days. I need it by Jan 31 to pay school registration fees. He has more than 1 Chase business card - do you think I should risk asking to expedite? Maybe I’m too late actually, it’s been about 36 hours.

We had this happen with my Apple Watch when I used an Amex discount plus it was on sale. It all of a sudden showed up as undeliverable. I contacted Amazon they wanted to just refund my money too. I refused to accept that and had a ridiculously hard time getting them to match the price. I went back and forth with the lady for like an hour cause she kept giving me an incorrect amount. My dd19 was sitting with me while I was chatting and she could tell I was about to lose it.

I'm sorry and that's really frustrating. Like @wendow said, keep on them and I think eventually you'll get it to work out, but I'm sure it will be an exercise in patience. So take a break and try a new rep if you're not getting anywhere. Great idea on saving screenshots, those could come in handy. I think the biggest challenge will be the Amex 20% off (assume this was the use 1 MR get 20% off?). Amazon may not be able to get that applied but they should be able to extend a courtesy credit so keep on them. Good luck and keep us posted. You've got this!

DH was talking to PayPal last night about an order that he paid for from eBay that never showed up. DS and I were cracking up in the other room. They have the worst customer service. I don’t know why we don’t just dispute the charge with AmEx. It would be much easier.

I have a weird question.... so I did the sams/amex offer ($45/25) used Dh's cc for a membership in my name - I see statement closed 1/12- started membership on 1/16... I am set up,see membership on sams club, and NO record of the transaction on the amex..... is this a timing thing,or a true glitch? Not in pending, nothing. Anyone had this sort of thing happen?

On the Amex airline fee reimbursement, it definitely appears YMMV, but I did get reimbursed on Jan 10 for $5.60 and $3.80, which were both charges for taxes on award flights booked on Jan. 7 (the $3.80 is because I had $1.80 in travel funds that I used first). This was on my Plat.

Wait, no resort fees on reward nights with Hilton??!!

Yes! This is super nice. Earlier this week I booked two nights at the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas to see my Cal Bears play UNLV in the Raiders new stadium in August. I used my free weekend night certificate for one of the nights, and the rep confirmed no resort fees on the award night (would normally be $45). I'm paying cash for the other night and for a second room (although might convert to points later after I earn some more). I had to put down a refundable deposit on each room and am waiting for my $250 resort credit reimbursement to hit my account.

New Southwest Promotion. You do have to book Anytime or Business Select so may not be useful to most.

Book and fly one round trip and get 2,000 points
Book and fly a second round trip and get 4,000 more points
Book and fly a third round trip and get 6,000 more points

I had this too, but agree it's probably not going to be useful given it doesn't apply to WGA fares. I went ahead and registered though, just in case a business trip comes up or something...

I haven’t seen the gc in the account yet but I’ll give it a little bit. They did end up refunding the difference. It was about $25. It’s not a lot but it’s still money. I bought the new mattress using the CIP so at least that’s getting some spend

Thanks for the additional info! His cards were opened 25 months ago & those are the only ones we’ve opened in over 10 years, so I should be good with that. But I’ll double check if they show just to be sure.

Since they were opened 25 months ago and no new cards since then you are both 0/24....and if interested can look into both of you opening a new Chase card every 3 months. It’s best not to put each other on as an AU since it will count against 5/24

Our total order had a lot of things in it so we won’t be getting the 20% Amex applied just because it was used on the other things we bought. I ordered a new mattress with my CIP (helps my MSR) and am waiting on a $25 gc from amazon for the price difference

We stayed at the Waldorf Vegas last July and it was great. Eatily is right next door and is such a fun place to eat and browse. The burger place just outside the doors is also really good (I think owned by Bobby Flay). We also received a $50/night/room credit to spend at the hotel. Our gold status got us upgrades to strip view rooms and free water too. We loved that hotel and would definitely stay there again. I loved that there was no casino, just enter lobby and elevator straight to your room.

Crazy since the PayPal dispute should be easy....since the seller will not be able to provide a tracking number showing delivery
