We stayed at the Waldorf Vegas last July and it was great. Eatily is right next door and is such a fun place to eat and browse. The burger place just outside the doors is also really good (I think owned by Bobby Flay). We also received a $50/night/room credit to spend at the hotel. Our gold status got us upgrades to strip view rooms and free water too. We loved that hotel and would definitely stay there again. I loved that there was no casino, just enter lobby and elevator straight to your room.

So glad to hear this :) Thanks! And thanks for the recommendations. Yes, the no casino was a big plus for me. I'm Diamond with Hilton due to my Aspire, so also hoping for an upgrade.

New Southwest Promotion. You do have to book Anytime or Business Select so may not be useful to most.

Book and fly one round trip and get 2,000 points
Book and fly a second round trip and get 4,000 more points
Book and fly a third round trip and get 6,000 more points
Yeah... only worth it on someone else's dime.

Yeah,so I tried the 'account merge' feature on their site.... got en email response "Membership in the Marriott Bonvoy™ program is based on individual participation. The account, the account number and any earnings associated with it are assigned to that individual at the time of enrollment, and the name on the account cannot be changed to that of another individual, nor can accounts in different names be merged or combined. This includes the account of a spouse, partner, family member, friend or colleague."

...Not sure what that feature is for then......maybe we can try calling in.... I still have the Bonvoy biz,and it's the card with all the offers so points are still trickling into my account!

This feature was primarily used to merge an individual’s separate SPG and Marriott accounts under the new, unified Bonvoy program.

Crazy since the PayPal dispute should be easy....since the seller will not be able to provide a tracking number showing delivery

They generally side with the buyer no matter what, Even with valid tracking numbers and signatures! We had to drop them with my side business, its was just nuts what they would consider valid dispute arguments. Stuff like "I forgot I ordered that, so don't want it" and PP would just refund them back without making them return it. We even had one case where the buyer sent us an email saying they were going to dispute the transaction because they felt it should have been cheaper to screw us because we would not reduce the price, even after sending that email in they still sided with the buyer. I won't use them as a seller anymore.

DH was talking to PayPal last night about an order that he paid for from eBay that never showed up. DS and I were cracking up in the other room. They have the worst customer service. I don’t know why we don’t just dispute the charge with AmEx. It would be much easier.

I think its in their TOS you won't dispute with your CC you have to use their processes. I don't know what would happen if you tried, you would prob loose since they would just send their TOS but at least they would be hit with a ~$25 disputed transaction fee. :rotfl2:

I joined the boards when I was thinking about first buying DVC . The DVC boards were a great help for me. I still go on them occasionally.

I bought DVC a few years before joining Disboards. I actually learned about DVC in 1997 when I stayed on a promo at Disney's Hilton Head Resort. Three years later after I gave it some thought I bought my first contract at Boardwalk.

I was active with a bunch of others on the old AOL message boards. When they disappeared I wandered from Yahoo group to other Yahoo groups and eventually settled into Disboards after a friend of mine was at Grand Floridian and met Pete Werner there. After a conversation with him she got me to sign up along with many of the rest of our group. They are scattered here and there around these boards.

I agree with this 1000%. I had an order from BF never show up. When I filed a dispute with PP they said I'd have to have USPS provide proof that it wasn't delivered. How the heck was I supposed to do that? I filed online with USPS and 2 days later received an e-mail saying my file had been closed (they never even contacted me). PP wouldn't budge. That was the last time I will pay directly from my PP account. I am out $170.00.

That is cool! I had been to Disney many times over the years but only started going annually in 2006. It was too much for me earlier to contemplate traveling with 3 young kids. After 2 trips we were hooked more than ever and mainly wanted to have the larger accommodations and also a reason to keep going back. Before 2006 we hadn't taken a vacation in 9 years!
We wanted to buy at BC or BW but our "guide" said there wasn't anything available. I was too chicken and didn't know enough about resale so we bought in direct at Kidani before it opened. Then 5 years later added on resale when I found a great contract at BW.

Thanks, so I am glad we didn't go that route. In this case, the seller is totally at fault. DH paid for the item and the seller never sent it. DH followed up with him and he gave him a bogus confirmation number. PayPal said the seller had until 1/14 to respond and still no resolution. PayPal now says the refund won't happen until at least 1/25. It's just a major hassle.

Yes it is true. It is another reason I loathe marriott.
Do you know if there are parking fees at Hilton? I assume so but just curious. I was going to use Bonvoy points to stay at one of the bigger marriotts outside WDW when I take my dd down but between the $45 night resort fee and like $30 parking fee (might have actually been a bit higher), I could not bring myself to book it. Free on points or not, that is just ridiculous!

I believe you do still have to pay for parking. We got lucky one time staying at a Hilton in DS and they didn’t charge us for parking for some reason

which Marriott ?....so far we have not been charged a resort or parking fee at any of the Marriott Vacation Clubs booked with URs

I've got a shiny new CIC on its way :woohoo:

@Haley R I just noticed your countdown---third trimester woohoo

Yes! This is super nice. Earlier this week I booked two nights at the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas to see my Cal Bears play UNLV in the Raiders new stadium in August. I used my free weekend night certificate for one of the nights, and the rep confirmed no resort fees on the award night (would normally be $45). I'm paying cash for the other night and for a second room (although might convert to points later after I earn some more). I had to put down a refundable deposit on each room and am waiting for my $250 resort credit reimbursement to hit my account.

It's going to be easy to sell dh on starting with Hilton!

Have you booked a cruise on RCCL using URs? Do you call Chase and pay deposit on credit card (CSR in this case) and then close to paid in full date you call and make final payment using URs? I'm thinking of asking for refundable deposit and just paying it all off in URs including deposit.Deposit is $1000 so I'd like the benefit of redeeming at 1.5x points on that too.

Yes. I have a cruise booked for this December on RCCL Oasis of the seas. Cruise total was $3262.84 this was for a refundable deposit (since I booked so far out) and also includes gratuities. This is for 4 people in a Balcony Cabin. At the time of booking I paid in full with 217,522 UR's with my CSR. The deposit amount was $1000 but I just paid it all since you can only use points once to pay.

I just did the same!
