News Round Up 2020

Nemo at 55 minutes is probably just a side effect of not many attractions at Epcot AND the tiering where people just get a NEMO fast pass .. just because there is nothing else. Nemo (the glorified people mover) should be a walk-on at all times
Len Testa said on a recent Disney Dish that Nemo was seeing long wait times because of the way they were routing people with all the construction.

I took a glance at the park hours today, holy smokes. We are on the edge of spring break and MK has closings as early as 8PM! DHS is closing around 8:30 most nights. It seems like those hours are already about as short as they can get. Hopefully, they are taking steps to fix some of these problems before bigger Crowds materialize. Keeping the most popular theme park in the world open for only 11hrs a day seems like a recipe for disaster from a guest satisfaction perspective.

I would have to imagine that many "first timers" who visited anywhere near Presidents Day or Mardis Gras will never come back.

I know they would never do it, but part of me wonders if they could have each park closed one day a week (alternate what park each day) for maintenance, and just keeping things running better vs so stretched.
I actually really like that idea... either that or every so often (maybe once every two weeks pick one of the 4 parks to only open for 1/2 a day and offer a special discount ticket that can only be purchased day of) Although with them drawing down hours lately I hope they are taking the opportunity to spend more time on maintenance with shorter days (but I secretly doubt it)

Makes sense . .if people are being routed TO the Seas directly now with the new entrance (and have to leave that way) . .the Seas pavilion is probably seeing much more traffic. The walk between attractions at Epcot is huge and the Seas probably was skipped a lot since it was a "dead end" (sorta)

Yeah, we have been so many times but we often "forget" about the seas because its tucked back in the corner of the park with no link to the front entrance... Any more news about the interior getting some light refurbing? I love the aquarium but it could use some love.

We look at crowds from OUR perspective (being there MANY times .. we know what there is to do there . .what we CAN do there, etc.). I am sure there are MANY families that go there .. just find the place magical to be at .. find going on a few rides that are new to them (no matter what they are) magical .. etc. etc.

We know if the wait for Nemo is 55 minutes that is ridiculous, but first timers don't . .and probably don't care. I mean .. if they are used to going to their local Six Flags .. waiting 30-60 minutes (or more) for rides there aren't a big deal and there isn't even any theming on most lines.

I am sure there are many people (that just aren't into Disney to begin with) that ANY crowd or ANY wait is ridiculous . .and there is the opposite .. where any wait is worth it. (I mean .. people get into the lines to ride FOP, SDD, etc. when those posted wait times are 2 hours or MORE and are happy about it)

Magic Kingdom definitely had a rough day today. Haunted Mansion down all day, Splash Mountain went down in the afternoon, Peoplemover was down with emergency lights shining in Space Mountain when we rode it (which was terrifying, btw), and we were walking by the castle when they announced the 4:30ish Friendship Faire was cancelled. We still had a good day, but it was definitely noticeable that every time we turned around something was amiss.

Good points. I still think keeping the parks open later than 8PM would have helped a lot of that insanity regardless. And I still think there were likely some people who won't be back. Friend of DH's used to rave about it, then went during the Pro Bowl, and now vows never to return.

Looks super cute, but the animatronics look a little weird to me (especially Pete). But I think DHS really needs a ride of this style.
