Summer 2020 Trips - If WDW Is Open, We're Going! *Update: WDW Open July 11*

SO is determined we go. It's been a very stressful quarter for him at work, both with the WFH and with their client requests (he's a software developer). He says he needs this vacation. So if it's open, we'll be there.

We book FP on April 28th for our end of June/4th of July trip!

6 nights at Caribbean Beach Resort, and the weekend at Yacht Club for the holiday!

We did recently cancel our flights because Delta totally jacked their schedule, but we got a full refund and anywhere we rebook right now we save $$$$. We plan to make a decision the first week of May and book flights then.

I am right there with you! We LOVE the YC. The theming, remodeled rooms, food & drink options and of course, the LOCATION! We are big DHS fans so the YCs proximity to the park is a dream to us. We also love ending the night in EPCOT.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the possible future state of CL. The planner in me is having a very hard time dealing with the "unknown." We booked CL mostly for the FP option, so the other perks were just a bonus. But like you said, if they still serve coffee, espresso, soda, wine and beer, - I'm still in!
Our 90 day was Saturday. I'm still hoping DSS will come back in the next two weeks!

At this point, I'm also considering doing a VIP Tour instead of relying on CLFPs, but I still need DSS to be able to book that! :P
I'm not sure when you're going, but someone posted in the June group that they contacted VIP tours, and were told they aren't allowing any tours to be booked at any parks for the whole month of June...

I've posted in other threads, so I apologize to those who are getting me again. :)
Rescheduled from March to June 9-17. Also have back up August 11-19th.
I am just thrilled to have this thread which is for us with slivers of hope and NO negativity! 🙅‍♀️So exhausted by the doom and gloom crowds. I just want a thread that allows us to feel a bit of excitement for Disney still, even if it ends up a dream. :tink:
Yes! You said exactly what I was thinking!
I'm so happy this thread was started. THIS is the community I need right now!

Keeping the hope alive for summer!

Yeah, I heard that, too. Thanks for sharing, though.

I'm still choosing to be optimistic. Maybe something will change.

Side note- if WDW is open and crowds are low, the benefit of CLFPs and VIP tours will probably be deminished. People with June trips have been posting about limited availability for FPs, but as of today, others are posting that FPs availability seems to be close to "normal".

We will remain flexible and consider all of our options, if/when those options become available to the public. :-)

That's my FP date too! June 27th - July 7th!

I actually have a tour booked (Marceline to Magic Kingdom) for June 30th. I hope that doesn't wind up getting canceled. Well now that I think about it, if the parks are opened, that's all that matters to me!

I read that too! So happy about "normal" fastpasses :lovestruc

Jumping on the positive train. My family is set for July 19th - 26th at the Poly. This is our third reschedule. Originally we were set to go July 2019; however, I severely hurt my arm in May 2019 and wasn’t released from my orthopedic surgeon until January 2020. We rescheduled for March for my son’s spring break and of course that was cancelled too. Third times a charm right?

I have a trip planned 7/13-7/17 (a rescheduled May trip). If it's open (and if NYers don't need to quarantine when they fly into Florida), I'm going. I'm mentally prepared to cancel if I need to, but I'm optimistic. Less optimistic about how I'll handle the heat - it's been a looooong time since I've been to Florida in the summer months.
We are scheduled to go during that week, too. We have been to WDW in Jan, March, April, July and November before, and I have to say, July is one of my favorite times to go!

Summer crowds have been low the past couple of years, which makes touring so much more enjoyable. We have been the past 2 Julys, and FPs and ADRs have been abundant.

My advice is to Rope Drop each day, leave the park around lunch and hang out at your resort until dinner, then head back into the parks for an evening of fun. It will still be hot, but the sun won't be as brutal.

No one can say what this summer will look like, but July is a great time to go!

We are scheduled July 30 to August 5 at disney and August 5-8 at universal. We have tickets already for H2O glow night at Typhoon lagoon so I hope the water parks are open! This was our new thing for this trip. We have done 1 trip in June (2012) and 4 trips in November since then. We said never again for summer but here we are booked for July. :rotfl2:I just didn't want to pull the kids out of school at the age they are. We're booked at Animal kingdom lodge which I am really excited about too!

We’re looking at Via Napoli on the 24th too but for lunch:) the only reservation we have is for rose and crown at 7:40pm on the 20th for Epcot forever views:) I’m still holding onto the dream of my perfect memorial week plans and haven’t fully booked my July trip yet:)

We are keeping everything crossed for 30 June to 19 July, YC plus two nights at HRH. Applied for ESTA yesterday and it was issued almost immediately. Daughter is a teacher at a boarding school, which has been closed since March, and some boarding schools in the U.K. have just announced that they are rescheduling the ‘summer term’ and will reopen in late June and teach through August. Oh oh, another hurdle!

I hear ya on that! I’m a nurse, working ICU, and my husband is a captain in the fire dept so he is also essential! Our two girls are digitally learning and most days feel like a blur. I am grateful to still be working, so I try not to complain . Some days, the exhaustion and stress get the best of me ! Hopefully we both get our “vacation”! Good Luck out there
Just wanted to say "hey" - thanks for your work in the ICU and from the Mother of a Fire Fighter to Wife of a Capt in the Fire Fighting Service - God Bless your husband. My son is early in his career and I know how important his Capt is to him! God Bless Your entire Family for the services you and your husband provide!

I can feel that! It was hard for me to give up my MDW plans.

What are your touring plans looking like this summer? So far we only have dining planned! View attachment 489588

We book our FP's a week from today. In a weird way I'm happy for quarantine on this day only because I'm a teacher on the West Coast. That 3:30 wake up call and 4 am booking had me looking for a sub for that day just a couple months ago!
Our dining is seriously perfect. We are a little bummed because we were so hoping to visit Woody's Barbecue Roundup Restaurant this summer, but seems unlikely now it will be open for our first week of July trip.
But we got CG fireworks viewing, a fireworks dessert party, 'Ohana, Artist Pointe, and Saan'a.

Since its just us 2, and 6 day hoppers, I'm really comfortable with the fact that (with careful planning) we should be able to see and do most things.

EDIT, almost forgot we got an 8:10 PPO reservation at Be Our Guest too!
