“Rise” to the Challenge, FREAK!! Done and new trip report started 5/2/21

Sounds like a lovely Epcot day despite the rain! I LOVE your polka dot raincoat!!! :) In the Nemo pics, you reminded me of Mr. Ray!
The rain wasn’t horrible so that really helped.
You are right I do resemble Mr. Ray, good eye Jackie!
We love Journey into Imagination, too! It has a bit of nostalgia for me as one of Jimmy's first attractions, and he still insists to ride it on every trip :) Plus, I love the song!!
Andi and I do love this ride. We always think about Jack and how much he would hate it, haha 😂
I would really have loved to be there if you actually DID say that to him! :) It seems so "un-Caroline" to me!! LOL
We can’t fix stupid! I can think a good cuss, I just don’t say it! :hyper:
Aww, hello little Douglas. He certainly is cute!
He is so sweet!

I'm sorry you should be in Disney right now :( It's a sad time not knowing when we will be back in our happy place. I too am supposed to be there in August but I am trying to accept that it's most likely not going to happen. But trying to hold onto hope..for both of us!

I love your colorful rain ponchos! Sounds like a nice time in Epcot!

Doug is so cute, congrats on your grandbunny!! hehehe
It is sad! I love F&G and missing this, the parks, and the nice weather is hard.
I sure hope we both can go in August! I think it is your bachelorette trip, so very important! I go back and forth on the upcoming trip. I want to go more than anything except I don’t want to be stressed out while there either!
I love my new polka dot raincoat it works well! We had a nice afternoon in Epcot even with the rain
Little Douglas is so cute!

Solo Disney is the best way to make the time between trips with family/friends a lot shorter! So sad that your make up trip did not work out either, I don't think any of us could have guessed this would go on for so long. A fall trip would be so nice, as much as not being able to go right now stinks, at least we will appreciate Disney that much more when we are finally able to go back! Have you done HHN before? It looks so fun but I am so bad with haunted houses, I'm not sure that I would last beyond one or two and I'd definitely have my eyes 99% closed the entire time :hyper:.

I haven't seen Awesome Planet yet but I've heard good things. Nice to have another option to get out of the elements and off the feet! Front seat of boat rides is the best, so much more immersive. Those pictures in front of the Seas are so cute! All the food looks so good, my mom is a huge cheesecake fan so I'm sure she would have loved that. We had the honey cheesecake from F&G Honey Bee-stro a few years ago and loved it! I love how creative Disney is with these festivals, it seems like that would be such a fun job to come up with all of the dishes.

I am amazed by the parents who bring small children that outnumber them! I think I will make my future kids wear those backpacks with leashes . Oopsies about SE, glad you were able to ride right away again! Oh man the line etiquette always drives me crazy, in Disneyland the same thing happened while checking in for our breakfast and people were lined up in the hot sun instead of using the stanchions (so that's what they're called!) under the umbrellas, so annoying!

Your grand bunny is so handsome! :flower:

I love Andi's bunny! My daughter also has a black bunny, named Amigo. He has been in our family for a long time, and I have been his grandma since she moved to New York in 2017. Thanks for sharing the picture of Doug! Amigo with Alyssa.JPG

Our boarding group was called by 8:15am, off we go to help the Resistance. This was our 3rd ride and we loved it. We had a front seat and it is amazing 😉 I saw new things again! I am so glad we had 3 opportunities to ride this fantastic attraction!
Fantastic morning in Baatu!
I really hope I get to experience these rides sometime in the not too distant future.
With everything going on, I won't even be able to think of a trip until next year.

There were a few new displays in the LwtL tour. This is a simple ride that really has so much information in it! The ride is a staple for us, we love it and ride every single trip!
I have always enjoyed that ride too. I can't really explain it, but I have liked it since I was young and still have to go on at least once a trip.

When we got to our vehicle, my bag accidentally hit Chinese for our language. We couldn’t change it, the ride was not the same without Dame Judi!
I did that once too! It wasn't nearly as good an experience. I wonder how much SE will change after the refurb.

First are the happy thoughts, it was one year ago today that I headed to WDW for the Epic trip!
That was quite the trip. I enjoyed reading everyone's TRs about it. :)
Well, let me just say, I had the best time and met the nicest group of Diser’s!
It sure looked like... well... like an epic time!
My sad thoughts are missing Disney, I would have been in WDW today, this was our makeup trip for March.😥We would have been staying at POFQ and enjoying the F&G festival. I even snagged M&M railway, SDD, and 7DMT FPs. To top it off, the weather has been beautiful in Orlando this week. Sighs!
My unsure and bewildered thoughts have to do with future trips to WDW this year.
Yeah... :(
I get that.
I know that even when the parks open, I might not be able to go anyways.
1. the border might not be open.
2. might not allow international flights.
3. might have to self-quarantine if I travel and I don't think I can afford the time on top of a vacation.
I would love to spend 2 nights at US and do HHN👻🎃 Those are my thoughts, what do you all think?
I think that's a great idea. Just finished reading about HHN on another TR. Sounds like fun. :)
Andi did not have a ticket for US because her mom didn’t upgrade to AP’s for US in August. I’m still mad at myself over that one!
You should be!
I mean... adding an AP onto a Disney ticket is about $2,385,000, but adding an AP onto a US ticket is about... $35.
We decided to do the new film attraction called Awesome Planet 🌎 in the Land pavilion.
Glad you enjoyed it. Would you recommend it?
I believe Phil from Modern Family is the narrator.
I'm so sad they ended that show! I've seen every episode.
This is a simple ride that really has so much information in it! The ride is a staple for us, we love it and ride every single trip!
<sigh>
I guess I just never rode it before, so can't get into it now.
We headed to Find Nemo again! That little fish sure gets lost a lot!
 His dad should be reported!
We are classy, keeping the rain gear on!
But no hat!
Isn’t the starfish at the end a hoot, I love her!
::yes::
We got to see divers working with the juvenile sting rays.
Cool! Do you know what they were doing?
Just once I'd love to be in there when a DISer was dining at Coral Reef or at the observation area.
I think about some people I know and they would think this is the dumbest ride! My son would be one of them, he is just way to cool 😎 and serious. He needs a little purple dragon in his life!
I wanted to try the Wild Mushroom Risotto in Canada 🇨🇦. This was our first stop and this dish was delicious. I loved it. We gave it 2 thumbs up.
Hello! It's mushroom risotto! How could you not love it???
There was a mom with 5 children in front of us, she looked exhausted, and she was pregnant. Her children all had to be under 7!
Holy smokes! I bet she was exhausted!
I thought for sure one would end up falling out of the boat! They made me nervous! Andi, on the other hand, was just annoyed by them!
Yikes!
But... I totally get the difference of reactions between you and Andi.
When we got to our vehicle, my bag accidentally hit Chinese for our language.
Oh, no!
And yet... I almost want to do this, just to see how it sounds!
We noticed the ride kept making abrupt stops and then starting right back up. I hadn’t experienced that before. Usually it is the longer stops, it was weird!
Yeah, that's not normal.
I headed to the bus stop. I got there and people were lined up all wrong, yikes! They were in single file to the sidewalk and not using the stanchions.
:sad2:
I've seen that once, too.
I explained how to line up and one guy says oh you must work for Disney! I just smiled and wanted to say no dumba**, I just know proper bus etiquette!
I did similar. I walked past everyone until I got to the first person who was doing it wrong. I asked them to proceed down and around the stanchions. Everyone followed like good little sheep.
This is Douglas, he is Andi’s pet rabbit. He is the cutest little guy. I call him my “grandbunny”. She sends me pictures and videos everyday of little Doug and it helps me feel happy, especially at work these days! She bought him a harness and takes him out in the yard!
Awww... cute bunny. :)

First are the happy thoughts, it was one year ago today that I headed to WDW for the Epic trip!
Yay! Those are great memories  and when we finally met!
have fun at my bloggers convention 😃
:rotfl:
My sad thoughts are missing Disney, I would have been in WDW today, this was our makeup trip for March.😥We would have been staying at POFQ and enjoying the F&G festival. I even snagged M&M railway, SDD, and 7DMT FPs. To top it off, the weather has been beautiful in Orlando this week. Sighs!
I'm there with you  I often think about the Disney cruise we missed in April and now of course our Memorial weekend trip isn't happening. For someone who doesn't plan much ahead, that trip was just perfect in terms of the FP's I got, where we were eating and when, everything!
This is great, however, for myself I do have reservations about this. It will really depend on the restrictions and how safe I feel about traveling. Time will tell. I really want to go back to Disney in August or September. I have a trip booked for 8/17-8/24 and I am not going to cancel unless I feel it is necessary. I might change this trip to September if it works with Andi’s schedule. I would love to spend 2 nights at US and do HHN👻🎃 Those are my thoughts, what do you all think?
Well I have lots of thoughts on this and first and foremost I'd like to hear from Disney! I think WHEN they reopen and what the restrictions/ new requirements etc are will determine for lots of people IF they'll take their planned trips. Some will be a no due to what's changed and then of course, do they feel safe.
I get questions about this about 15x a day due to work lol and it's not easy to give anyone an answer as to whether they should take their summer 2020 trip or their anytime 2020 trip.....so I think right now like you said we all need to wait somewhat patiently to see when they open and how and take it from there and everyone needs to do what they're comfortable with while respect that others will feel different 💛 As for changing to Sept - doesn't sound bad at all! Neither does doing HHN which we may do again too!
There were a few new displays in the LwtL tour.
This is probably my favorite part of LwtL, the always changing displays
Our next stop was France for the Brie bread bowl and the frozen French martini 🍸 This was very good. The two went together well. The Brie dish was so yummy and perfect for a rainy afternoon.
Loved the brie bread bowl!

Before I start this update, I am sitting here with many happy, sad, unsure, and bewildered 😳thoughts! First are the happy thoughts, it was one year ago today that I headed to WDW for the Epic trip!
❤ ❤ ❤ I can't believe it was a year ago already. Best. Trip. Ever.

My unsure and bewildered thoughts have to do with future trips to WDW this year. I know most of my friends on here will head back to Disney as soon as able. This is great, however, for myself I do have reservations about this.
I'm so with you. I know people are anxious for Disney to make an announcement but there is no precedent for this. While knowing what they are going to do would be welcomed I like to think that with each passing day they are thinking through the pros and cons of everything and I cannot imagine doing that on this kind of scale. When they do open not sure what we'll do. I know it won't be the same or how I'll feel about traveling. We were going to redo our Disneyland trip in August but pretty sure that isn't going to happen. Right now we aren't going until the end of October which seems reasonable but of course reason went out the window back in March

After the stellar picture session, we went and found Nemo. Isn’t the starfish at the end a hoot, I love her!
IMG_May12020at113643AM.jpg
Love this!! With your colorful ponchos you look like you fit right in

The Brie dish was so yummy and perfect for a rainy afternoon. We huddled under the little gazebo with many others to enjoy our snacks. I let Andi sip on the Martini and she liked this! Another 2 thumbs up!
IMG_May12020at114102AM.jpg
Oh I so wanted to try this last year and Stupid Jason (my ode to Stupid Judy as I call him sometimes) said what could be good about cheese in bread. Um hello cheese in bread? What couldn't be good about that :confused3

When we got to our vehicle, my bag accidentally hit Chinese for our language. We couldn’t change it, the ride was not the same without Dame Judi!
I'm sure this was annoying but now I suddenly want to hear SE in Chinese.

I lined up correctly and some thought I was cutting the line. I explained how to line up and one guy says oh you must work for Disney! I just smiled and wanted to say no dumba**, I just know proper bus etiquette!
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Good for you!!!! Pretty sure people have been lining up since the beginning of time. Why people have such difficulty with this beyond me

IMG_May12020at113444AM.jpg

This is Douglas, he is Andi’s pet rabbit.
Oh he is adorable.

First off, Douglas is adorable!

This was a big step for me. I am a shy person and had not traveled solo to Disney and I was a little nervous 😩 My husband bid me farewell and told me to have fun at my bloggers convention 😃Well, let me just say, I had the best time and met the nicest group of Diser’s! This was one of the best Disney trips I have had! I am forever grateful to have been included in this! I can’t wait to do this again!
This was the best trip ever. Joe and I had so much fun!

As far as going back to Disney, I am all in as soon as they open up. I pray I can go in July!!!!!!

So sad that your make up trip did not work out either, I don't think any of us could have guessed this would go on for so long.
It was sad, this is the first year in many, we haven’t done a spring break trip! No idea this pandemic would be here with no end in sight!
Have you done HHN before?
We did one night in 2016 and we loved it! I am so afraid 😱 of being scared, haha! This is done so well,
haven't seen Awesome Planet yet but I've heard good things.
it is worth checking out, I can’t see doing it every trip
We had the honey cheesecake from F&G Honey Bee-stro a few years ago and loved it! I love how creative Disney is with these festivals, it seems like that would be such a fun job to come up with all of the dishes.
We had that same dish last F&G very good! I was really happy with the different snacks we tried at FART’s 😆
I am amazed by the parents who bring small children that outnumber them!
So am I! This lady really had her hands full, not sure where dad was but he was needed!!
It just wasn’t the same experience in a language we didn’t understand!
The bus etiquette really can be bad, I have seen so many rude, clueless, selfish people at the bus stops!
Your grand bunny is so handsome!
Ahh Isn’t he the sweetest!

I love Andi's bunny! My daughter also has a black bunny, named Amigo. He has been in our family for a long time, and I have been his grandma since she moved to New York in 2017. Thanks for sharing the picture of Doug! View attachment 492373
Amigo is so cute! I’m so glad Andi has Douglas, he really keeps her company! I love getting my pictures everyday!

Fantastic morning in Baatu!
I really hope I get to experience these rides sometime in the not too distant future.
With everything going on, I won't even be able to think of a trip until next year.
You will love it! It is a Star War’s fans dream!
Thanks for continuing to read along!
have always enjoyed that ride too. I can't really explain it, but I have liked it since I was young and still have to go on at least once a trip.
It is a favorite. I remember my dad really enjoying this ride years ago!
I did that once too! It wasn't nearly as good an experience. I wonder how much SE will change after the refurb
Definitely not the same experience! We giggled through most of it!
I am both nervous and excited about the refurbished!

That was quite the trip. I enjoyed reading everyone's TRs about it.
It really was a wonderful trip!
It sure looked like... well... like an epic time!
Epic was a great name!
Yeah... :(
I get that.
I know that even when the parks open, I might not be able to go anyways.
1. the border might not be open.
2. might not allow international flights.
3. might have to self-quarantine if I travel and I don't think I can afford the time on top of a vacation.
There are so many variables and unknowns! As a super organized person this is driving me crazy 😜
I think that's a great idea. Just finished reading about HHN on another TR. Sounds like fun.
We did one night in 2016 and loved it!
You should be!
I mean... adding an AP onto a Disney ticket is about $2,385,000, but adding an AP onto a US ticket is about... $35.
Dumb dumb dumb move on my part!
Glad you enjoyed it. Would you recommend it?
I would! I don’t think it is an every trip attraction but good!
I'm so sad they ended that show! I've seen every episode.
We loved Modern Family!
guess I just never rode it before, so can't get into it now.
Ahh LwtL is a favorite, my dad loved it!
His dad should be reported!
Marlin is a bad clown fish dad, haha!
But no hat!
Standing firm! :rotfl:
Cool! Do you know what they were doing?
Just once I'd love to be in there when a DISer was dining at Coral Reef or at the observation area.
They didn’t really elaborate. They follow the juvenile sting rays and reward positive behavior, so no biting, chasing, or teasing their friends?? :hyper:
Hello! It's mushroom risotto! How could you not love it???
You got that right, yum!!
Holy smokes! I bet she was exhausted!
She looked like she needed a rest, where was Dad? He was needed!
Yikes!
But... I totally get the difference of reactions between you and Andi.
So true!
Oh, no!
And yet... I almost want to do this, just to see how it sounds!
It isn’t fun:sad2:
Yeah, that's not normal.
The quick hard stops very strange!
I did similar. I walked past everyone until I got to the first person who was doing it wrong. I asked them to proceed down and around the stanchions. Everyone followed like good little sheep.
We can’t fix stupid, haha 😂
Awww... cute bunny.
He is so adorable

Thanks Tracy! I have enjoyed my long stretch off. It would have been more fun at Disney! This week was our makeup visit from March and I hear the weather has been beautiful down there!
Oh that's right! Of course it would have been better at Disney! :guilty:

I would have loved to get a glimpse at Harrison Ford!
Me too! ::yes::

Those are my thoughts, what do you all think?
Ugh, I would be having the same number of thoughts as you. And it's just so hard to say what will happen in a couple month's time. I'd hold tight to both trips you have planned for now and wait it out a bit, maybe the next month or so will give us a clue how this will all play out... hopefully on the positive side!

This is Douglas, he is Andi’s pet rabbit. He is the cutest little guy.
How cute is he?!?

Sounds like a great evening at Epcot, even if it was soggy! What I'd give to be strolling through Epcot right about now... even in the rain!

There are so many variables and unknowns! As a super organized person this is driving me crazy 😜
I hear you. I feel like I'm in a holding pattern with life, right now.
We did one night in 2016 and loved it!
:)
Dumb dumb dumb move on my part!
Maybe next time?
Marlin is a bad clown fish dad, haha!
Standing firm! :rotfl:
So I see!
They didn’t really elaborate. They follow the juvenile sting rays and reward positive behavior, so no biting, chasing, or teasing their friends?? :hyper:
Huh. Didn't know that'd work with a stingray. The positive enforcement, thing. For whatever reason.
It isn’t fun:sad2:
Kinda like watching a musical with the sound muted?
We can’t fix stupid, haha 😂
No. You really can't.

The other day, we were heading out for a bit and decided to grab some coffee and food at the drive-thru.
There are two lines. You merge just before you order. There are signs that tell you to form two lines and alternate at the merge line... which is staggered to facilitate merging.
We got there and there were four cars all in the left lane and the right lane was empty. Fine by me. I got in the right lane... and merged in after the next car went forward.
This lady from the back of the line, gets out of her car, marches over and starts screaming at me to get in line. I didn't respond other than to say "There are two lines." I shut up after that, though. You can't deal easily with irrational people, and dealing with stupid irrational people is pretty impossible. She went back to her car.

I still got my order before her, so I was happy with that.

First are the happy thoughts, it was one year ago today that I headed to WDW for the Epic trip!

 Best trip ever. It makes me so happy to see all the memories popping up on Facebook for me this week. I loved getting to meet all of you

Sighs!

I felt that way about our March trip…everything was planned so perfectly and then, POOF, all gone in the blink of an eye :sad1:

My unsure and bewildered thoughts have to do with future trips to WDW this year. I know most of my friends on here will head back to Disney as soon as able. This is great, however, for myself I do have reservations about this.

I don't know about that. We have a trip planned for July 2-10th. We've been planning it for a year as a family trip before Nicholas goes off to Basic Training and I was finally gong to get to see the 4th of July fireworks in person, instead of watching the live stream as I do every year. But honestly, I am 90% certain I am going to cancel that trip by next week. For me there is just too much uncertainty. I've been waiting and watching to see of Disney would be making some sort of official announcement, but with the way our DVC points are and with some new restrictions they just added regarding how we can use them, it just makes some sense to cancel this trip so I cn use those points for a trip next April, which I can book on May 11th. It makes me so sad to have to cancel another perfectly planned trip, especially since I don't know when my family will all be able to go together again :sad1: But besides whatever Disney is planning (and nobody knows anything for sure), I just don't know how safe I would feel traveling then, and I won't know until July when it would be too late to cancel and get my points returned.

We do have a trip planned for October 6-12 with just Aliie, my mom and my great-niece for her very first trip. And next week I'll be booking another trip to BLT for Spring Break. I think having those to look forward to will take some of the sting out of having to cancel.

September seems far enough away and will give you something to look forward too. Have you ever done HHN? It's definitely something to see at least once. Mike loves it and would go every year, but I'm too chicken to ever go back!

I thought for sure one would end up falling out of the boat! They made me nervous!

Ever the mom…and nurse. I do the same thing. I was at a pool party one time and there was a kid swimming with no parents around. I felt like I couldn't have fun because I was too busy watching this kid to make sure he was ok!

When we got to our vehicle, my bag accidentally hit Chinese for our language.

What?? Oh, no! Makes for a different ride!

This is Douglas, he is Andi’s pet rabbit. He is the cutest little guy. I call him my “grandbunny”.

He's adorable!

Yes Andi learned quickly to close out of all apps, shut off phone, turn back on and Bam low boarding group number!!
would suck at it! I would love to see my two kiddos pilot, Jack would be awesome at it, with all his gaming experience! I know if I am the pilot with Andi, she will be yelling at me, for sure! :rotfl:
It is so hard to find any decent breakfast options and Woody’s is usually slammed at this time of day and we didn’t feel like fighting the crowds in TSL so lunch it was with many places to sit!

I actually like to eat on the off hours saving time and headache for sure.
and told me to have fun at my bloggers convention 😃

:lmao: That was such a hoot.
I can’t wait to do this again!

YES!!! Me too!!!
We would have been staying at POFQ and enjoying the F&G festival. I even snagged M&M railway, SDD, and 7DMT FPs. To top it off, the weather has been beautiful in Orlando this week. Sighs!

UGH..
Those are my thoughts, what do you all think?

I think you're on track. An official announement JUST came out in the last 10 minutes.

Andi did not have a ticket for US because her mom didn’t upgrade to AP’s for US in August. I’m still mad at myself over that one!

Oops!!! Dang it! ::headache:

What an interesting display! What are those? Grains piled up in bowls?

The ride is a staple for us, we love it and ride every single trip!

I try to get on that every trip too. Love it.

FISH LIPS!!

There was a mom with 5 children in front of us, she looked exhausted, and she was pregnant. Her children all had to be under 7!

OH Lordy. :scared:

I just smiled and wanted to say no dumba**, I just know proper bus etiquette! I

Yay! Those are great memories  and when we finally met!
They sure are! Such a wonderful trip and memories! Hope we all do this again in the future.

As for changing to Sept - doesn't sound bad at all! Neither does doing HHN which we may do again too!
I’m still toying with this idea. HHN is a fun event!
This is probably my favorite part of LwtL, the always changing displa
Ahh I love this ride so much!
Loved the brie bread bowl!
This was very good. I enjoyed everything we tried at FART’s this year!
