Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

Off topic, I am a social worker & am amazed at how many ppl suddenly are advocates for the safety & health of their fellow man/woman. I don’t recall all this concern & advocacy for others when I was working with the abused, the mentally ill, the homeless, etc. Now all of a sudden everyone is a hero b/c they wear a mask. I suspect all of this new found concern has more to do with the fact that ppl are now more concerned about how it will affect them or their loved ones.

I see what you’re referring to too but I think it’s been around since everything shut down. People are hiding their selfish desire for opening back up behind better sounding reasons. I see a lot of concern voiced over things like suicide, depression, and domestic abuse, right now from way more people than pre-pandemic life and I sure hope these people all continue to care so much when everything opens back up and those problems are very much still real.

I would extend this to concern for CMs, when so many were concerned about getting them back to work I hope they remain concerned about their working conditions including something we as guests can actually control, doing our best to prevent getting them sick (and fellow guests) by wearing masks and not going when sick, and being kind and considerate through this weird time in the parks and of course afterwards too.

I’ll be super sad if we don’t get that Festival Center but that seems like one of the easiest things to cut or scale back on.

I really hope SSE gets the attention it deserves and isn’t hit with cuts. Play pavilion is also really intriguing but since we know so little about it I’m thinking it’ll take some unknown hits too.

I also feel badly for wading back into the great mask debate so I will mention that the thing I am most curious about is modifications to transportation. Does Shanghai not have any Disney operated transportation to the park? Is it more like Anaheim where everyone gets there on their own? I know they have a monorail in Anaheim but the scale of people using Disney transport just to get to the parks is so much smaller there than in Florida. I’d be curious to know how they are handling any transport options in Shanghai if there are any.

Public transit here is still running at a reduced level as things have not opened up yet but one of the changes they’ve made is having riders board the rear door of the bus and asking them to sit away from the driver wherever possible. They’ve also tried to enclose the driver’s seat more with a plexi shield. Disney drivers often get much closer to guests than I see public bus drivers in my commuting mostly because they helping with wheelchair and ECV load in much more often. I wonder how they will approach all of that.

I wish they were doing the temp check before boarding transportation at the resort, as opposed to doing it at the park.
Nobody knows where they will do it.

But if they do it at the parks and folks are concerned the solution is simply to rent a car, avoiding public transport.

Shanghai didn’t.

Someone suggested putting everything in clear plastic bags (like ziplocs) and wiping off those bags after.

in the proposals Texas submitted they had clear bags reccomended so security didn’t have to open them but not a requirement. So basically if you don’t want your bag searched use a clear bag.

And not like ziplocks. Go search stadium clear bags. Lots are made these days since most sporting venues require them.

True, but that won’t work for MK. Even if you drive, you still have to use the monorail or ferry to get to the park. I can’t think of a good workaround for MK.

I agree they haven’t specifically said where they will do it. I was basing it on what they are doing at DS. But we don’t know what they will be doing with resort guests at DS either since the buses aren’t running right now. So maybe they will check at the resorts. So many unknowns right now . . .

At mk for people arriving by car they would check your temp at ttc same place they check your bag
