News Round Up 2020

I would agree with this - if they don't allow park hopping - they should (and I think would) refund the park-hopper portion of the ticket. My guess is they won't refund APs though.

My biggest concern right now is how this whole "pre-reservation" to the parks will work. I never had to worry about being able to go to a park before. We are going in October and so we have a way to go to find out what's happening, but can I ensure I can get into a park that we have a dining reservation in? Can i know when before I'm traveling do I have the parks I want. I am not sweating this because my trip is months away but will be interested to find this out.

My suspicion is that with the entry to parks being tightly controlled, there won't be dining reservations in-park. I don't know if that means that all TS dining will be walk up, or you can put in for a dining time once you're within the park (we already know they have this geotagging capability), but I think advanced ADRs will go the way of fastpasses until making park reservations is a thing of the past.

We do have a thread for discussion on the Disney reopening and everything that goes with that. I suggest we keep that there. As we get back to some semblance of normalcy news will pick up here as well so I would hate for that to get lost as I am already seeing such.
Do you have a link to that thread please?

NEWS

Annual Passholders, DVC, Club 33, Cast Members, and other affinity groups will be first able to attend soft openings at WDW

I have to say that if you read the article it doesn't say what the title says. It says that they stated that they will have soft opening with "cast members and certain affinity groups". It doesn't specify which affinity groups they will use. So it could be AP holders and DVC members, but it isn't necessarily both or either.

It's weird that they (BlogMickey) says the names of the group several times in the article but then the quote just says "affinity groups" .... just checked around and I see "that site we can't source" is reporting similar and actually when listing out the groups has the phrase "will include" bolded

I can see it now, buy 100 points at Riviera and you get yourself spots at soft openings at each park.

So instead of all of our ways of indirectly referencing said site that must not be named, can we all just agree to say "Voldemort" from now on, then we all will know it's that "which must not be named?"

So on Monday I was able to get a price on a room @ Pop but needed to check something so I did not book -- mistake "Big Mistake!". Now you cannot get anything for any time. Disney Chat stated - At this time they are temporarily pausing new ticket sales and hotel res so they can focus on guest w/existing tickets and res -- no date when it will be back up and to keep an eye on the website for details.
