My name is Jason, but my family and people who knew me from the old neighborhood call me Jay, so if I am in store or something and I hear someone scream "Hey Jay", I know someone spotted me from the old Hood, and I get a big smile on my face to see who it is, Old friends are good for the soul

The theme song from Speed Racer...reminds me of my childhood in Troy, Ohio when me and my brother made sure we were home by 3:30 every weekday to make sure we didn't miss one exciting episode! There was no taping shows back then or watching re-runs on cable channels.

I think of Robert Hipsley, He moved from Wisconsin to Ohio, right next to me, and he had this real cool den in the basment we watched tv, and we always watched speed racer, them were the days, not a care in the world

A squirrel pausing to let its tail flitter or a bird taking a bath in a puddle will stop me in my tracks to smile.

Things I can do for myself, comfy socks, not fancy ones but plain warm soft socks; flowers on my table, randoms from the yard or wherever are fine & fresh clean smelling sheets are all life's little luxuries.

My next door neighbor of 5 years initiated a conversation with me recently. We've always been friendly but only in the "HI, how are you" and a few minutes of chat to which I've started 90% of those conversations and I've also been the only one who ever cross over the property line. Well, she actually walked from her front yard into mine to say HI last week and we chatted for a few minutes and it really did make me happy that I was on the receiving end.

A scented candle and snuggling under flannel sheets and blankets to read on a wintry day-especially a rainy and gray wintry day. It may make me an oddball but cool and rainy days are my favorite, especially right after I've gone out and gotten soaked on my way home from somewhere. Nothing to me feels better than having damp hair and cold feet growing warmer under a blanket after I've changed into pajamas and gotten a nice hot cup of Sleepytime tea.

your preaching to the choir, I love comfy socks, and sheets that smeel good, are incrediable

The smell of fresh cut grass.

I love that to, wonder why that smeel is so good to people

When you turn on the radio and you hear an old song (80's for me) that you haven't heard in FOREVER, and yet still remember all the words to.

The sound of the rain when you are going to bed.

The smell of coffee in the morning.

When my kid (tween) gives me a hug just because ... no ulterior motive.

When I am called miss instead of ma'am. :rotfl:

80s songs aren't old. That's when I was a teenager. Heh heh...old. Heh- *feels even more white hairs sprouting on head* OMG, 80s songs are considered oldies now.

Anyway, I also love hearing an old song. When I hear 'Crazy For You' by Madonna, there I am with my big hair and big poufy dress at my prom with my old boyfriend Joe. He's wearing a tux with a cummerbund that matches my dress, and we're dancing under the sparkly disco ball.
