Our friends own a couple of bars in town and one on the lake. The lake location is hosting Vanilla Ice on July 3rd. It's going to be a madhouse.I can kind of feel for bar owners. That's their income and it must be terrifying for them right now. There are no good answers.

Apparently, the lake location qualifies as a restaurant, so they can be filled to 50% capacity. The place holds 5000 people. They are still open ?
They are still holding events such as this ?

They reopened the old Carlos and Charlies under a new name. It's giant.Which restaurant?
I'm concerned about my family in Houston. My in-laws and my siblings are all older and/or high risk for Covid. If you are not in either one of those categories, you should be fine with precautions.
This was bound to happen in Texas. Covid is here to stay, plenty of asymptomatic carriers, but it’s not a death sentence. We just have to be smart and handle things going forward with care.
Dan Patrick is an idiot.

I already addressed that, just forgot to edit my post. Me saying that comes from the overall death rate still being very low. It’s not a death sentence for everyone. Not always true - younger people with no pre-existing conditions are not getting over this as quickly as one would think. It's taking months.
Not a death sentence? Seriously? As a PP stated, those who have died from it may disagree, if they could. But they're dead, so they can't. Babies are dying from COVID.

My son got sick with a "mystery viral infection" back in late December that started a snowball effect of problems for his health. He's still not 100%. If a random virus can take down a strong, healthy college student like him, I can't imagine what Covid has the capability to do.Let's not forget about all the thousands of lucky people who get it and don't die, but are left with lung scarring, kidney damage, or neurologic deficits due to strokes. Studies are showing that even asymptomatic people have findings on lung CT consistent with mild scarring.
Abbott needs to call HEB and Chick-fil-A. They'd have us sorted out in no time.

Not yet. The last time we spoke to his infectious disease doctor in May, he said the tests were unreliable. He did say he would test him down the road when a better test is on the market. That time might be now.Has he been tested for COVID antibodies?
I can't say enough good things about HEB. They are rock stars through all this.Down here, HEB is the BEST where following Covid precautions is concerned. Haven't even checked Chick-Fil-A. Are they as good? If so, I'd definitely consider eating there.
HEB was always our first choice, but now we are amazed by them. They have made this so much less stressful. We do drive thru at CFA every couple of weeks. Sometimes, they have THREE lanes going and are still as fast, efficient, and pleasant as ever. I don’t think the CFAs near us ever opened their dining rooms. Whataburger might have for a very short time, but they are back to drive through only. Much less efficient than CFA though.I can't say enough good things about HEB. I haven't been to Chick-fil-a since this all started and I miss it terribly.
I would kill for a Whataburger with cheese right now.Whataburger might have for a very short time, but they are back to drive through only.
