DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

As we leave Main Street, we go into...
Day 2 - The Hub and the Castle.

What ya got?
Increasing the slope on the lawn section so you can watch the parade from the back.
Make the castle a full walkthrough will classic Disney art.
And everyone who does the work of holding a spot for fireworks viewing gets handed a taser to use on the jerks who always force their way in front at the very last minute.

:thumbsup2

hope that doesn't seem insensitive, and I certainly sympathize with my co-worker and I hope he does OK and comes back to work when he feels he's ready, but my bank account could use the extra cash right now.
Don't think of it as taking advantage of his misfortune. You are stepping up to cover for a co-worker during a difficult time so he doesn't have to worry about it while he is out.

Hey guys...doing a drive by. I missed a few ages, so I hope everyone is doing OK.
Been busy working, almost 14 days of pay in the bank now.
Starting to make up for the 6+ weeks of pay I missed.
Normally my schedule was 14 days on, 7 days off. However one of my co-workers (who would replace me when I took the 7 days off) has had a death in his family and has asked for time off.
Of course I would work extra anyway, but I don't mind having some extra pay now.

Not insensitive at all. His needs matched up with yours. That's a win-win. Glad you're back at it!

Like the others have said Jeff, you are merely filling a need. No insensitivity there mate.

(I sat here for 5 mins writing and deleting a joke 6 times, but I don't want to be cancelled)

It's all been said but I wanted to up my post count. Oh wait, we don't track that anymore. ;)

Afternoon gents! Work is really challenging right now and will leave it at that. Really need a WDW trip. Not to be political for for the love of Mike folks out there lets social distance, face mask and hygiene - it can only help. Sat outside last night with temps over 90 with a mask on to test one out for comfort in advance of DaWorld - was pretty comfortable - Stay Safe me hearties!

As we leave Main Street, we go into...
Day 2 - The Hub and the Castle.

What ya got?
  1. Retractable sets, light poles, benches, everything in the HUB. Though they just redid it implement a bit of 007 hidden / retractable sections for night time shows. Benches / seats movie theater style appear that folks can make reservations for (not a FP but a reservation the morning of), have sight line obstructions retract down
  2. "Really" widen the bridges / paths to the different lands. Also either significantly widen those small paths on the right or left of the castle or remove them totally (wonder how much of this is already under way considering COVID?)

  3. If you can have Cast Members pushing a cart around selling those awful, annoying get off my lawn bubble blowers, have cast members walking around selling cotton candy, popcorn and bottled water in the Hub while folks are camping out for night time shows like at a ballpark. Have the Dapper Dans roaming around singing a bit too and for sure tazzers for the a$$ hats that show up 5 minutes before and sit in front of you on your feet. Seriously, with social distancing, they are gonna have to change some things to get back to fireworks.
  4. As already listed, be able to walk through the castle as this was so enjoyed by the kiddos when young plus another travel path in the park.
  5. Rooftop seating on the Tomorrow Land buildings facing the Hubs (like at Wrigley). Could serve breakfast and lunch up there too (day time parade)and an "economical" desert party or just light snacks for the evening shows including night time parades. This would add capacity and spread folks out more.

Did it!
DD & I ran our first 5K today.
I worked the night shift, got to bed late, woke up early, so... hey, sure, let's run 5K.

And everyone who does the work of holding a spot for fireworks viewing gets handed a taser to use on the jerks who always force their way in front at the very last minute.

Good to hear!

Not insensitive. We just did the same for a woman who's mother was dying (and ultimately did.) We were already short-staffed when she took 2 weeks off which really hurt. But not a single one of us complained or were upset about it.

What a great shot!!

It's been said several different ways, but you're sad he's had a death, but glad you can make more money. Completely normal and not at all insensitive.

Wait! What? We don't? All this banter back and forth with @londontime and it didn't help my count? He gets complimented for being a UK George Carlin and I don't even get a better post count????

This just ain't right.

Get off my lawn!!

Mornin fellas. And ain't it a loverly mornin'?

According to the sign, you may get wet. Jus sayin. Great photo mate.

How about the Disdad Margaret Dumont?
I've got a lovely string of pearls you can borrow ;)
You're looking very Kevin Bacon-esque there, my friend.

Right, so we've strolled down our refurbed Main St with our half decent espresso in hand (yes yes, I know some of you don't like coffee). We've hit the hub, made our reservations for the retractable seating for the fireworks later, and the Chief is just screwing down the last bench on the rooftop of Tomorrowland terrace (Jeez, this guy is on a mission) in front of the new improved, "Dessert Party Deck", a premium offer with Alcohol and with the Plaza Gardens area being one of the new 6 areas for the tiered seating as a more affordable option. Oh look! There's that d!ckhead who pushed in front wriggling on the floor with taser triggered convulsions. Looks like he needs to re-visit one of the stores for a new pair of shorts.
We've strolled through the Castle down the ramped area for improved viewing of shows and fireworks, admiring the Classic art and original cels from the Movies and Stained glass windows depicting Cinderella's Story. We are now looking at the Carousel and take a gander around the Part 1 of Fantasyland.

Armchair Imagineering - Day 3. "Old Fantasyland". Everything between the Turrets and Wall by Friars Nook, around to Rapunzels tower.

Off you go chaps, have a good ol swing. And if anyone takes a shot at IASW, the taser is coming out again. Fair warning.

Morning, boys.
One more hour to go, then it's off home and slumber time.

Well done mate. Welcome to the dark side. Not only do we have cookies, it doesn't matter if we eat them as we'll burn it off.
Yuss!!

Wait... what kind of cookies? There better not be any coconut in them.
And ain't it a loverly mornin'?
Yes. Can't wait to sleep through it.

Update the track on PP, could be smoother. Other than possibly making London even bigger and more cool, don't change anything else.
Squeeze back in Mr. Toad's and Snow White's Scary Adventure.

Morning All from beautiful Fredericton, NB where the sun is shining, the birds are singing and the coffee is going down like a hooker in the back alley.

Heading to visit my parents this weekend, haven't done that since January.

I was disappointed this morning to find out that today marks the last day of nude recreation week and I missed all the events.

Have a good one all.

Thanks for the words of support guys re: my job situation and taking on the extra days from my co-worker.

Good one to start off a Friday.

I suspect there may be a few people who are not disappointed you missed the events.

I'll give this one a shot.
Bring back Mr. Toad instead of Winnie the Pooh
Update Philharmagic. I like it, but it's getting a little dated now and I don't think the 3D is as good as it could be. And while they're at it, find a way to put the orange smell from old Soarin' in there - I miss that.
Put in some trees/shrubs/flowers, anything green. There may be a little of that there now, but there's an awful lot of brick and concrete back there.
Princess Meet & Greet (yeah, I know most of you dads don't really do that anyway) - Get rid of Elena of Avalor, only pre-school age kids know who she is anyway, and if you want to meet Cinderella you have suffer through an awkward meet with Elena.
