Marathon Weekend 2021

For this week’s Sundays are for Disney, what’s the first Disney activity you’d do if COVID and it’s related restrictions disappeared tomorrow?
I would spend my day at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. Of course without COVID-19 restrictions, it would be a full festival with tons of booths, paper passports, lots of great merch, presentations and television show filmings. There would be lots of people just having a good time. Think DATW with a festival atmosphere!

SAFD: I am so bummed about cancelling my annual September MNSSHP (and other parks) trip. That is the trip I am so looking forward to when things normalize.

If not for the air travel I would feel relatively safe down there right now but I can’t manage a trip without air travel at this time. With the election coming up I can see potential for all types of Covid related restrictions/legislation being enacted at all levels of government depending on how poll numbers look. I can also envision nothing at all really happening. Point is, I don’t feel 100% that I’d be able to return from a vacation and get back to work in a timely fashion right now.

Also, it wouldn’t be the same without my niece and nephew. I enjoy Disney solo, but I still like it better with my family.

I think Disney is doing well on procedures and I'm driving distance (Atlanta) and has a bounceback trip booked for about 3 weeks from now but cancelled it just because for me the amount of things not open/not running/etc just didn't justify the cost of travel, hotel, tickets, etc. That is simply my math determination. I also had (and still have) my marathon weekend trip booked and was fine with just punting on Sep and focus on Jan and right now my plan is to go in Jan regardless of if the race happens or not. That Sep trip was a bounceback from the cancelled star wars race.

It is tough math right now deciding if a trip is worth it or not right now.

So I guess part two of SAFD - I'd like for everything to be open again. Still a disney dream at this point but hopefully soon.

First - have worry free marathon weekend! Bring my husband and daughter so she could do a now open kids race or even a newly opened 5k with me!

Then -
Book a three bedroom villa or cabin or vacation home and have my long distance family all come for an extreme bonding/drinking/hugging and being merry event.
