When are you planning to return to DLR?

We were supposed to go in April... obviously since that didn't happen we have to keep looking forward. We are also from Canada and between the border being closed plus my job (as a teacher I'm tied to the school calendar) it is looking like maybe next summer? So so hard to say though. If we have to push it into 2022, then that is what we will do.

I really hope not though.

Well, we have reservations over New Year's, so that's when we're going. We cancelled out early October trip (and our July trip, and our May trip), so that's going to be our only opportunity, likely until 2023 due to other vacation plans. So I really hope it's open then. I have zero fear or concern over the virus. I'd definitely consider going earlier, but couldn't get tickets, probably, and I'm saving the five-day hoppers I have for our New Year's trip.

I did hear on the news today that Disney officials are really pushing Newsom to set some guidelines so that they can get reopening undeway.

Monday after candlelight....using reverse psychology...busiest non-holiday of the year Monday.....candelight will be canceled, everyone assuming that following monday bad....so no one reserving that monday..... Catbird seat!!!!!!
Check the Official DLR Reopening Superthread and the December Check In Thread -- Disney has already cancelled Candlelight Processional for 2020 at DL.

March is our usual first visit each year -- and we're aiming for late March/early April 2021. I hope there will be a DCA Food & Wine Festival next year (especially since they hosted A Taste of EPCOT in Florida), but I'll be happy just to get in the parks even without it.

My fear is that we will see another spike across the country in winter and another wave of shutdowns. I hope not but I'm prepared to move my booking (once I have it).

Hoping for October 2021. This October was to be our first family trip but it was cancelled by the airline months ago.

not sure when we will be able to travel out of the country coming from New Zealand but have booked accommodation for October 2021 at this stage.

Edit to add: Cancelled the hotel reservation yesterday as it's not going to happen this year with international travel.

Honest answer of when we will be going back is I am unsure but not this year or possibly even next.

My aim is to go on the first day that the park is open. Like all of us, though, I’ll be at the mercy of the reservation system. I’d like to go on day one but also on the following Sunday (my regular day). A friend goes to DW often (she lives eight miles from the parks) and told me that Buzz is open there so I suspect it will be open for us as well. I miss that attraction... although I often joke to friends that I derive far more frustration than satisfaction from it - when scores don’t come through or I exceed 2,096,000 and my score resets, for example :-). Even if I don’t get to ride many attractions, it’ll be great to be back. Hopefully we hear something “soon” ;-). Or, even better, “Very, very soon” ;-).

I miss your weekly trip reports as well so hopefully you can get back soon :)

We’ll probably wait until 2022 when a vaccine is widespread. I wonder how awful the crowds will be...heavy due to pent-up demand, but surely that will be hampered by people that have been financially impacted, right?
Either way, we are going to be soooooo excited to be back after such a long hiatus

No real time frame for our family but realistically when there is no longer a 2 week Quarantine period (from Canada as well) would be a major consideration. Wearing a mask as also been a non starter for our family but we shall have to see how long that restriction might be in place, so we may revisit that one. Lastly any reservation restrictions on the amount of days you can get access to the parks (if this occurs), if you can only get a gaurantee of 3 days then it is not feasible for us to travel for that little time in the park.

Aside form the practical aspects Ultimately it will boil down to when our comfort level will allow as to have an enjoyable worry free trip.

I hope that it is soon but am finding that emotionally that I just can't keep my optimism up so I am to the point of saying when it happens it happens.

I honestly don't know. If it's cool weather, wearing a face mask will probably be a nice choice. If it's hot weather, I don't see myself going since my pass is expired. If my AP wasn't expired, I wouldn't mind going for 2-3 hours, but since I regularly do stuff outdoors with a mask on, usually talking the whole time, I know that I would not enjoy Disneyland with a mask on. On one of the humid days, my mask was soaked after only wearing it outside for 3 hours. Wearing a mask to the grocery store is way different than wearing one outside, walking around the whole time and talking to people.

We have a trip planned the first week of November. If it’s open we’ll be there! If not... I can reschedule to anytime through mid-Jan then my busy season at work starts until mid-April so we'd have to push until late spring/early summer. I really hope we can go this winter! I feel like Disney is doing a really good job with safety measures & after all the other disappointments this year has brought we really need something fun!

I have no idea... currently we Europeans can’t even travel to the US if we wanted to...

we still wanna redo our cancelled big trip from 2018 but that’s bundled with a trip to Hawaii... and for that big and expensive family trip I don’t wanna have too strict rules...e.g. no masks outdoors and evening entertainment nd they have to let us in Hawaii... I still haven’t lost all hope for summer 21 or at least december 21...
But if that’s not possible I might squeeze in a solo trip just to DL sometime next year if it is at all possible and move the big family trip another year...

It actually really helps me that we are all in this together and no one can go to DL...
otherwise I would already have gone crazy without any real perspective to go anytime soon...

We always go end of January, as it's DW's unbirthday and our anniversary all rolled into one. We currently have reservations and tickets through GAT for the last week of January 2021, so crossing our fingers...

ETA....posted before I finished answering. LOL

I'm having this dilemma....not sure when I'll feel comfy getting back. I had to wear a mask for longer than I normally do yesterday and it was not enjoyable. The back of my ears were irritated and I was just not comfortable, I dont think I would enjoy going to the park having to wear my mask the whole time. We have signature plus passes and I'm trying to decide if I should get a refund or not and just start over next year when(and if) things get a little more back to normal. I'm not too keen on having to do a reservation since most of my trips are spontaneous spur of the moment ones. *sigh* Its so depressing.

Like many others here, I have had to cancel/move the scheduled trips a few times. Right now I’ve got hotel bookings for Nov, Jan, Feb, and Mar - won’t keep them all, am waiting to hear when it finally will open to decide. I want to go soon after it opens, but unlike @WonkaKid I’ve decided to avoid opening day and week after seeing the crowds for DTD Re-opening.

Am finally heading to DTD next week, as it feels like those Park guidelines will be out soon and I don’t know how busy DTD will be after Park re-opening or how they’ll manage DTD only visitors vs park visitors. Having been there the weekend after Galaxy’s Edge opened, the esplanade was so packed to get in it was a bit scary. I expect Re-opening weekend will be similar with so many wanting to get in early and just be there. So agree with those who’ve said they’ll wait it out a couple of weeks to see how things go and what processes are adjusted to help manage things.
