Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

9036FEFF-176F-4D12-A12B-FA95505304D0.jpegThese are yacht Club room 1075. This is handicapped accessible with roll in shower, water view. Since Pop had to use his wheelchair to get from the bed to the restroom, I changed how I arranged the ECV’s. I put one by the sofa near the door to the patio, and the other I moved all the way to the door, so he could get the wheelchair in the restroom. We used the area by the adjoining room door fir the Walker, and folded the wheelchair in front of the tv when not in use. Hope to share more photos soon. Dee , if any photos are helpful please feel free to use them. Traveling with the wheelchair is new to us, so a little trial and error was used. Sorry 1 pic duplicated and I can’t get it off.9036FEFF-176F-4D12-A12B-FA95505304D0.jpeg03B71976-A8A6-4EB3-97DD-4848F73C0E22.jpeg97CE2647-FAFC-4AAB-A9F5-D5E2E185D6DB.jpeg

Some more photos. I was able to stack 3 carry on sized suitcases in 1 part of the wardrobe, then stood up our large Mickey in the other large area of it. Our small bags went in the top cubbies. The safe had a light that stayed on for a minute or so. My iPad fit in it fine, along with a nook and numerous medicine bottles. The bathroom was spacious (needed to be) and well stocked. Mousekeeping was every other day, but they just restocked supplies and emptied the trash. But oh so friendly! 2C959D53-29E4-4454-9829-B95AA4DC3E0F.jpeg13CA6EBF-820D-4183-9A61-EC80B277919D.jpeg07DC571C-2EE4-45F9-A023-2FE55FD06F7C.jpeg5337C73A-1DD2-4C4F-A1D8-02C5B299D4BF.jpeg8A70922A-B94A-4A97-8E23-7890619109D7.jpeg313F288F-1C1B-4F71-91EB-E26C92D2762C.jpeg

The location for 1075 was awesome- not too far from the lobby and Market. We weren’t far from an exit, but you shouldn’t take ECV’s on stairs. Our view was nice, facing mostly SAB, but also could see the gazebo and the lake. There was even a ramp to get Pop’s wheelchair in and out.5442C517-3196-4D60-A560-823BDA643263.jpegABA10FAB-A554-4DA4-9AEE-D71CF7E59F12.jpeg5A739BA1-EC54-4067-9503-6017034E7E31.jpegB7605865-5475-45B0-9B7E-04B5A7EFB7D4.jpeg3D134D9F-58FE-4671-A77D-56091C16CCB9.jpeg

I have a dinner reservation for Ale & Compass during my trip at the beginning of next month. Would Beaches & Cream be a better choice if I can get a reservation? I've never eaten at either restaurant.
Ale and compass has more for a traditional dinner meal. Beaches and Cream has more of a fun menu and of course tons of ice cream selections. Pretty loud but fun. Ale and compass more quiet but ale and compass in December you will have more of a holiday feel as you look out toward the Yacht Club lobby

good question - when do they typically decorate?
In 2019 on the morning of 11/15 I woke up to Xmas decorations at BC & YC, they did them same night. It was Magical!!! I had woken up early by chance. I just wandered around the resort for a while. It was so great. That was such an amazing experience!!

(After that we transferred to WL, where we woke up to Xmas decorations on the morning of 11/18!)

Thanks for pointing that out! I have never seen that before or thought about it. Hopefully a feature in all handicap-accessible rooms.

Thanks for all of the helpful info and descriptions!!!

:thanks:

Morning, less than a week til our arrival. Finally! Quick question for those of you that have been on-property since they reopened..

My wife and I typically get up and get a run in before we start our day, usually early (7am) before most folks are out/about. Can anyone confirm if they are requiring masks be worn (or what have people seen) on runners since the reopening - we typically make our way down to HS, back and then around the Lake a few times. Here at home we stick to non-populated areas without masks - I saw on some other threads it's a crap-shoot depending on who you ask but thought I'd check on any recent YC/BC experiences...

Just curious, what, if any guidance folks have seen when it comes to folks running around property during the early hours...

To be honest, we have seen both. Mostly maskless early in the morning (think around 6am). The runners we’ve seen when walking to HS have been largely masked by that point. YMMV

I will start by saying a big YMMV on this one - and it seems like with many topics even this has become a little divisive and I sort of hesitate to even answer, to be honest. I’ve run at BLT/CR, Poly, GF, and YC in trips since reopening, most in the 6-7am hour, some 7am-8am. At BLT over the summer, a recreation manager I asked said masks are not required while running - just to/from said activity. Others have reported asking CMs and getting an opposite response.

I would say most other runners I have seen have not been wearing masks. It has been a pretty large majority, like 85/15 to 95/5, roughly speaking. My last two trips I’ve seen more with gaiters and people pulling them up for a bit as you pass.

I dabbled with masks and gaiters at BLT over the summer since the trail there shares an employee walkway which always seemed pretty busy over shift-change in the AMs, but other than that I’ve personally run mostly sans mask.

My runs around Crescent Lake have pretty much been just like normal times - very, very few people out, mostly other mask-less runners, lots of good mornings and friendly waves as we all criss-cross paths round and round. Remember, these have mostly been 6am-7am’ish so my experiences may not apply to what one may find later morning - or on any given day.

Personally, I’m an early runner to begin with but I’m now making it a point to get out as early as possible just to have less people around, well before people are up/moving around for the parks or breakfast.

Just my take. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Do people use the pools in December? Are the pools heated (not just the hots tubs)?
We have not been in December before so not sure if we should pack the suits or not. :fish:
thanks in advance!

Yes, they are heated.

Weather can be all over the place, but we’ve been in the pools in Dec quite a bit.

It can be pool one day and parkas the next though, so you just never know.

I will often just let the kids have at it and sit back and enjoy a beverage from HH.

We ended up going to the Beaches & Cream window for some milkshakes and then headed to swim. About 5 minutes after getting into the water, they closed the pool. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Luckily that didn’t last long and lights came back on everywhere. This was around 7:30. So, the whole thing really only lasted ~30 minutes. I did grab some quick photos of the dark side of the resort. The lobby lights stayed on, as did a few of the outdoor white lights83A19445-D4E7-4BA5-84D6-AA91C91039DE.pngCA01DFF1-0FA1-4C99-BC73-8FD429B8E825.png

I tried to attach the full photos, but kept getting errors that they were too large and I have no idea how to resize them on the phone, so I just have the screenshots
