Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hi stranger

I’m happy to see you’re going in April. Hope you have a wonderful time!

Well, hello! I know, I haven't "seen" you in a bit! I haven't been spending as much time on the boards. I see you're going in July, that's awesome! We'll be at the BCV in August too! :D

Remember pre Covid we had our March trips lined up perfectly and then ....
We kept rescheduling and finally went over Thanksgiving. Looking forward to July and celebrating youngest DD graduation that she didn’t have and finishing her first year as a high school science and ASL teacher 😊
Hopefully we can match our days up again on a future trip.

Sadly, yes :sad1:

Congratulations! How exciting! My DD is graduating HS this year and wince this will be her last April vacation, we decided to make a go of it. I absolutely love April down there

Hopefully we can match our days up again on a future trip.

Hopefully! Like I said, we'll be there in August at BCV, then October at The Poly and December at BLT :-)

Just booked our split stay trip for our son's early 16th birthday celebration in July 2022. (His sister celebrated with a Disney trip July 2020 and swam with dolphins at Discovery Cove. Our son said he was taking a 16th birthday trip too.) I was hoping for Hawaii or Ireland. Those were on his original list. Then two and half weeks ago we made a quick one day trip to Hollywood Studios on our way to our nephew's wedding in Sarasota and he changed his mind to Disney. My husband is all about going to Disney and he said book it before our son changes his mind. Everyone is looking forward to staying at the Yacht Club and having our pool day at Stormalong Bay! (It was part of our original plan for our last trip.)

I agree going during her Spring Break was amazing. Thankfully she still has her summers, Thanksgiving, Christmas breaks and Mardi Gras week lol.
Ok I’m officially jealous with all those trips you have planned 😃

Here now and having a great time! I guess 4x a charm.. I was determined to make it here after this year. Heading to MK this morning. Still not sure which the best route is..

Bus (IMO). If you’re trying for rope drop, be at the bus stop around 6:30. First buses should be around 7. Could see swings in the first bus time, but better to be early than late if you’re really trying to be among the first ones there. If that doesn’t matter, enjoy a cup of coffee on your balcony and head to the bus stop whenever. ☕

Glad you’re having a good trip!

Thank you! I’m up but of course everyone else being lazy. We actually have breakfast resy at the wave for 7:30 do you think Uber to contemporary a better option??

Better is subjective, but Uber takes some of the control back over waiting for a Disney bus and having to walk (or run) from the bus stop to CR.

I’ve read Uber availability has been less these days compared to pre Covid, but worth a shot.

Y’all better get up and going! :-)

First stay at yc in June. Can someone tell me best place for counter service breakfast before heading to the parks? Or is it better to grab n go at the parks once i'm there?

Both the Market at Ale & Compass [YC] and the Beach Club Marketplace have a variety of "counter service" type breakfast offerings beginning at 7:00 AM. If you're up for a little walk you can also check out the Boardwalk Bakery. It will take you about 5 -10 minutes from the YC lobby.

Breakfast at the resort is better than waiting until you are in the parks. The offerings in the parks are limited and lines are long. It is better to get on as many rides as you can before the crowds build. :)

You can do mobile ordering at both the YC Marketplace, the Beach Club Marketplace and at Ale and Compass. We prefer the Beach Club because they serve the Bounty Platter. :)

My DD collects pressed pennies. Does anyone know, offhand, whether the pressed penny machines at YC/BC take a credit card or currency? I've read multiple threads where I'm getting conflicting information that some machines are credit card and some are still currency. Just curious about the YC/BC.

There are three pressed penny machines near the entrance of SAB. They take 2 quarters and a penny. They were actually the only ones we came across that took coins. Just got back home this morning. So happy to answer any questions I can.

So I’m really disappointed. I waited on hold for almost two hours, exactly 60 days before our check in at the Beach Club, to be told that they have no available cabanas for rental during our entire stay. I had a cabana secured last year along with everything else that we wanted, so I’m wondering if this is the sign that I should just cancel the trip. 😭 I also did our dining this morning, and that was pretty rough as well. Thoughts? Do you think we will get to swim without a cabana reservation? I don’t want to wait in a two-hour line to enter our resort pool.

Have there been lines for the pool?

That’s just something that I read from people who reported on various threads of Disboards, so I don’t know for sure. I just know that I don’t want to wait in a line to enter my resort’s pool. Since we are going Memorial Day week, I’m sure that’s why it’s so busy and booked up.

We stayed at BCV during our spring break when park passes were sold out for all parks and first reports had come out regarding lines for pools. We went to the pool twice and did have to wait to enter SAB in the early afternoon, but the wait was quite short—between 5-10 mins. There is obviously still time, but it seems to me that MDW so far doesn’t look quite as crowded as the week of March 13-20 was. You can also keep checking for cancellations on the cabanas. I hope you have a good time! We will be there then too but across the lake at Boardwalk this time.

I would not cancel. It is WDW in the summer. It will be busy.

And, with the new rules and restrictions (whether you think they are good, bad or indifferent) we all just have to roll with it. My thoughts are just to go with a mindset that you won't always get what you want but you will get what you need.
