This is reduced capacity?

At California Adventure right now and the line for Radiator Springs wraps to Hollywood Blvd. CM said 300 minute wait, the app says 120 minutes. Incredicoaster is 90 minutes. This is reduced capacity?
Maybe everyone in the park is there for those 2 rides lol. What are the other waits like?

Radiator Springs Racers, Luigis, and Mater were all closed this morning when the parks opened. It looks like Luigi is still closed and the other two opened recently. When that many rides are unexpectedly shut down, it greatly changes the crowd pattern for the entire park. And when a popular ride like Racers reopens, people flood the line and it becomes incredibly long. In addition, a 120-180 minute wait for Racers would stretch out of the designated queue without social distancing. Now, with social distancing, a 300 minute wait would probably need to snake all the way through the park. I am surprised they are even allowing people in line at this point.

What’s happened is a mix of social distancing for the queues and the load patterns. On racers it’s one party to a vehicle so if you have parties of 1 or 2 or 3 the line is going to move slower.

It’s a fixed percentage. Up to 35%. But it doesn’t help when they have really strict loading restrictions.
These are way higher wait times than they’ve had the last couple of weeks, though. I know a few things are down (like ROTR), but it sure looks like there are more people there today then there have been.

Maybe they were under 35% and they actually bumped it all the way up now? It’s possible that they weren’t at their limit and decided to max out as much as they can for the “start of summer.” I’m not sure how else to explain the increase...

That's insane!!!! It definitely wasn't like that when we were there on Thursday and Friday. I can't even imagine what that would look like on a regular day, but with social distancing that line has to be super long.

RSR, Mater, and Luigis were all closed for close than two hours at the beginning of the day. I really think that had a huge effect on the DCA, especially since DL doesn’t seem to have significantly longer lines than it has had all week.

I'm just saying I don't see why a holiday would make any difference.

That's what I have to keep remembering. If they're capping the attendance it shouldn't matter if it's a Sunday, Thursday, holiday or not. Selfishly, I hope they keep the reservations in place because we're hoping to go close to Thanksgiving and would love it to not be crowded like previous years.

It “shouldn’t” but from what I’ve seen/heard the weekends have been far busier than midweek. It’s interesting because I’ve booked all Tuesdays and Tuesdays and Wednesdays are always some of the first days to book up. I wonder if it’s because capacity is capped at a lower number these days? Maybe with fewer staff?

This makes sense to me. They are busy bring back staff and retraining and training staff. They don't have a full team so they may have limitted certain work days capacity to go with limitted staff until they can get more staff ready to go!!!

That had to do with the tiers for the one day tickets.

The wait times on the app seem to have returned to relatively “normal” wait times, at least from what we’ve been seeing for the past two weeks. I am actually pretty surprised that wait times aren’t higher in DL with Rise shut-down. Like I said before, I think this morning was just a result of a lot of rides being unexpectedly closed when the park opened.
