It's unvaccinated passengers on cruises of 5+ nights:Is EVERYONE being tested on the 7-night cruises or just unvaccinated kids?
I believe deck 2 is only oceanview or interior staterooms.Where is the quarantine area? What deck? I hope they have verandas.
I know. I would not like that.I believe deck 2 is only oceanview or interior staterooms.
Thank you - very helpful. It's unvaccinated passengers on cruises of 5+ nights:
Debarkation Day COVID-19 Testing
All unvaccinated Guests on 5-night and longer sailings are required to take a COVID-19 PCR test (paid for by Disney Cruise Line) on the ship the day before debarking.
Thanks for this info! My DS10 isn’t a huge fan of the club, but was considering it for our upcoming sailing. We’ll take it off the list!!Like everyone else - our daughter tested early on Friday morning in our room. We were negative and spent the day on Castaway Cay. My app didn’t work on the island because of no wi-fi service. When we got back about 4:45pm we had a message waiting for us that our daughter needed to be tested again. A nurse in a hazmat suit came to our room and administered a PCR test. It took about one hour and we were negative. Our daughter was not allowed to leave the room during this time and we had a security guard outside our door. Disney then called us and said even though our test was negative we needed to go to the quarantine area. We had about 1/2 hour to pack. At that point we had four cast members in hazmat suits block off part of the hallway and escort us to the second floor quarantine area via the crew elevator. We were not allowed to leave until we got off the ship. Disney was amazing and made sure we got room service for food etc. This was because our child was in the same group at kids club during the week with the one positive child.Other families in that group were quarantined also. It was an adventure for sure! Again, Disney was fantastic.

I had the same questions. Also if I or my wife (fully vaccinated) have the sniffles do we get tested and if negative still get put in the brig I mean quarantine?Nobody would.
So if a person in x party tests *negative*, all get to be moved to deck 2?. With a negative?
What if their SR is a verandah or concierge? Do they get refunded for being in a lesser category for whatever amount of time DCL deems necessary? what a joke.
I don't think the whole party was tested, though PP does use "we" and "our" with regards to test results but only mentions the child getting tested (which goes with DCL's debarkation policy). The PP's daughter tested negative *BUT* the daughter was identified as a close contact to another child who tested positive. It's the close contact bit that caused them to be quarantined -- and probably the whole party since they can't quarantine just the child. The next morning was debarkation, so it was probably 12-15 hours of quarantine. So if a person in x party tests *negative*, all get to be moved to deck 2?. With a negative?

I understand the safety concern for why they do it, but I am also curious about the guest recovery aspect. If I was exposed to covid on my cruise on day 2 (for example) and had to spend the rest of the trip in quarantine, I would absolutely want a credit perhaps to be used on a future cruise. It wouldn’t even be the difference in stateroom for me, but the fact I couldn’t do any of the activities that are also wrapped into the cost of the cruise.Yeah that's the way I interpreted it. But still, imagine going from concierge to deck 2 if your kid was in the club when another kid tested positive.. What if it happens at the beginning of the cruise or on the 2nd night?.. I get it if someone in my party tests *positive* but a negative? This is insane imo.
If I could figure out how to post pictures on this I would show you. Something out of ET or Ghost Busters!
Only the unvaccinated kids are tested twice (and the one three days prior)Oh wow - that seriously stinks. Is EVERYONE being tested on the 7-night cruises or just unvaccinated kids? We are sailing in December and I'm not up on the procedures. We sailed twice in September, but only 4-night sailings.
Only our 9 year old daughter was tested. My husband and I were not. They said that our daughter had to go to quarantine along with one parent. We decided to go to quarantine as a family. We went from a veranda to ocean view room on deck 2. It was only one night so I’m not going to ask for anything special from Disney. We had an AMAZING cruise- just a sad last night. I did miss not getting one more ice cream and Aqua Duck ride like we had planned. But we did get an epic story and photos! I wish I could figure out how to post photos!!! I just want to say it is a breath of fresh air to read your post and see how you responded to the situation. You continued to focus on the amazing cruise you had and put a positive spin on the last night. I applaud you for your positive outlook, we need more of this!
