***** February 2022 Thread *****

Woo hoo! I'm not going solo anymore! A very good friend decided to come with me and "support" me in my first race! I'm psyched. So when I booked the room, I had my husband on the reservation. Now I'm trying to take him off and add her instead (she's in my friends and family list), but I can't figure it out. Any ideas? Thanks!

I figured this out while waiting for four hours on hold once. I literally finished as they got to me.

1) Change the reservation to where there is only one person. It will then ask who should be removed. Complete that change.

2) Change the reservation again but to add a person. Add her and complete the change.

3) Make sure you then go back and look at the reservation in your plans. It will likely want you to confirm the guests. Until you do that your reservation is in some weird limbo.

Thanks for this. I had stopped short of this one step-it was on my mind though! I decided to call and used the call me back option. They called back at the worst possible time but I powered through getting my kid all bundled for soccer and dropped her off all while working with the CM to have it fixed. Super annoying but it’s all set at least!

since im a february noob (we usually go in late august) had 2 main questions:

based on tons of disney sites, the week we are going (5-9) is a slower time but tp has the crowd numbers for those days at like 6s or 7s. what do you guys think about crowds this time of the month?

being an august traveler, weather is going to be a bit different in february lol. I will obviously check the weather before packing but it seems there can be a pretty big dip in the temperature at night. any tips for dressing for 80 in the morning and 60 at night?

We went to Universal first week of Feb 2020. Layers seemed essential. There we really appreciated our HP robes because we could bundle up in them or let them fly open. But, for Disney I just plan on layering and bringing a backpack for the extra clothes. We didn't need it, but I read that occasionally even the cold winter clothing is needed.

We have been to WDW during this time of the year and most often it will be in the low 70's during the day and maybe low 60's at night. The month of February is normally the least rainy month of the year. We have had beautiful blue skies without a drop of rain on past Jan-early Feb trips. But the weather in Florida is very unpredictable, so prepare for anything. The one time you really need to dress warmly is when the nighttime temps are going to be in the 60's or lower when you are in the parks at night. The morning you can often endure until the sun warms things up. You just have to check the weather every day before heading out the door :)

Crowds are going to be heavier than you hoped they would be. There are always rides that are closed for refurbishment and shorter park hours this time of the month, so there will be less places for people to go and less time for them to do it. MK closes at 4pm on Feb 8th, which will make MK busy on Feb 7th and 9th. We will be there the same week as you are looking forward to the cooler February weather. :)

I am a first time February goer too this year. I think the crowd calendars are taking in to account all the people who are just now able to travel (some international borders opened up now) and all those who have been waiting to travel until their kids could be vaccinated. I could be wrong though. Add in the events like the dance competitions happening during that time and the crowd calendars are predicting higher crowds.

On a side note, I actually looked at our dates and right now the parks we are going to say 5,3,5,6 and I'm not too worried about those numbers. the last couple trip I went on was busier than that and we were able to do everything we wanted (even on our trip in March without fast passes). We aren't doing hoppers this trip either and I'm trying to decide if I want to purchase Genie+ for MK and HS days or not. I read both good and bad about it. I'm hoping we won't need it but if we do it would only be for those two parks. With Splash Mountain closed while we go that's one less ride on our to do list. Hubby doesn't like bigger roller coasters so we will skip Space Mountain (and I'm okay with that because it's my least favorite roller coaster). I doubt we will do Astro Orbiter either so that's another line that we won't have to stand and wait in. The rest we are willing to wait on lines for since it gives us time to chit chat with people around us.

As for the clothing issue, I am cold natured and hubby is very hot natured. I will most likely have a pair of gloves in my bag for the cool evenings because my fingers get cold really easy (and can turn blue or white because of health issues) and hubby may have shorts on the entire time and still be sweating. If its the normal range of low to mid 70's during the day I should be pretty comfy but once it gets dark I may freeze LOL so I will most definitely have my jacket or sweatshirt in my bag as well just in case. I prefer going bagless but because I have no idea what to expect in the unpredictable month of february I will have to have a bag to be prepared so I am not spending a ton of money on layers there.

I always wear gloves if it gets chilly out because my hands freeze, too. :) I'll wear jeans at night because it is no fun to freeze at night. ;)

It is really easy to carry a bag now that Disney has the new scanners at bag check. :) You can carry almost everything through without getting stopped.

Guess I should add myself to this list. We will be arriving 1/28 - 2/6!
Split staying between Copper Creek, Saratoga Springs, and French Quarter! So excited for festival of the arts.

Yeah I noticed in March it was much easier. I carried a bag the first park day then quit after that. I just prefer not to have to carry anything at all. I even use a lanyard with a little "wallet" (more like a change purse/card holder) in my every day life. Plus I have a phone case that holds my cards too. I did buy a fanny pack to take so I can alternate between my backpack and my fanny pack if need be throughout this trip. I can probably talk hubby into carrying a back pack on some of the days too. That way we can alternate on carrying it.

Welcome to the February thread. You will be there the same time I am (we are arriving the 1st and leaving the 6th) and will be at POFQ as well!

Sounds like a wonderful trip! I will be there those days too — hoping for good weather!

I've been looking to do some minor tweaking of our ADRs (though it is fine how it is already), but availability seems extremely limited. I feel very fortunate to have gotten all we did.

I was able to move our Garden Grill to arrival day like we wanted. We are pretty set now. Stalking works (and gives me something to do while we wait). :)
