Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

@lfcfan & @disneyfan150 I completely agree with mickey916 This has been a problem for a lot Disney guests for months (well years) but the problems really seemed to get worse since July 21 and its showing absolutely no signs that Disney is resolving the problems. I have read so many posts about this problem on this forum that I've lost count. It's not just an Swan/Dolphin issue at all.

Trying to call could cost you 2-3 hours on hold. Some people try logging out, clearing history & cache, try a different browser or Private/Incognito Mode. The issue seems to happen not only on the web but the App too. I wish I had better advice, but those above are all in the mix if things to try while you say some less then magical words about Disney IT.

I don't believe there's a specific room type that guarantees a theme park view. Our last stay at the Swan we had a standard room and still had a view of DHS (granted, we also had a view of the Swan parking lot). If you book a "no view" room, there's no chance of a theme park view, but other than that, I think it's just luck of the draw. It never hurts to ask when you check in, though.

Looking at the Dolphin you can book an Epcot View room. And when you click on room description it says Fireworks view.

Is it an EITHER the continental breakfast OR credit at fuel...or do you get both? We're so used to Marriott's concierge lounges that have breakfast and dinner offerings

you get a voucher for each day you’re there and then use it towards whatever option you decide

Fwiw. We checked in last Sunday and are checking out tomorrow. The hotel the last 2 days has gotten more crowded. Guessing spring break is officially on.

We learned that locals have Spring Break coming up this week. Some schools had a teacher in-service day Friday, so many Floridian's poured into the parks Friday because the week coming up is excluded from the AP pass.

I ran into it making my ADRs for April. I found sometimes refreshing worked, sometimes only the app worked and sometimes, the other workaround of going into the "make reservations" page worked. Very frustrating but I ended up getting everything I was looking for at 60+10, staying at the Pop.

Do they have the same procedure for loading scooters on the S/D busses that they have on the Disney busses? I read one report of the driver not securing a scooter correctly - nothing terrible happened, but that would be scary.

I would guess not. We watched a bus driver struggle to figure out how to manage strollers, so I would guess that the Mears drivers (on average) are relatively new and don't receive the standard Disney training.

Just finished our five day stay at the Swan Reserve. Had a lovely time - booked a standard two queen room with Marriott points so we could do the stay four nights get fifth free deal. Cashed in 5 Suite Night Awards and they were confirmed about a week before our trip. Got upgraded to a signature pool view suite which was perfect for our two little ones.

for MK we took the bus from Boardwalk, did the boat for Epcot, walked to HS and took the boat back, and did the hotel shuttle for AK and did a Lyft home.

Since I was Titanium we got vouchers every morning for breakfast and preordered the continental breakfast room service before heading to the parks which saved a bunch of time. Housekeeping was daily.

The location cannot be beat and the transportation for Epcot right to IG is clutch. Was able to get there early to ride Remy and maybe waited 20 minutes.

This was our first time staying at Swolphin and we’ll be staying here for future Disney visits based on location and convenience alone.

What is their (Disney's) training or procedures though? This has been a bit but we were at AKL few years back and they had whoever was on the scooters drive them up the ramp. This one guy was having difficulty and maybe 5 minutes into the ordeal he got it hung up on the ramp. Stood up, fell over/off and they had to call paramedics.

That's terrible!! Hope the person was OK....

Last April, had a Disney bus driver who would not touch the scooter to help get in into place....only to strap it down. I understand that they are not "required" to help, but ever since then, for the remainder of that trip, as well as two other 8 day trips since then, if I had any trouble at all, every driver was more than helpful and would take over the "driving" from in front of the scooter.

I'm fairly good at the driving part now, but I would be very nervous if they didn't secure it once it's in place.

There is a door, but I'm not sure there's a way to get in. We went a few weeks ago and decided to check out the Dolphin looking for good room locations and while we could see a door there, we didn't see a key card or even a door handle. When we went inside, I think it was an emergency door for a fire exit. I didn't spend a ton of time looking, but it didn't seem that it was a door in use really. Has anyone here stayed and used this door? It would be great for access, but I couldn't find anything.

Good to know. I've never seen a specific them park view offered before; although that might be because we usually book the Swan.

Great! Did you spend any time at the pool? We are going in May and will definitely want some pool time. Probably will head to quiet pools at swan or dolphin, but wondered what your experience was?

We did not - but the weather was too erratic with rain and cold given it was March. Wish we could’ve broken up the trip with a day of rest in between four consecutive park days! Would’ve been nice just to lounge at the pool and check out the boardwalk, play mini golf, etc

I specifically looked for this door Friday night. My room was in the East wing on the first floor and it would have been very convenient to be able to enter and exit there. The only door I saw from the inside in that location was an emergency exit. I didn’t try it because it looked as if an alarm would sound if it was opened.

BTW at first I was disappointed to get a 1st floor room, but I ended up loving this one because it had its own little patio with a very pretty resort/water view. I liked that the patio was unobstructed by too much railing or landscaping. Not exactly private because it was visible to people walking by on the squiggly waterside walkway, but still very relaxing to sit out there and enjoy the evening.

I see it now for different dates than ours. That room type must be sold out for our dates which is surprising as I booked the day they became available. It also appears you can’t get a balcony and Epcot view. Thanks!

Ok, good to know. That's what I thought as well and I don't believe there's a way to get in the door from the outside. It'd be super convenient for thos rooms if there was, but glad to know for sure.

Hello! Staying at SRMay 12-17.Tried to book dining today, 60 days out. Only letting me book for the 12th, not length of stay. Is this normal for SR? Am I missing something? Thanks.
I had this exact thing happen. Posted on restaurant board. My stay is linked properly. There is a problem with the Marriott reservations Swan/Dolphin/reserve not dealing with dining properly. It shows our plus 10 dates in black, but no ability to book. Solution is you have to call in your reservations - and have to go through guest services rather than dining. Not IT problem. If Cm says that - call and get someone else. My person knew exactly the problem. Was able to book my reservations. But I can’t modify them or book new ones for my dates (May 9-18) without calling them in — Until 60 day window opens for each specific date. I’ll try to link the thread. I don’t know how long this has been a problem for Marriott but it was extremely frustrating. I got up early to book at 6am and had to wait til 7am to try the phone lines. By then, availability was already extremely limited.
