Is it though? My last rD event was in 2016 and reading everybody's posts re: registration (and wanting to get into Dopey) is raising my HR more than my race 2 weeks ago...Everyone realizes that - no matter how easy or hard registration is on Tuesday - it's the easiest part of the whole weekend, right?
I know not the point of your post, but I'm doing a 4 race challenge next weekend! I'm doing the half as my longest race, but there is an option to do a full. Plus it's over less than 2.5 days instead of 4, with two races within 2 hours of each other.. Flying Pig!FOMO - SHMOMO - C'mon Guys!! Really?? There is a reason why Marathon Weekend is "Dopey-centric". It is because doing Dopey is freakin' amazing!!! Where else in the world can you complete a four race marathon challenge in one weekend? Oh and don't forget the fun running routes on Walt Disney World property and through the incredible theme parks. Not enough? How about entertainment, character stops and enough photopass photographers to fill a cruise ship. Still not enough? how about 25K of your fellow runners of all abilities, many of whom are dressed in really cool and creative running costumes? "But Huskies, I will need to get up 4 mornings in a row, and it is so expensive and I might not be trained enough...etc. etc." OMG. Stop with the excuses!! Go for the whole weekend and do all four races and have a blast. I'll see you all there
ETA: This was just a fun sarcastic bit and not directed at anyone. But yes, Dopey is tons of fun and worth doing!!

The safe answer here is is 10:00am Disney World/Orlando time.when they say 10:00 AM EST on the runDisney site, do they mean EDT, which we're currently on, or do they actually mean EST? I'm probably being needlessly anxious about this but it would break my heart if I had to postpone another year because of not getting a spot in the race.
Welcome back! I believe they have done this before. They need to drop that middle letter to avoid confusion! I believe @Herding_Cats has it correct, that it is current time (daylight) in Orlando.Just gonna...sliiiiide in here after disappearing from the DisBoard for I don't even remember how long....
Four years since I started aiming for my first marathon, I'm hoping this will finally be the year. That means registering next week! I'm already having FOMO about Dopey but realistically it's going to be a push "just" to get marathon-ready, and it's good to leave bigger goals I can aspire to later on. Dug back a few pages and didn't see anyone mention it, though I suspect it's already been asked and answered (sorry!): when they say 10:00 AM EST on the runDisney site, do they mean EDT, which we're currently on, or do they actually mean EST? I'm probably being needlessly anxious about this but it would break my heart if I had to postpone another year because of not getting a spot in the race. And do we think the marathon will sell out right away with the big anniversary, or only Dopey and the 5K like usual?
Seems reasonable, which would make things simple for me since I'm in the same time zone. I just had this moment of "but EST is an hour earlier than EDT" because of the whole spring-forward thing, and started wondering if I needed to be online at 9:00. But it makes more sense for it to be 10:00 when it's 10:00 in Orlando, and Orlando is on EDT right now same as us up here in New York State. The safe answer here is is 10:00am Disney World/Orlando time.
Thank you! And yeah, that sounds like it should be right. I'm just overcomplicating things from anxiety tbh.Welcome back! I believe they have done this before. Yep, and also the runDisney blog says "10 AM ET", so I think it's safe to say 10:00 AM EDT is correct. (And if they somehow really did mean 10 EST, it would actually be an hour later at 11 AM EDT, so you wouldn't have missed it. )Just gonna...sliiiiide in here after disappearing from the DisBoard for I don't even remember how long....

Yes, I would think 10K then Marathon would be the logical way to do it—a lot more people can do a 10K than a marathon, so it stands to reason that it would fill up first.Okay, I’ve settled on 10K and marathon. Both anniversaries, right? Likely to go quickly? How do I do this?! 10 first, then full? I do technically have both phone and laptop, but my phone has historically been slower to work through the queue than the laptop.
