Just returned Disney Fantasy April 16, 2022

Just returned from week long cruise from Port Canaveral to St Maarteen, San Juan and then Castaway Cay.. Some brief notes

1. Families were still separated at each meal. No combined seating yet
2. Ship was at 60% Capacity (Asked around)
3. All staff wore masks, no passengers were required to do so
4. Neither port required Masks. Port Canaveral required masks embarking and disembarking
5. The tall glass 21 oz beer mug was no where to be seen I had my "Beer" token they said supply issues made glass mugs unavailable.
6. Disembarking at all ports including castaway cay was a cattle call.. No need to schedule groups
7. No restrictions on sitting at Disney Theatre. Packed in shoulder to shoulder

8. No restrictions for other activities
9 San Juan was great, only one ship was docked.. Free rein!
10. We dropped $250 deposit for next cruise, can do through app but the confirmation goes to your email address on file, if you are at see you can't get it!! Went to guest services and they handled it.
11. Used the chat feature from the Navigator App to cancel an excursion, great feature!
12. Rainforest room was available, you had to pay ~130 per person to use the rainforest room for the whole week at any time with a wrist bracelet..

Overall great cruise.. Very quiet.. I am thinking the days of the beer mug have gone to the way side and will be no more.. I found it ironic they had special glass mugs for "drink of the day" as a souvenir at extra fee..

Hope this is helpful!
Let me know if you have any questions!!

These are concerning to me. I am mostly okay to the return to normalcy. No masks, self-serve buffets, and the like. But, I do think it is still prudent to exercise somewhat reasonable caution.

To me, a packed Walt Disney Theatre is exercising absolutely zero reasonable caution.

Uggggh.

Did I read somewhere that you can see the shows on the TV in your room? If so, I may peek at the crowd and head back to the room if uncomfortable!

You can watch the shows in your room but they are not a direct live video from the theater. I've done that when I wanted a good view and not to be around so many people! (And this was pre covid lol)

thanks for sharing! I was reading a review on another platform that said the tables in the main dining rooms were super close together due to higher capacity and not mixing parties. Did it feel that way to you?

We were on the same Fantasy Cruise from April 9 -16. We tried to connect with a live human at the future cruise desk 3 different times, to no avail. Maybe we just hit it at the wrong times, but could not do the placeholder booking except through the app. Now, when I check on the app, it says, "Placeholder Pending". Guest services told us that it would take 2 business days to receive confirmation through the email on file. ....I hope!

We were on the Magic that disembarked April 16th and are still waiting for our placeholder confirmation email. I'm pretty nervous of a glitch. Where in the app are you able to see "placeholder pending"? When I log in, all I see is "Need to Add a Reservation"

The spacing felt the same to me, but we have always had our own family at dinner.

I did get an email late yesterday saying that my placeholder was accepted.. It says that they hold the placeholder until the 27th of April .. If you don't hear anything by COB today or tomorrow maybe reach out

When we sailed on the Magic in December after the welcome show in the atrium, that was staggered, they guided us into a room where they had the CMS help us set up our phones. I never recalled this process on my other Sailings so I don’t know if this was part of the whole Covid thing. Did they still have the phone thing when you get on board they help you set your phone up? It really helped me with my mother. We are sailing next week and I hope they still have this

Yeah, before covid there was no little show in the atrium when you boarded. You would go watch the Sail Away on the pool deck once it was time to leave the port. Apparently the Sail Away show is returning soon as people have seen crews practicing the sail away show.
