How much do you usually spend on souvenirs?

DVC since 2010, so our buying junk days are over. We usually buy a yearly ornament. DW is really into Dooney & Bourke bags, but now has enough. I like to buy nice Disney collared shirts. I have a closet full of them, No more need for cheap t-shirts or ball caps. All the other stuff is unnecessary as we are retired and just don't need it. We're the kind of people Disney doesn't like - non-spenders.

We aren't really souvenir people. We get a Christmas ornament if it's someplace new we've travelled that year. And if we visit a brewery or a cool restaurant DH might get a shirt but that's about it. We are in the "collect memories, not things" stage of life. We don't need a mug or magnet for sure! I won't even get into my thoughts on stuffed animals LOL. It's a good thing we don't have kids because they would be very deprived in some ways. Very rich in others though!

Well we’re in the minority here. On a week long trip at least $500 for 2 adults, more if I buy a Dooney. Regulars souvenirs about 10 pins, an ornament, a Pandora charm and a shirt for each of us. Then random stuff like last trip DH got a mandalorian helmet. Or various Star Wars things. A puzzle. I don’t know we just buy lots of random stuff.

Each of my kids get a $200 GC and when it’s gone it’s gone. My DH never buys anything and I buy whatever I feel like, usually one “big” thing like a new purse or pandora jewelry or something and maybe a tee shirt or spirit jersey.

I usually get a magnet. Maybe a shirt or something else too, but not usually. The kids spend $20 to 50 each depending on what they want. DH doesn't like to spend a lot of time shopping, so we do a little bit and then focus on rides/parades/whatever else.

It depends, lol. I have the Disney Visa so I am saving up my rewards to buy souviners. With this trip being a bit last minute, I won't have much saved but it is fine, this trip is just my younger son and I. I would like to get something for the 50th and he wants to build a lightsaber (which he wants to buy himself and is almost done saving the money to do it so I won't say no). The other thing my son wants to do on this trip is go to Hoop Dee Doo Review. So I should be set to have rewards pay for that plus more.

BUT I do "budget" $15-$20/day/person for incidentials like a bottled water, tips or bandaids. That way I am not putting a smaller purchase on my credit card. And I am very disciplined about it too. Like literally each day add that money to my park bag and leave mousekeepping their tip before we leave for the parks. I include this for travel days as well since we will go into the airport shop and get a bottled water or soda and bag of chips to take on the plane. Then at the end of the trip on our way home from the airport (since we tend to land late-dinner/early evening hours) I will call for a pizza to pick up on our way home and use the leftover cash to pay for it. I generally don't spend all of our incidential money but I like having it just the same.

We have done that with our kids when they were younger, I worked out so great! But I do miss those days, we don't really do that anymore. The boys are older so they aren't into buying as much "stuff" anymore.

Over the years I've figured out that once I am home, I never wear those souvenir shirts and hats, so I no longer buy them. Nor do I want to dust anything. So I buy very little.

I'll press a couple of pennies, and get some consumables.

I'm just curious what everyone averages. We're really not souvenir people when it comes to WDW, but I feel like the outlier. On other trips I might buy something unique from the place I'm visiting, but when it comes to Disney we are very minimal. We always buy a Christmas ornament, and the kids are given their own spending money to manage themselves. So that might be $100 for both of the kids combined and $30 for the ornament. Last trip I bought myself a spirit jersey and it felt like a really big indulgence because I almost never buy anything for myself while on vacation in WDW. This trip all I want is a coffee mug and extra Gideon's cookies to bring home
Zero for me and DH. (We've just never been into souvenir shopping at Disney or anywhere.) But lol our adult kids make up for us and just love all things Disney (always have to go to Disney Springs) -- like to get matching shirts, like cute Disney backpacks, like hats or mouse headbands to wear in the parks. And one year (Dec. 2019) I had to take my niece to the dress shop on Cherry Tree Lane. I don't normally get Christmas presents or nieces or nephews, but wanted to get her a cute Disney dress there which she loved. And OMG it's the first Disney thing I actually knew about that she didn't. She's my 30 year old Disney princess who is a 5th grade math teacher. They even have Disney days at her school, so this was super fun for her to wear it to school (Her students just loved it and she got so many compliments). Cute A line flowered dress with hidden Mickeys and Minnies. They have super cute men's shirts with hidden characters too in tropic prints that DS loves and look really good on him. He wears those a lot when going out in the summer. Lots of fun stuff.

And there are lots of things that are very appealing to little kids at the parks -- We are past that stage though and don't have any grandkids either. One of the coolest things we got when our son was little was the monorail playset when we stayed at the Contemporary. But that's something we bought 23 years ago.

Ahhh, my people! I am VERY enthusiastic about browsing every single shop... but I rarely ever buy anything!

This extends beyond the parks - as a general rule we only buy one small souvenir ornament from each new country we visit (e.g. Eiffel Tower for France, Viking Ship for Norway!). In retrospect I wish I had thought to do something like this for each Disney park!

We probably average around $200-$300 a trip and we're a family of 4. I would've said less but little things add up fast. Last trip the kids each did a tie dye t-shirt at the resort and got orange bird sippers at Epcot along with a plush each. We all brought home souvenir mugs from Trader Sams and Oga's as well.

20 plus years ago, we would spend a good amount on stuff. Well, actually my husband. And he liked the "higher" end stuff. Armani figures, cels (when they had them), the Thomas Kinkade paintings (I know there are still paintings). Don't feel that what is available now is "as good." Don't buy like we used to.

Nothing. In recent years we have booked through Disney and stayed in a Disney hotel and they always throw in souvenirs with the package. WDW 5 years ago it was a WDW picture frame and a leather wrapped stainless steel WDW insulated cup. DL it usually is a lithograph.

We do magnets but last trip we were only able to find one magnet and it really wasn't the type we collect. No one was able to give me a straight answer on why they disappeared.🤷‍♂️

I can spend a couple of hundred easy. I want an ornament, a new set of ears and usually a hoodie or sweatshirt.
