TRON Ride Testing in Progress

We were there Fri and on Peoplemover like 3x and missed this. That's exciting!

All we saw was the completed canopy, bunch of dirt, and nothing done in terms of the Space Mt gift shop, if that is indeed being reconfigured to act as a bridge, a second way to get back there rather than just the crammed path adjacent to that bldg., that will be very crowded. And whether there will be lockers put in for storage of your stuff for the ride. Shanghai has a huge lockers section for Tron and Americans always seem nervous about losing your phone or whatever else. There was a small compartment in front of you on the cycle that can fit a phone/wallet but not much else. I literally just held my phone and took photos while on the ride, and felt the ride was smooth/slow enough (after initial launch) to not risk losing my phone.

Just guessing, but if they are already ride testing, I'd say pretty good.
Sort of feel that they CAN be done with construction this year, but do they WANT to open it this year? Why not milk it until May 2023 to spread out (from Guardians) the boosted interest for booking, that is the Disney way. Hope I'm proven wrong and we actually get 2 highly anticipated attractions close together. I mean, we've only been hearing about Tron for like 5 years. I think it was 2017 when announced.

Possibly, but according to reports, Remy was ready to open several months before it did.
So Disney could do the same thing here. I do expect them to wait until the next fiscal year to make those number look even better.

The fact that Toy Story land and Star Wars land were opened within months of each other points to Disney not really caring if these two attractions are opened within the same year.

I wish but I doubt it... They like breaking my heart lol
A lot can happen in 5 months, but it does seem optimistic to expect an Oct opening. We missed GotG AP preview by only a few days (we got back Sat night). But we fortunately go frequently enough to not sweat it too much (it'll be new for us in Sept.). If you miss Tron this Fall, hopefully you experience it on your following trip, with something new to look forward to.

Our fam is not into coasters, even Disney ones, so I'm probably the only one of us who cares at all. I recall stressing when Rise was supposed to open with MF and had issues that caused a delay. We ended up shifting from Fall to Dec 2019 and we were there at the crack of dawn opening day. That was a good trip, there were some unique experiences like the X wing drone launch, but our 2020 trips were fun too.

I really want the Train back, so hopefully with Tron being in the testing phase, that will happen soon. (Tron would terrify me, so I'll just watch from the ground!)
There’s still a lot of work on the Space Mountain side, they have to finish the tunnel and lay track, which would be in the middle of the construction area. I don’t see them laying track until the outside ground level construction is done.

We saw Tron under construction during our visit to Disney in 2019. The train was not running which seemed like poor planning. A better plan would have been to temporarily reroute the train track such that you could still ride it. Was always a convenient way to get from the back of the park to the front entrance.

The Tron ride looks like 8-10 cars and therefore only16-20 people per ride. While I would assume there will be multiple cars going around the track, I wonder if that will be sufficient capacity to handle all of those wanting to ride? Hopefully this isn't going to turn out like that Star Wars ride where the entire day's capacity is spoken for within a few minutes of the park opening each day.
