Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

My family has just decided on an impromptu trip to Disney for the Food & Wine Festival, after we were just there at the end of May, and we’re going to be staying at the Beach Club for the first time!

We’ll be there Sunday, September 11 - Tuesday, September 13 and will be requesting 2 rooms connecting/adjoining for our party of 7 adults and 1 child. We’re planning on doing MNSSHP on Sunday, the day we arrive, and then only one park day in Epcot on Monday before we leave Tuesday evening.

But this will be our first time at staying at a Deluxe resort and we’re all excited!

We are going to be staying for Spring Break next year. We have never been to WDW. I’m a DL gal since I grew up near the park. We are debating doing a red eye flight from Washington state due to the Saturday morning flight being 2.5x more expensive. Any suggestions on what to do until our room is ready? It won’t be a park day for us.

Cabana day! 😎😎

Hang out in the Solarium at Beach Club. A little later in the morning, you could walk over to Fantasia Gardens mini golf. It's not right there, but is close enough to walk. You could also catch the bus to Disney Springs. My first thought was the Solarium though, as after a red eye and with the time change I imagine I'd be pretty wiped out. It might benefit you to do online check in and let them know you'll be there early. Not always, but we've had some good luck with having a room pretty quickly with a morning arrival in the past. Earliest for us was 8:30am at Coronado Springs. Last month our flight landed at 9:30am and I got my room ready text for Yacht Club while on the bus headed to the resort. Still, it helps to have a plan in case you end up having to wait until the late afternoon.

ETA: I like the cabana day suggestion!

Hello. I have been lurking over here in your lovely thread for a little while. We are GF people. We’ve not stayed in the Epcot resort area but have often visited and enjoyed the atmosphere. Some pixie dust must have mingled with the breakfast granola and now I’m seriously contemplating a split stay, including the YC CL. Is there a room type or view you’d recommend for a quiet stay? Thank you, from this lurker!

Now please forgive me but I have searched and can't really find a good answer (plus have checked Touring Plans and was equally confused...) so hoping this isn't a duplicate Q:

We're due to arrive at BC in about 40 days so starting to think about room requests. We paid for a standard room and Mr Eskimo wants to request a full balcony, which I know are few and far between for a standard view. I think there are some with a roof view that then looks out into SAB, and I think there are some that look over the rear entrance to the hotel. Any pros / cons to these and are there any that I haven't seen? There are conflicting floor plans with what's a standard view and what isn't so I'm just confused 😆 Plus we really don't want to be overlooking the front entrance of the hotel due to possible noise.

Once again, sorry if it's been asked before!

Personal opinion: do not go to Disney Springs. It always seems like a good idea, but the bus ride coming back is always slower than molasses. I would think that you would be tired and would find that frustrating. Don't forget that Disney World is much bigger than Disney Land.

If you have "We're so excited!" energy before you crash, you can walk around the lake and check out the BoardWalk, Swan and Dolphin. The gift shop on the BoardWalk is large and (at least pre-COVID) had a bakery case so you could get Disney cupcakes and other treats. The BoardWalk Bakery should have changed to the BoardWalk Deli by the time you get there, so we don't know exactly what it will have. There are food kiosks on the BoardWalk as well. You can check out menus at www.AllEars.net which sometimes is easier to browse than the Disney website.

The Swan and Dolphin have their own app, which you can download to look at their menus. The Dolphin has The Fountain restaurant, which is like Beaches & Cream but doesn't require a reservation.

If people in your group have food sensitivities, somebody could Uber/Lyft to the grocery store to pick up things to have in the room. (Grocery delivery also is an option but you could be a "no substitutions allowed" kind of person.)

Think about what you will need until the room is ready, and make sure you have that in your carry-on bag (or grab it out of your checked bag before Bell Services stores it away). Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses. The clothes you will want to wear in Florida might be different from the clothes you put on when you left the house. If you want to swim, you will want bathing suits and a plastic bag to put the wet suits in if you change back out of them.

You could get a feel for the area by taking the Friendship boat to HS and then the Skyliner back to the International Gateway Entrance to Epcot. From there, it is a short walk back to BC and just a bit longer to YC. You don't have to enter the parks to ride. I agree about not visiting Disney Springs. The crowds of people walking around, the looong wait for the return bus to show up, and the ride back to the resort are exhausting for me. We stay at YC. There are rocking chairs around the "porch" areas on the lake side of the resort. One time DD and I just sat there and rocked during a rain storm while we waited for our room and it was very relaxing.

Just an FYI, once after leaving my bags with Bell Services, I needed an item from my bag. They kindly retrieved my bag and returned it to storage once I got the item. I am sure this is an exception. But I Bell Services has always been very helpful storing bags and receiving my grocery orders.

Most of the standard view rooms are above the big, flat roof. They are on the third and fourth floors. Most of these third floor rooms have the large balcony and most of the fourth floor rooms have the standing balcony. Half of these standard views rooms face the Crescent lake side of the resort and have some decent views. Half of these standard rooms face the parking lot side of the resort but the parking lot is behind trees. It is quieter on the parking lot side. There are also some standard view rooms scattered around the resort. Approximately 50% of the standard view rooms have a large balcony.

I usually request a large balcony and a nice view and hope for the best. :)

Thanks for the info - I'm used to the Contemporary where we just said we wanted a ground floor garden wing room and then POR where we just wanted something in Magnolia Bend. This is the first time we've had to really think about it but will go with your suggestion of a large balcony with a nice view and see what happens!

We are doing a red eye from WA state next month before staying at the Beach Club. Suggestions outside of the cabana one you were already given:

Disney Springs
Resort Hopping (go be nosy and look at some of the other resorts) - Animal Kingdom Lodge is good for this as you can sit there and watch the animals if they are out.

So we want to go look at POR/POFQ, we've never seen in person.

We were thinking to take a bus to Disney Springs, maybe eat/shop, then take the boat to POR and have a walk around.

Best way back to Beach Club (besides Uber) - take bus from POR to Epcot and walk through? It will be our reserved park that day anyways.

I would bus from POR to Hollywood Studios, and then take the boat back to Beach Club. Or if you have lots of time, you could ride the Skyliner to the IG of Epcot and then walk back.

That's a good idea, thanks! That way I don't have to reserve Epcot as my park that day if we don't want and we won't have to tap into DHS.

Not sure what the weather will be like, but it can feel like a long, hot walk when you're going through Epcot just to exit at the International Gateway. I agree with PP about bus from POR to DHS and boat from DHS to BC.

@Maggie The Cat , You could also reverse that, depending what time frame you’re planning…. take the boat, skyliner or walk to Studios. Catch a bus to PO FQ, walk from there to POR. When you’re ready, catch the boat to Springs. Eat, shop & catch the bus to Beach Club from there. Depends on what time you’re going & want to eat. Also if you’re tired after that & don’t want to deal with a longer trip back to resort.

Re: Amazon Fresh delivery to Yacht Club.

I have the address (1700 Epcot Resorts Blvd, 32830)

Do I need to add anything beyond my name on the order? First time using delivery.

Thanks for the feedback!

I haven't done this specifically at YC, but another resort I put "resort guest: insert name" in the who it was for line and that seemed to work well.

I just noticed that a new room category, King Bed, has appeared on the YC listing, although I have yet to see any availability for it. I am really hoping that this is a foreshadowing of King Bed being a bookable category at all the deluxes, similar to the moderates and AK/WL. If anyone notices availability starting to appear, please post.
