There are some TV shows that are not available on streaming or for sale on DVD/Blu-Ray. Some shows were made available and now are no longer available.

Here are a couple that I'm watching now:

Moonlighting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moonlighting_(TV_series)

O'Hara: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohara_(TV_series)

Midnight Caller: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight_Caller

Battletech Cartoon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BattleTech:_The_Animated_Series

Probe: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Probe_(1988_TV_series)

I bought the DVDs for Moonlighting. They're now out of print. I would love to see the show in HD.

I've tracked down the last four on YouTube. Some episodes are missing, and some are in awful shape. The last four shows have never been given a DVD release or made available for streaming. What I can find on YouTube is some pretty terrible VHS or Betamax copy converted digitally. These are not the best quality, but it's nice to see some old TV shows that have mostly vanished.

I'm now looking for the Last Electric Knight and the show Sidekicks that spun off from it: https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/The_Last_Electric_Knight

Are there any TV shows that you liked from say the 70s, 80s, or 90s that you want to watch but can't find anywhere?

I find it frustrating that with all of these streaming services that there are still shows you cannot see in decent quality.

The only one of those I watched when it was originally on was Moonlighting, but it was great!

I looked quite a while ago for Thirtysomething, but couldn't find it. It looks like maybe it's on Prime now, though, so thanks for reminding me to check!

Moonlighting was good in first run.

Only O'Hara I have heard of was the one with David Janssen.

I tried watching Thirtysomething when I was in my 30s, and I found it super depressing. I know it's available.

I am not familiar with any of those shows highlighted. As for me, if I can get my 3 Stooges, I'm fine. Well, Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello also.

Being a big Three's Company fan, I always wanted to see the spinoffs.I remember finding "The Ropers" somewhere, I don't remember now where it was, on some app a couple years ago. It started out pretty good, but by the time it ended it was losing steam. Still would like to see "Three's A Crowd".

The first 2 that came to mind: WKRP in Cincinnati and Northern Exposure. Both had issues with getting music rights cleared. WKRP did a couple of DVD releases, but none with all of the music from the original shows. Makes a huge difference in rewatchability, IMHO. I'm not sure they've every tried a Northern Exposure release. It was one of my favorite shows and I'd love to see it again.

I was too young to be the target audience when it aired, so I never really watched it - but something made me think if it and I put it on my list of shows to check out.

I'm wondering about The Golden Girls.
Hallmark was showing them for a while, but they are doing Christmas movies right now. I'd check after the holidays, though, and you might find it!

Oh! - I never thought about that being the reason for stuff not re-airing.

I would love to watch The Courtship of Eddie's Father (60's series).
It isn't anywhere to be found, with no explainer to be found, either.

You can watch many shows on Daily Motion.

Moonlighting:

Northern Exposure:

WKRP:

I occasionally watched Moonlighting with my mom as a kid. I enjoyed it. The show that I reallllllly want released is Northern Exposure. I loved that show. The eclectic community, beautiful scenery, great cast. We lived in eastern Washington state for a decade and one trip over the pass I made my husband stop in Roslyn so that I could grab a pic with the town mural.

I remember Moonlighting well. Never saw Battletech, but Robotech for sure.

I remember watching Three's a Crowd on it's premiere, it wasn't as good as Three's Company. Only Ritter was left over from the original cast.

I used to love that show too. It came out around the same time Twin Peaks was popular, and NE even had a gag where they could see Twin Peaks from a telescope. I was googly-eyed for Janine Turner too.

I've been trying to find the original Fantasy Island. I never saw it, for some reason at that time, but wanted to compare a bit to the new show.

WKRP has been on Prime for a number of years, but not free. We paid for the Thanksgiving Turkey Drop episode a long time ago.

Golden Girls is available for streaming on Hulu. One I couldn't find for a long time was Home Improvement, but that's on Hulu now as well.

There were a number of series I really liked from the 80's-90's, like Relic Hunter, Remington Steele, Scarecrow and Mrs. King, etc. I bought the DVDs for Relic Hunter and the first season of Remington Steele for my iPod back in the early days of iTunes. Not sure they aged well.

I am sure you are right about that. I have heard it doesn't have the magic that the original did.

Loved Moonlighting!

I would love to see Chicago Hope released! They did an international DVD release but it's out of print now. My guess is that the music rights are keeping it out of release.

Also loved Moonlighting have been looking for and now will have to track down used DVD.
Nero Wolfe
Ellery Queen
