Annual Passes Resume April 13 (DVC) April 20 (General Public)

I have a 2 day ticket for September that I opted not to upgrade when I purchased my AP yesterday, as I don't want to activate that until December. Do I need to do anything special when I go in September so that they use the tickets and not the AP?

Based on my experience, it’s best to make sure that the tickets you want to use are linked to your park reservations correctly. I’ve had several occasions where the wrong ticket was used, so I got into the habit of confirming with guest services. Had at least two occasions where a non-expiring old ticket was taken instead of my AP (even when just park hopping later in the day when the AP was used for the first park). It was a real pain to get days restored. The new system where you put in the tickets in with your park reservation is supposed to take care of that problem, but, if I were you, I would confirm that your AP wasn’t used.

Easiest way, assign the AP to a dummy name in MDE. Once your trip is over, reassign it back to make park reservations.

I have an active AP, AP voucher, and multiple tickets and everything but the *active AP* is assigned to dummy names.

Learned my ticket prioritization lesson the hard way. Once used, they are a pain to reverse.

Virtual cue is gone right now. All pass types remain available.

Really makes me think that the demand for the passes was not as much as they anticipated, or that they were just trying to market demand by saying passes "may" be unavailable.
I think it's the demand wasn't as much as anticipated. IMO means that summer is going to be really soft for bookings.

We debated buying APs but only having one year to activate them did not work for us, so in the end we decided to not get them right now. If the expiration date to activate them had been longer we would have got them.

Are there any hidden or not well known benefits of being an AP?
Most are generally well known, but if you're not a local and you have a pass, we take extra care to watch for the freebies that appear in parks (most often in EPCOT in our experience). Special pieces of artwork, magnets and so on. They'll have signage in the park on where to go to get the swag. But the worst feeling is to get home from a trip, see stuff on social, and then be down because you were just there and missed it. We got into the habit of checking in advance of each trip for any potential AP benefits happening while we're there. Also, don't forget to take advantage of the AP line at the gate if it's shorter than the standard.

Just received 28 yes TWENTY-EIGHT emails all at once telling me that Disney has just now cancelled every park reservation I had due to my ticket change. However, I had already remade my park reservations correctly immediately after getting new tickets. I go to log in and suddenly the site is down for me. Anyone else?
UPDATE - I just got in (still can't access plans) but I could access the Make/modify park reservations page and all of my reservations are still there so I guess the emails are just late and are from the first time they cancelled all of our park res. .....oh Disney.....

This is exactly why I rebooked all my daughters when I upgraded her ticket to an AP. I was afraid this would happen and she wouldn’t get the parks we wanted .
You were smart in my opinion to rebook immediately.

When I added a day to a park ticket a couple months ago the emails cancelling all my park reservations were a couple days delayed. I caught it at the time and remade the park reservations so I freaked when the cancellations came in thinking they’d cancelled the new ones I’d made. They didn’t. Stupid system was just late telling me they cancelled the old ones.

@PalmettoPath wait...whaaaatttt??? There is an AP line to get in to each park??? My mind is blown. I didn't know this. Are they typically shorter or typically longer?
In my experience... typically the same length. The only advantage I've seen, is if (if!) the people in line are actual AP holders, the line can move quicker.

They've always been much shorter for us. In fact in March, there was literally no one in them most of the time. Never have I seen an AP line longer than the regular lines. Could be just lucky for us, but we've been AP holders for around 10 years now. We visit for three weeks each year (not locals).

This is great to hear! Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing! Now I'm a little more excited to head back to WDW as AP holders!

I'm sure it varies, but I can only speak to our experience ;) For us the AP line has virtually always been shorter (even before pandemic). It's a great option to have no matter how you look at it. Just another small benefit.

I can activate my AP at Typhoon Lagoon correct? We’ll be in Disney next week and want to add on Water Parks and then spend the afternoon there.
