Oogie Boogie Bash Halloween 2023 Super Thread

I am so sorry that you had this experience today. I have been following along today and was so hoping you would get tickets. I know the dates are not ideal, but I really hope you guys can make it because it is a lot of fun!!! Glad you get to hopefully go!
Thanks I am glad I got some tickets but wish I would have been able to get the 22nd as it would have been a lot more convenient.

If they have trouble selling their tix it most definitely will have an effect on them if they are left holding a stack of tickets... or at least have a hassle of selling them elsewhere instead of an easy eBay transaction. Who's side are you on anyway.? ;)
The tickets could also get voided if Disney catches wind (and I’m sure they monitor).

Makes me angry too. I reported the ones I saw on eBay.

Did another round of reporting myself. I know Disney monitors it as well and will take action especially with the controversy surrounding this, but it doesn't hurt to nudge things along. They all got taken down before. And they will again. Last year they were cancelling some people's MKs when caught.

Also the audacity of some like this one person selling a single 10/31 ticket for $400 to charge a shipping fee for a digital item. A PDF printing of the ticket is not worth a full shipping fee that's probably just going to be folded and thrown into an envelope. Also zero history (brand new account so big red flag) with only the ticket, some weird sneakers, and a bottle of Prime for sale. And none of the physical items using proof of life photos. It screams scam.

Also make sure to check sold and/or completed listings. These can still be reported. I'm up to 37 reports so far. And sadly several were from sold listings. Hoping Disney is already working to get them taken down just like they did before.

I love all these people that want to cry and complain to Disney. Do you think they will honestly care. They sold their Halloween party out in technically less than a day. Rye don’t get how got the tickets. They got paid….end of discussion. As long as the demand remains this high. You will see the same traffic unless they do a lottery style, nothing will change
Some people just want to stand there and watch the world burn.

I wholeheartedly disagree that Disney doesn’t care about the resellers. They do want the tickets to be sold to guests directly or they would not have halted the original ticket sales nor would they cancel tickets that are resold and thus violating their strict policy about this.

I recall from last year at least a person or two who had similar predicaments. They claimed they were able to contact customer service and after a bit of work, and maybe a jump up the chain-of-command, get the tickets refunded. You'd think with how much demand there is they'd be more than willing to let someone else take them rather than go wasted.
+1 for this - especially if you call within 24 hours and let them know that due to the messy ticket sale, your group accidentally purchased more tickets than intended. aka immediate call = "purchased by mistake" which might get refunded, as vs calling next week = "changed our mind" which is unlikely to elicit much sympathy. Good luck!

Worst experience ever. Waited all day to buy 1 ticket for either the 29th or 31st and nothing. I’m staying at the Grand Cal for my birthday, spending all kinds of money and not even a chance at a ticket. I’m so disappointed that this whole thing could be sold out in a matter of 12hours. I’ve never had this experience with MNSSHP at WDW. Incredible let down
I’m sorry to hear this! Definitely ask about tickets at Grand Cal when you check in. I’ve heard that the hotels often have a few “day of” tickets available for guests.

There were even reports people were losing their Magic Keys about ticket reselling, and going from the amount of whining I consider these credible.

Also some of the reselling Facebook groups are absolutely paranoid about someone from Disney getting in there. You basically have to write a novel to get access now. When I tried to get in for research purposes I was given this exact reason, they don't want anyone from Disney getting data.

They are not gonna catch everyone, but it does seem Disney is at least not totally ignoring the problem.

On a side note, really amazing to sell out 25 dates in one day. Disney has taken a beating recently by a group I will not mention. But what I am seeing is Disney has support from the Gens Zs Xs and Millennials more than any other company except maybe Apple. They stood up to the bullies and people noticed.

Sorry you didn't get one. OBB has become ComicCon level event (SDCC sells out within 4 hours) for the locals as many do this in addition to their MKs.

FYI: GC typically gets 50-100 tickets to for guests and release at the front desk the morning of the event. Query guest services on this ahead and again at checkin.

Dumb question, but on the night of, will they just scan all our tickets from my app or do I need to do something to link them to each person’s app?

If your group is linked then you can do it all from your app. Just need them all there when you check in. And if you are already in DCA for the morning then you will need to exit out and go back in to get the party wristbands.

Ok folks here is the first friendly reminder (we don't want to shut down this thread so please remember...)

NO BUYING OR SELLING TALK ALLOWED
Please watch your language when posting a comment to someone!

If the buying and selling talk continues we will close the thread and start issuing warnings and points!

Thanks so much to everyone for following the rules!!

There usually is a place inside DCA for party check-in so no need to go back outside if the entire party is already inside.

Anyone remember when they announced treat trail characters last year? Was there an announcement? I can’t remember. I know the food guide didn’t come out until the day before fall events started.

:( We did call just minutes after the transaction went through and pleaded that we made an honest mistake. They refused to void/refund. "Gift to a friend" was the response. I'm a generous person, but not $1,000+ generous. And I don't live in the area; I don't have friends that can easily make a trip to Disney. Sigh. What a journey.
