Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

Hi all! Is there a bus that runs between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge? Some friends are staying at Fort Wilderness, but want to have dinner at Wilderness Lodge. I just wondered if there's a bus that travels between. TIA!

Yes, or at least there used to be a dedicated shuttle bus. I am pretty sure it is still running, I just haven't used it in some years.

The CM's told us not to walk after dark, even though we had walked over. During daylight walking is okay, and it was not very far.

The walking path between FW and WL referenced above has been closed for several years now. It’s bus only between resorts. It’s a pretty frequent bus, usually very convenient.

Looking for some thoughts on the "Fireworks view" rooms. Anyone stayed in there? Are they worth the little extra? Considering a stay in November for Christmas time decorations there but considering getting the fireworks view as it'll be a quick, more resort oriented stay.

Different strokes for different folks, but I like my fireworks with audio and that’s tough from the rooms. Still provides a nice view though so that is arguably worth it. Doesn’t seem too critical to me, could go either way. I think.

Viewing from your room only if you have small children and are already back in your room for bed. You only see the high Fireworks as they appear from over the Contemporary building. I would suggest you skip the Fireworks view and just join the group at by Bay lake next to Geyser Point.

We recently stayed at the WL for the first time and were BLOWN AWAY…

Checked in on 7/26 (booked a standard CL room for 2 nights), and ended up scoring an upgrade to the YOSEMITE SUITE!!! We were celebrating my bachelorette party, and my 29th birthday was on Sunday 7/30. Yes, I cried!!

Then, as a cherry on top, when we stopped at concierge to thank them, they gifted both my mom and I free Genie + for the day!

From start to finish, Randi and Javier at the WL made us feel like royalty. We were absolutely spoiled for the next two nights and LOVED all of the resort and CL amenities. I have now stayed at all WDW deluxe resorts, and no doubt, WL has had the friendliest service. We are definitely converts!!!

That is amazing! So happy for you. Hoping your lucky magic rubs off on me for my upcoming stay at WL :)

Last time we stayed at CC was 2017. We are staying again at the end of the month. I remember back then finding the bus to MK and the boat back the best way to get to Magic. What does you feel is the easiest way there and back we have a car but it doesnt make much sense to drive to mk from WL

Both the boat and the bus are the best ways to get to MK from CC/WL. We prefer the boat because it is more fun than a bus. :)

The MK bus goes directly from WL to MK in the morning, but at some point in the day, the MK bus goes to the Settlement Depot at Fort Wilderness before going to MK. I think this route is for the dinner hours, but not sure.

Are rollaway beds available in wilderness lodge? Would they fit in a waterview room? Also if anyone has used them before are they fairly comfortable. Would they be fine for a teenager? Thanks

Are the boats running again? When we were there in December the boats running then went to the MK only.

Bartender at GP told me they’re expecting a menu change very soon. The turkey sandwich is safe but I never asked about the brisket and other popular things on the menu. They also heard that GP may be relabeled and no longer be considered a pool bar.
So was there again last night and the bartender said the brisket is gone Oct 1… Bison Burger/Turkey Sandwich staying.

Needless to say they aren’t happy with the upcoming changes.
