Strange Holiday Movies

Another thread gave me this idea for bizarre holiday films, especially by Disney. The one that immediately comes to mind for me is One Magic Christmas with Mary Steenburgen and Harry Dean Stanton. It's a gut wrenching story and while, of course, it has a happy ending, man does the film put you through the wringer to get there. Any other strange holiday films?

Not really strange, but The Holdovers is a beautiful Christmas movie, among many other things.

I like unusual movies - but Christmas wise cant think off too many.

One we watch every Christmas is The Ref - basically a home invasion at Christmas that goes well and brings the family together - its a comedy BTW with Denis Leary and Kevin Spacey.

Santa Claus, 1959. My mom took me to see it a decade later when I was a toddler, and I still have mental scars from it. I don’t think she had any idea that it was going to be so surreal. Santa lives in outer space, the Devil is involved, and there is a telescope with a big eyeball attached that gave me the creeps.

so strange and SO BAD-the star wars holiday special o_O o_O o_O dh had never seen it (big star wars fan but he did not see it the one and only time it was shown on tv) so i found a stunning print on dvd and gifted him with it last christmas. he and our oldest sat in stunned silence as they watched it christmas morning.

Oh yeah, I've seen some strange and they are mostly gory.

The Fatman
Violent Night
Anna and the Apocalypse
The Mean One

I saw the Star Wars holiday special too and I'm good with not seeing it again.

It's on YouTube. Nothing says "Christmas" like soft-core Wookie...err...entertainment. Happy Life Day everyone!

Last year's "Violent Night" became a favorite and it will be an annual must watch!

Gotta be Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny (not only weird but laughably bad.)

Honorable mentions to Nightmare before Christmas (brilliant but decidly strange), and Krampus, because coal apparently isn't enough when it comes to forcing children to behave.

recently watched 'krampus'-it's was enjoyable.
Love Krampus, watch it every year!
One I just recently discovered is ”The gingerdead man” stars none other than Gary Busey as the voice of a killer gingerbread man :rotfl2:
And I’ll add “Jack Frost” the one about the killer snowman, not to be confused with the family movie that came out a year later with the same name starring Michael Keaton.
