Closed today, took exactly 3 weeks from when it was sent off to ROFR, woohoo! Now we'll see how long it takes Disney to add my new membership and then load the points! From the closing time thread it looks like things are moving along pretty fast on their end.

I'll be following that info! Congrats!

I hope everything is going quickly on Disney’s end. I need those points to make a reservation for this summer!,

I feel like Fidelity lists BWV in the $110-120 range all the time. I saw one under $100/point recently- larger contract but still a good deal.
I was thrilled with adding a "small" BWV at $140 - should close in the next week or so. "Deal" depends on your needs.

I'll also say this again for anyone new - READ your contract before you sign it, the purchase contracts are NOT standardized. For example - www.fidelityrealestate.com has both Buyer service fees of $225, and extra cancellation terms, which I don't think the other Brokers include (although some Brokers may have their own upcharges like promoting higher priced Escrows they partially own etc).

That’s why I was surprised to get judged for paying $115 (listed $130) in December for a 100 BWV March UY with 0/23 and 100/24. I have been monitoring since and have not seen a March UY 80-100pt BWV while checking other UYs in the same range and nothing really beats my price. BWV sellers are unwavering unless you find a unicorn or buying 200+.
All that really matters is you found a contract that you were happy paying for and fit your needs. Like I can look now and be like darn I spent 10 dollars more per point than this guy did in the ROFR thread and admittedly I do do that sometimes, but I also wouldn't have been able to go on 3 of my trips if I hadn't bought it last year so /shrug. Value is in the eye of the beholder.

I said I was done. But kept submitting lowball offers. And here we are. Everyone learn from me - don't offer if you don't want to buy :yo-yo:
Ok I’m very jealous of this, amazing deal, congrats!
I said someone would break into the $70s soon but this is giving JG a run for his money!

FFS I wish I had not read this. If some contracts get cheaper than this im going to have to purchase !

Congrats

It’s all about expenses relative to free cash flow.

A country club will cost you $12k/yr in dues…. but 1262 DVC points is probably a lot more fun for the family…. and you can cash out down the line if you want to.
I agree that DVC points provide more fun for your money than a typical Country Club. However, $12K/year would be a steal for CC membership in my area - they’re more like $25K 🤪🤣(& NO - I do not hold a CC membership)!
